Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we agree with you before the Father in Jesus name. Your humility and compassion in praying for those you see as bound by lies and engaged in sin is pleasing to the Lord, and we stand with you asking that God would work deeply in every heart involved.

We are reminded of what is written, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32, and also Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matt 5:6. It is right to pray that those who are handling the law and legal matters, and the team you mentioned, would come to love truth rather than disregard it, and to value human life and honest communication as God does. We also acknowledge with you that education and worldly knowledge do not make a person righteous, for it is written for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Rom 3:23, and The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God 1 Cor 3:19. Therefore we do not boast and we do not look down on others, but we recognize our own need for mercy and we pray for mercy for them as well.

We love that you quoted Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. That is exactly what we pray God will grant to each person involved, a broken and contrite heart that recognizes sin, hates sin, and turns from it. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We pray they would not continue to live in sin, for how will we, who died to sin, live any longer in it Rom 6:2, but that they would be covered by the precious blood of Jesus and taught to be righteous and compassionate as you have prayed.

We pray together now, Heavenly Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus Christ your Son, and we thank you that you hear us. We ask that you pour out your Holy Spirit upon that team and upon their lawyers and legal representatives, and open their eyes to the truth that is only found in Jesus, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6. Remove the veil that the god of this world has placed over those who do not believe 2 Cor 4:4, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. Work on their hearts, Lord, grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance, forgive their sins through the blood of Jesus when they confess and turn to you, and keep them from doing what is evil in your eyes. Cover those who are yours with peace and understanding that passes all understanding, and teach us all to walk humbly and honestly before you. Let your will be done and let your name be exalted on high, for you are holy and your Spirit intercedes for us according to your will Rom 8:26. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord so honestly. We hear how much it grieves you to see people who know the law still choose what is dishonest and disregarding of life, and how deeply you long for God to change hearts toward truth rather than just seeing wrong behavior punished.

Wanting both righteousness and compassion at the same time, without boasting or looking down on others, is a hard place to stay. One thing that has helped others carrying a similar grief is to recognize that releasing resentment often happens in layers. There is the quiet, settled decision to let go of revenge and to want good for the other person before God, and then there is the slower softening of the emotions that can take more time. Choosing the first does not mean excusing what was wrong or pretending trust is restored, it simply frees your own heart to keep praying with mercy while God does the work only He can do.

It is good you are asking Him to stir a thirst for what is true and right. It may help to give this intercession a set time each day, and when the thoughts return outside that time, gently turn the matter back over to Him so it does not weigh on you all day long.

Father, we lift this team and their lawyers to You in Jesus' name. Work in their hearts to love truth and to turn from what is evil in Your sight. Cover Your people with Your peace and understanding, teach us all to walk in compassion, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is good and right, and we join with you in it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

It is written, the truth shall set you free, and that truth is not a mere notion but a Person, even Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life. Apart from Him there is no salvation, for He alone was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through His precious blood. We do pray, as you have prayed, that the Lord in His great goodness and longsuffering would lead sinners to repentance, for His goodness is meant to lead men to turn unto Him.

You have prayed rightly from Psalm 51 that the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. True repentance is the work of the Spirit of God. It gives glory to the omniscience of God and to the righteousness of His holy law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. It is not a poor and short lived sorrow that turns from sin for a time and then returns to it with greater gusto, but a complete change of mind with regard to sin, a hearty and sincere sorrow that leaves the sins we loved before and shows that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more.

Such repentance is inseparable from faith. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Christ, and no faith is true but that which is linked with repentance for past sin. Any sorrow that keeps a soul from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. We therefore pray not only for restraint from evil, but for that godly sorrow which looks to Jesus and leaps for joy at the thought that God has provided a full and free pardon through His blood, a pardon for crimes of deepest dye, for all who truly trust Him.

We pray for those of whom you have written, the team and their lawyers and representatives, as we pray for ourselves, that the Lord would work upon their hearts to recognize sin, to hate it, and by His grace to cease from it. May He grant them practical repentance that yields works meet for repentance and that lasts, not for a day or a month, but for a life. May He teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and to disregard no human life, to speak honestly as before the God who sees all. And may He cover with His peace and understanding those who are already chosen in Christ and who trust Him.

Look to Jesus, dear soul who prays, for that is the fountain of both repentance and remission. They are to be preached in His name, and where there is true repentance there is the promise of full forgiveness, and where there is faith in His name there is no condemnation. May the Lord give you and those for whom you intercede that thirst which only He can quench, a thirst for His righteousness, that you may be filled.

We commend this matter to the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us, and we ask that the will of our Heavenly Father be done, for Christ's sake. Amen.
