Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we are deeply moved by your humble and compassionate heart toward those who have opposed you.

We echo your cry that the Lord would stir hearts that are bound by lies and bring them into freedom, for it is written, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:32. And we cling with you to the promise, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6. Only God can create that holy hunger where there has been hardness and self interest.

We also hear your burden for the team you mentioned and for their lawyers and legal representatives. It is right and godly to pray for those who have caused grief, even when they have disregarded human life and honest communication. We are told to pray for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4. And Jesus Himself said, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44.

You rightly observed that education and knowledge of the law does not make one righteous, and scripture confirms this, for not many wise after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called, but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. 1 Corinthians 1:26-27. Righteousness comes not from intellect but from a broken and repentant heart. As you quoted, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Psalm 51:17, and also, Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts. Psalm 51:6. We pray with you that God would grant them that brokenness, that they would not only recognize sin but hate it and turn from it, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.

We are thankful that you came in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12, and Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. It is only through His precious blood that we have peace and covering, and it is the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26.

So we pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We ask You to pour out Your mercy upon the team and their lawyers and legal representatives. Remove the veil of deception from their eyes and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. Replace their stony hearts with hearts of flesh, that they may love what You love and hate what You hate. Ezekiel 36:26. Grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance, that they may turn from every evil way and walk in compassion and integrity. Cover Your chosen ones and all who belong to Christ with the blood of Jesus, keep them in Your perfect peace which surpasses all understanding. Philippians 4:7, and give them wisdom and understanding in this difficult time. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10. We do not seek vengeance, for vengeance belongs to You, but we seek Your glory and the salvation of souls, that even those who now oppose truth might become vessels of righteousness. We thank You for Your holiness and for the Holy Spirit who never ceases to intercede. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfastly in prayer, for we ought always to pray, and not to faint. Luke 18:1, and to continue steadfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2. The Lord hears the cries of the righteous and He is faithful to act in His perfect timing and justice. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up. Galatians 6:9.

We were grateful to read your prayer and the humble spirit behind it. It is a heavy thing to watch people with education and influence act in ways that disregard truth and the value of others, and we hear how much that grieves your heart. Your desire not to boast or look down on them, but simply to see God soften hearts and draw people toward what is true and compassionate, is a good and loving burden to carry.

We join you in asking the Lord to keep that thirst for truth and righteousness alive, in their lives and in your own. When we pray faithfully for others over time, we are leaning not on the strength of our words but on God's willingness to hear and to work in ways we cannot see. That work is often slow and hidden, and it can be discouraging when nothing seems to change.

One thing that has helped others carrying a similar burden is to set a simple, regular time to bring these same people before the Lord by name and then intentionally leave the outcome with Him for the day, rather than carrying the weight of it constantly. If you have a trusted brother or sister who can agree with you in prayer, sharing this intercession together can make it less isolating.

We are praying with you.

Father, we lift this team and their lawyers and representatives to You in Jesus' name. Touch each heart, bring honest recognition of sin and a real desire for what is true and right, and grow compassion where it is needed. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, and keep this one who is interceding strengthened and hopeful as they seek You. Let Your will be done. Amen.

Your burden before the Lord is a right and weighty one, and it is good that you bring it relentlessly to the throne of grace. To thirst after truth and righteousness is itself a gift of God, for our Lord has said, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. The world thirsts after gain and reputation, but the soul awakened by the Spirit thirsts after that which is holy and true.

You pray well in asking that those who are entangled in lies and in disregard for human life and honest communication may come to a true repentance. Let us remember what true repentance is. It is not a short lived sorrow which turns from sin for a time and then goes back to it with greater gusto, nor is it a mere regret that sin has found us out. As the children's hymn says, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. It is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, wrought by the Spirit of God, and it is as much a gift of His grace as pardon itself.

You have quoted the Psalmist rightly, that God delights not in sacrifice and burnt offering, but a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. Breaking and bruising are fit treatment for our nature. When God has put sweetness into the heart, it is breaking that develops the sweetness. The truly penitent gives glory to the omniscience of God and to the righteousness of His law, saying, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. Such a one does not quarrel with the law, nor does he make repentance a sort of compensation for sin, as if sorrow could pay for transgression. He looks to Jesus, who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood.

You are right to note that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a man righteous. The learned may yet be found in horrible sins, for the heart is deceitful above all things. Righteousness is not learned in books alone, but is received through faith in Christ, who loved the church and gave Himself for it, and who alone can cover the sinner and give peace and understanding.

Therefore we will pray with you, and we urge you to continue in this relentless prayer. Let us ask the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, that He would in His goodness lead these souls to repentance. For His goodness is meant to lead men to turn to Him. May He grant them that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of, a practical repentance that yields works meet for repentance and that lasts, not for a day or a month, but for a life. May He give them eyes to see their sin as He sees it, to hate it and to forsake it because of love to Him who died for sinners.

We pray that the blood of Christ may cover all who are His, and that those who are yet bound by Satan's lies may hear the truth as it is in Jesus, and that the truth may indeed set them free. For where there is true repentance there is full and free forgiveness, pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus blood, and for all who truly trust Him there is no condemnation.

Look to Jesus, and teach those for whom you pray to look to Him. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. May the Lord stir their hearts and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, that they may seek first His kingdom, and may He grant you perseverance in intercession, knowing that the Holy Spirit Himself intercedes for us according to the will of God.

May the Lord hear and answer for His own glory and for the good of souls. Amen.
