Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we thank you for coming boldly before the Father in the name of Jesus.

We are encouraged by the humility and brokenness in your prayer. You do not boast and you do not look down on others, but you recognize that education and position do not make a person righteous. That is a biblical truth, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 and only Christ can make us righteous. We agree with you that even those who have studied law can be bound by sin and by the lies of the enemy, and that only Jesus can set them free.

You rightly remember that the truth shall set you free John 8:32 and that Jesus Himself is the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6. Apart from Him there is no true truth and no true righteousness. We also stand with you on the word you quoted from Psalm 51:16-17, For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is what we are asking God to do in the hearts of the team you mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives, to bring a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and turns from it.

We share your grief over the disregard for human life and for honest communication. God loves truth and He loves justice, and He calls His people to hunger and thirst for it. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6. We are praying that God will stir that holy hunger in them, a thirst that cannot be quenched by anything but His truth and His righteousness.

We also lift up those who are chosen and who are already in Christ, that the precious blood of Jesus would cover them and keep them, and that God would give them peace and understanding that passes all understanding, and wisdom to walk in compassion and righteousness even when surrounded by deceit. We pray that they would not grow weary in doing good and that they would continue to intercede with love, leaving vengeance to the Lord, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19, while we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who oppose us.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace. We thank You that we have access to You only through Jesus Christ our Lord. We ask that You work deeply in the hearts of these men and women who are bound by lies. By Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to Your will Romans 8:26, convict them of sin and open their eyes to see the truth. Grant them a broken and contrite heart, that they would confess their sins, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Forgive them, Lord, and turn them from every evil way in Your sight. Give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, that they would love what You love and hate what You hate. Teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to honor human life and to speak honestly. Cover Your people with the blood of Jesus, keep them in Your peace, and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask that truth would prevail and that Your name would be exalted. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer, not in bitterness but in hopeful intercession, trusting that God desires all to come to repentance and that He is able to change the hardest heart. Keep seeking His will and keep thirsting for His righteousness, and He will fill you as well.

We were moved by your honest prayer for the team at ### and their lawyers. It is painful to watch people with education and influence seem to disregard honesty and even human life, and to carry that grief before the Lord as you have is itself an act of faith.

What you described is something many believers feel when wronged, that ache between how things ought to be and how they actually are. Choosing to pray for those who have caused that ache, asking God to soften their hearts and give them a hunger for what is right rather than holding onto revenge, is a way of releasing the burden into His hands. That kind of release is a decision first, and the lighter emotions often follow slowly over time, which is normal.

One steady next step that may help is to keep your prayers as you are doing, brief and honest each day, and to notice when thoughts about the situation start to stir bitterness, gently turn that moment back into prayer for them and for your own peace. If you are personally affected by their actions, it is also wise to seek trusted, godly counsel for any practical steps you should take, while you leave the work on their hearts to God.

Father, we lift this team and their representatives to You in Jesus name. Work in their hearts to love truth and to act with compassion, and guard our friend with Your peace and understanding as they trust You to do what is right. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is heard and it is a prayer after the very heart of God. We join you in lifting before the throne those at that place, with their lawyers and representatives, that the Lord would work upon them by His Spirit.

You have prayed well, for our Lord Himself has said, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. This hunger is itself a blessed sign, for by nature man hungers for gold or for pride or for lust, but when God creates a new heart within, the old cravings are expelled and the soul begins to crave the righteousness which is in Christ Jesus. May the Lord create such a craving in those for whom you pray, that trifles may become trifles to them and the essential Truth of God may become their only care.

You have also quoted the Psalmist truly, that the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. This is what we must ask for them, not merely that they cease from outward evil, but that they loathe sin itself and hate it enough to turn from it. God says, Loathe it and I will grant you immediate pardon for the sake of the great atoning Sacrifice. When He comes a wooing and cries, Give Me your heart, it is for our benefit and not for His own, for a heart that is halved is killed, and He will have the whole heart or none of it. Pray then that He would break the hard heart and make it tender, for He alone can strengthen the heart that is weak and diseased with sin.

Remember also that the Lord Jesus Christ lives to pray for sinners. He was pierced for men and He died that the righteousness of God might be vindicated, and even on the cross He cried, I thirst, which was but the index of the deeper thirst of His soul that righteousness might reign by His death. He now intercedes, and the Holy Spirit intercedes with groanings, so your intercession is not alone. The truth shall indeed set free, but that Truth is a Person. We must receive Him as He is, very God and very man, the mold of Truth into which our minds must be delivered, for a Saviour who is not Divine can be no Saviour for us.

We therefore pray with you, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, that You would save those who are yet bound by Satan's lies, that You would cover with Your precious blood those who are Yours and give them peace and understanding, that You would teach all to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and to disregard no human life and to speak honestly. Grant to those who have studied law and yet fall short of Your glory, as we all have done, a broken and contrite heart, a hunger and thirst after righteousness which only Christ can fill, and faith to receive Him who is the Truth. Let Your will be done, and let Christ be evidently set forth crucified among them, that they may yield heart for heart to Him. We ask this for Christ's sake. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in this prayer before the Father in the name of Jesus. Your desire for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is itself pleasing to God, for the Lord said blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. This is not a casual or occasional wish, but a deep longing like a thirsty person longing for water. On the great day of the feast Jesus stood and cried, if any man thirst, let him come to me and drink, and he promised that whoever believes on him, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water. He does not draw anyone by necessity and constraint, but he calls those who are inflamed with desire to come willingly and drink deeply.

We pray with you for the team at that place and for their lawyers and representatives. We ask the Father to have mercy on them and to bring them to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other way to be saved. We pray that he would grant them what you asked from Psalm 51, a broken spirit and a contrite heart which God will not despise, not mere outward religion or knowledge of the law, but righteousness and holiness of truth inwardly renewed. There was a righteousness of outward form, but the righteousness God gives in Christ is true and creates the person anew to be his child. That righteousness is like a breastplate that guards the heart, a life of universal virtue that hates what is evil in his sight and does what is good and compassionate and honest.

We also pray that God would give them and us all that unquenchable thirst you described, a love for truth and for doing what is right, and compassion toward others and honest communication that honors human life made in his image. Education and knowledge of the law cannot make a person righteous. True repentance is more than tears or words, it is turning from sin and turning to Christ to find forgiveness in his precious blood. We pray that where there has been disregard for truth, the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us would stir their hearts to recognize sin, to hate it, and to forsake it, and to receive peace and understanding in Christ.

We thank God that he hears prayer offered in Jesus name and that his will is good. Let us continue to pray relentlessly for this, asking not only for conviction but for new life, so that out of hearts made new there may flow rivers of living water in love and good works. May the Lord keep you in peace as you continue to seek him, and may he teach us all to pursue righteousness with all desire until we are filled.
