Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we thank you for coming before the Father in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we approach God and are saved.

We are moved by your humility in not boasting and not looking down on others, while rightly recognizing that education and legal knowledge do not make a person righteous. Scripture reminds us in Romans 3:23 that all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in Jeremiah 17:9 that the heart is deceitful above all things. Only God is truly righteous and only He can give a new heart. Your prayer echoes the heart of Jesus in Matthew 5:6 where He said Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, and in John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. Jesus Himself is that truth as He said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

We also stand with you in praying Psalm 51:16-17 For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise. What God desires is not outward performance but inward brokenness and repentance, and we pray with you that He would grant that to the team you mentioned and to their lawyers and legal representatives. We agree that the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving as written in 2 Corinthians 4:4, and that only the Holy Spirit can open eyes to see the lies of Satan and to love truth and honest communication.

So we pray together now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this team and every lawyer and legal representative connected to them. Lord, we ask that you have mercy on them and forgive their sins as they confess and turn to you, for you have promised in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Cover those who are yours with the precious blood of Jesus, grant them peace and understanding and keep them from being conformed to evil. For those who are still bound in darkness, we pray you would do what only you can do and give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them as you promised in Ezekiel 36:26. Break their hearts over sin, cause them to hate what you hate and to love what you love, and stir within them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and for compassion and regard for human life. Teach them to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with you. We pray that they would not continue in a sinful life but would be set free by knowing Jesus who is the truth. Let your will be done in this situation and let your Holy Spirit intercede according to your perfect purpose. We thank you that you desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth as you say in 1 Timothy 2:4. We trust your justice and your mercy and we exalt the name of Jesus Christ on high. Amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying as you intercede for this team and their lawyers. It is painful to watch people who know the law yet seem to disregard truth and the dignity of others, and we understand why this grieves you.

Your desire to see them come to a broken and honest place before God, with a real thirst for what is right and true, is a good and loving prayer. We join you in that. We also know how intercession like this can stay heavy on the mind, so one simple practice that often helps is to give it a clear place. Choose a brief time each day to bring these specific people before the Lord by name, ask for His work in their hearts and for honest dealings, and then intentionally release the burden to Him for the rest of the day, trusting Him to be at work even when we cannot see it.

We are grateful for your compassion that does not want to look down on others but wants restoration.

Father, we lift this team and their representatives to You. Work in their hearts to love truth and to act with compassion and honesty. Cover Your people involved with peace and understanding, and guard our friend here from discouragement as they keep praying. Let Your will be done in this situation. In Jesus name, amen.

Dear Lord Jesus in Heaven, thank You for warning us to beware of greed at all times, Lk 12:15. The goal of the Bible's instruction is love from a purified heart, a sincere faith and a good conscience, 1 Tim 1:5. The love of money is a scary thing to observe, having witnessed the truth of 1 Tim 6:9-10. Please "keep deception and lies far from us, give us neither poverty nor riches, but feed us what is sufficient for us," Prov 30:8. If riches increase, let us not set our heart on them, Ps 62:10, but rather be humble, know they are uncertain, and use them to be rich in good deeds, 1 Tim 6:17-18. Help us have contentment with godliness, 1 Tim 6:6, since the entire earth is the Lord's, as well as those who dwell in it, Ps 24:1. Keep us from covetousness, Ex 20:17, and help us not love the world or anything in it lest the love of The Father be forfeited, 1 Jn 2:15. Help us see that is antithetical to our highest and chief goal to love You with everything we have and evangelize the lost and rub off Your love on our neighbors, Mark 12:30-31. Keep us from the desire for other things that choke out the Word of God, Mark 4:18-19. Keep us from temptation, Luke 11:4, sin, Zeph 3:13, 1 Cor 8:1, false believers, 2 Tim 3:5 and the evil one who blinds eyes, hearts minds and the world, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 1 Jn 5:18. Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is one in which we gladly join with you before the throne of grace, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is right that you should pray thus, for the truth indeed shall set men free, and only when the Spirit of God works a true repentance in the heart does a man come to love that truth and to hunger and thirst after righteousness. You have well quoted the Psalm, that the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. This is the very work we desire to see wrought in those for whom you pray, the team at that place and their lawyers and representatives, and indeed in all of us.

We must remember what true repentance is. There is a poor and short lived repentance which turns from sin for a time and then goes back to it with greater gusto, but true repentance, which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts, gives glory to God. It gives glory to His omniscience, confessing that He sees all, and it gives glory to the righteousness of His law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. As the children's hymn rightly says, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. It yields works meet for repentance and it lasts, not for an hour only, but for a life.

No faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Christ. Any repentance that keeps a sinner from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. We are to look to Jesus, who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin, and to trust His precious blood which alone can cover and cleanse. It is not our sorrow that saves, but His blood, and yet where there is true godly sorrow for sin, there is the full and free forgiveness of all sins through that blood, a pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus blood.

It is true, as you have observed, that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a man righteous. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, whether learned or unlearned, and all need the same Saviour. The goodness of God in sparing life and giving time is meant to lead sinners to repentance, not to harden them. So we do not boast, nor do we look down upon others, but we confess our own need and plead for mercy for them as for ourselves.

Therefore we pray with you. Heavenly Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, that Thou wouldst pour out Thy Spirit upon these souls and work in them that brokenness of heart which Thou wilt not despise. Give them to see their sin as Thou seest it, to hate it and to turn from it, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and for righteousness. Teach those who are Thine to be kept by Thy blood in peace and understanding, and to walk in compassion. For those yet outside of Christ, grant them repentance unto life and faith to look to Jesus and live, that they may know remission of sins preached in His name. Let Thy will be done, and let Thy name be exalted. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Christ is worthy, and His blood pleads for sinners. Amen.

Your prayer for a thirst for truth and righteousness is good and right, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord Jesus Christ.

We pray with you that God would work in the hearts of those you have named, their lawyers and representatives, and draw them to Himself. Scripture says, blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled, and Jesus Himself cried out, if anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. Only He can give living water that becomes a well springing up to everlasting life, so that those who drink will never thirst again. We ask that God would create in them that holy thirst, not a passing interest, but an unquenchable longing for what is true and right before Him.

We pray also as you have prayed from Psalm 51, that God would grant them a broken and contrite heart, which He will not despise. Such a heart does not rise up or seek vengeance, but is quiet, humble, and ready to turn from sin. We ask the Lord to convict them where they have disregarded human life and honest communication, to show them their sin clearly, and to lead them to hate sin and turn from it. Forgiveness and new life are found only through faith in Jesus Christ, who alone saves, and we pray they would confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead.

We ask God to clothe those who belong to Christ with the breastplate of righteousness, a life of virtue that guards the heart and cannot be pierced by the enemy. And for all involved, we pray for true righteousness and holiness of truth, not merely outward correctness, but the inward work that comes through new birth in Christ. May God teach them to be compassionate and just, to love what He loves and to walk in His ways.

We thank God that His Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and we thank Him for your own humility in prayer, not boasting and not looking down on others, but recognizing that all have fallen short and need His mercy. May the Lord give you perseverance in prayer, keeping you sober and watchful, and may His will be done.
