Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we agree with you in Jesus name for all those involved.

We are encouraged by your humility before the Lord, acknowledging that education and position do not make one righteous, and that we all fall short of the glory of God. As it is written, Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. And Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us that the heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt, who can know it. Only God can transform the heart, and only the truth of Christ can set a person free. You quoted John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and we cling to that promise for those who are bound by Satan's lies. The god of this age has blinded the minds, as 2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us, but Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and to lead us into all truth by His Spirit, John 16:13.

We also rejoice that you are praying not with a spirit of boasting or looking down on others, but with compassion and a desire for mercy and forgiveness. That reflects the heart God desires. Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. And Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. This is the very thirst you are asking God to stir in them, and we know He delights to answer that prayer, for 1 Timothy 2:4 says God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.

You rightly brought Psalm 51:16-17 before the Lord, For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. We agree that what is needed is not outward religion or legal knowledge, but a new heart. Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Only He can cause those who have disregarded human life and honest communication to recognize their sin, to hate it, and to turn from it.

We also lift up those who are chosen and belong to Christ among that group, that the precious blood of Jesus would cover them and keep them. We pray they would have peace and understanding that passes all understanding, and that they would be strengthened to walk righteously and compassionately even in a difficult environment. We are comforted that the Holy Spirit Himself is interceding, as Romans 8:26 says In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.

So we pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You are holy and just, and that You love mercy and truth. Lord, we lift up the team at that organization, their lawyers and legal representatives, before You. We ask that You would have mercy on them and forgive their sins. Break through the lies of the enemy that have bound their minds, and shine the light of the gospel of Christ upon them. Give them a broken and contrite heart, that they would see their sin as You see it, hate what is evil, and turn from it. Take away their stony hearts and give them hearts of flesh that thirst for truth and righteousness as a deer pants for water. Teach them to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with You. Let them do nothing that is evil in Your eyes, but rather let them honor human life and speak with honesty and integrity.

We plead the blood of Jesus over those who are Yours in that place. Cover them, guard them, grant them Your peace and understanding, and help them to be witnesses of Your compassion and righteousness. Stir all hearts involved, Lord, with an unquenchable hunger for Your Word and Your ways. We trust Your perfect will and Your perfect timing, and we ask You to continue to intercede by Your Holy Spirit for us and for them. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We pray this in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfastly in prayer, for Luke 18:1 teaches us that we ought always to pray, and not to faint, and 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says pray without ceasing. God hears the prayers of the righteous, and He is faithful to convict, to save, and to make all things work for good for those who love Him. We stand with you, trusting that the Lord who desires truth in the inward parts will answer and bring forth justice and righteousness in His time.

We hear how deeply this has weighed on you and how sincerely you want truth and righteousness to prevail. It is painful to watch people who know the law use it in ways that feel dishonest and disregarding of human life, and your grief over that is understandable. The way you pray, not to look down on them but to ask God to soften their hearts so they can recognize wrong and turn from it, reflects real humility.

That kind of prayer honors both justice and mercy. It can also help to remember that choosing to release a desire for revenge in your own heart is not the same as saying what was done was acceptable or that trust should be immediately restored. Holding that distinction can protect your heart from bitterness while you continue to care deeply about honest communication and respect for life.

One simple rhythm that helps many who carry a burden for a larger situation is to set aside a short, specific time each day to bring these people and this situation before the Lord, and then intentionally leave the outcome in His hands for the rest of the day. If you can, share this prayer commitment with one trusted pastor or mature believer who can stand with you, so you are not holding it alone.

Father, we lift this whole situation to You in Jesus' name. Stir in each heart involved a genuine thirst for truth and righteousness and a willingness to see clearly. Cover Your people with Your peace and understanding, guard our friend from weariness as he waits on You, and let Your will be done. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in this prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, for blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. It is right to pray thus, and right to ask that the Lord would work upon the heart, for except the Spirit of God produce it, there is no true turning from sin.

You have prayed as the Psalmist prayed, that God would not despise a broken and contrite heart. That is the sacrifice which God accepts. Not words alone, nor outward show, but a heart bruised and broken on account of sin, hating the sin itself and loathing it, because it has offended a holy and gracious God. We have all fallen short of His glory, whether learned or unlearned, whether lawyer or layman, for there is none righteous, no not one, and the educated are no more able to save themselves than the simplest soul. All need the same mercy, the same precious blood shed for sinners.

Take heed that we pray not for a poor and short lived repentance which turns from sin for a time and then goes back to it with greater gusto. True repentance, the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts, gives glory to God. It gives glory to His omniscience, confessing that He sees all, and it gives glory to the righteousness of His law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. As the children's hymn well says, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. It is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, and it yields works meet for repentance. It is practical and it lasts, not a sudden flush which soon fades, but a sorrow for sin that continues and deepens at the foot of the cross.

And this repentance is inseparable from faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. We are not to preach repentance as a preparation for coming to Christ, as though we must first make ourselves worthy, but repentance and remission of sins are to be preached in His name. Where there is real sorrow for sin, there is the full and free forgiveness of all sins through Him who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin. Do you leap for joy at the very thought that God has set forth Christ to be that propitiation, that His blood was shed not for our righteousnesses but for our sins, and that whosoever will trust His Son shall be saved. This is the repentance that needs not to be repented of.

So let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we come to Thee in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, through whom alone is salvation. We ask that Thou wouldst lead these souls, the team at that place and their lawyers and legal representatives, to true repentance. Work upon their hearts by Thy Holy Spirit, that they may recognise their sin, hate their sin, and turn from it. Give them, and give to us all, that unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness which only Thou canst satisfy. Where any are chosen in Christ, cover them with His precious blood and give them peace and understanding. Teach all to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and to speak it, to regard human life as made in Thine image, and to walk honestly before Thee. Let Thy goodness lead them to repentance, for Thou delightest in mercy and Thy mercy endureth forever. Grant a broken spirit and a contrite heart, and then grant remission of sins through faith in Jesus, to whom be glory forever.

We exhort you to continue steadfast in prayer and to look to Jesus, for if you would have deeper repentance, look to Him who bled and died for sinners. He will not despise the humble cry, and He is able to make the heart both tender and true. May the Lord answer according to His perfect will, for Christ's sake. Amen.
