Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we agree with you in Jesus name for all those involved.

It is right and good to pray this way, for our Lord desires truth in the inward parts and He calls us to hunger and thirst for what is right. Jesus said you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32, and He Himself is the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6. Apart from Him there is no true righteousness and no lasting freedom from the lies of the enemy. We also join you in praying for those who are chosen and who know Christ, that the precious blood of Jesus would continue to cover them and keep them in perfect peace, for we are kept by His mercy and not by our own strength.

We love your humility in acknowledging that education and legal training do not make a person righteous, and that we all fall short. As it is written all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23, and God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4. The Lord is not impressed by degrees or arguments but by a broken heart, for you have quoted rightly a broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise Psalm 51:17. We pray with you that God would give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them as He promised I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you Ezekiel 36:26, so that they would not only recognize their sin but hate it and turn from it.

We are grieved with you over the disregard for human life and for honest communication, and we know this grieves the Holy Spirit as well. Yet we take comfort that the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered Romans 8:26, and that God is able to work even in hard hearts. We pray that He would stir them deeply to hunger and thirst for righteousness, for blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6. May the Lord teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to love mercy and to do justly, and to let their yes be yes and their no be no Matthew 5:37, walking in truth rather than deception.

We pray together now, Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this team and their lawyers and legal representatives to You. Lord, where they are bound by lies, shine Your light and set them free by Your truth. Forgive their sins as You have forgiven ours, and grant them repentance that leads to life. Break their hearts where they are hardened, give them godly sorrow that produces a true turning away from what is evil in Your eyes. Cover Your people who belong to You with the blood of Jesus, grant them peace that passes understanding and wisdom beyond their own. Teach all of us to thirst for You above all else, to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness Matthew 6:33, and to walk in compassion and integrity. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and let Your name be exalted. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are thankful you shared this prayer with us. Your longing for truth to prevail and for hearts to turn toward what is right and compassionate comes through clearly, and we join you in that longing.

We also hear how heavy it is to watch people with education and influence act in ways that seem to disregard honest communication and the value of others. That kind of disappointment can sit deep, and it is right to bring it to the Father and ask Him to work where only He can, in the heart. Your prayer for a broken and contrite spirit, for a real thirst for truth, reflects love rather than looking down on others.

One thing that has helped us when we pray for those who have wronged others is to notice there are two parts to releasing a hurt to God. One is a quiet decision to leave revenge and judgment in His hands and to desire good for the other person, even while we still care about truth and accountability. The other is the slower softening of our own emotions, which often takes time and repeated prayer. Both can grow as we keep asking the Holy Spirit to intercede, as you are already doing.

If this situation touches your own life directly, it can help to keep praying with one or two mature believers who know the details and can walk with you, so you do not carry the burden alone.

Father, we lift the team at ### and their lawyers and representatives to You in Jesus name. Work in each heart, bring conviction where it is needed and give a real thirst for truth and righteousness. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, teach us all to walk in compassion, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a right and needful prayer, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ.

It is indeed written, the truth shall set you free, and that truth is not a mere notion but the Truth of God's salvation in Christ. A saving knowledge of the truth works in this way, that when a man comes to know his real sin he flies to a real Saviour, and when he knows the truth about faith in Christ he trusts Christ and is saved from the guilt of sin and begins to be saved altogether from its power. Salvation is of the Lord alone. You have to accept grace from Christ for nothing and He will delight to give it to you.

You have prayed well from Psalm 51, for you do not delight in sacrifice, or else we would give it, but the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Very closely allied to great sorrow is one of the greatest spiritual blessings, namely, a spiritually broken heart, broken on account of sin. He who has chosen One whose own heart was broken to bind up broken hearts knows your temptations as well as your sorrows.

We pray with you for the team at that place and for their lawyers and legal representatives. We do not boast before God, for all have fallen short of His glory, and education and knowledge of the law cannot make a man righteous. There must be sorrow for sin and hatred of it in true repentance. Beware of that repentance which is superficial, for the Lord abhors it. The really repentant one hates sin as sin and turns from it with purpose of heart. Such repentance stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven and then repents more than ever, saying, I know my sins are forgiven, but now their pain to me is all the grief and anguish they laid, my Lord, on You. A sense of blood bought pardon soon dissolves a heart of stone.

So we ask the Lord Jesus, who lives to give repentance and remission of sins and who lives to pray for sinners, to work upon these hearts. May He cover with His precious blood all who are His, and give peace and understanding to those who trust Him. May He stir those who are yet bound by Satan's lies and bring them to see their sin as God sees it, to loathe it with a perfect hatred because it is hateful to the heart of Jesus, and to turn from it. Remember the griefs which Jesus bore put His own soul into a tempest of grief, and the heart which was broken for our sins was His own heart and the life given up was His own life. By His stripes you were healed. The cure for sin is to take your dear Lord's wounds and trust them, to take His griefs and rest in them, to take Himself and love Him.

We pray that the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us would create in them that thirst you have asked for, not a passing wish but an unquenchable thirst for truth and for righteousness, that they may love honest communication, regard human life as sacred before God, and walk in compassion. May they be taught to be righteous not in the righteousness of the law but in the righteousness which is of God by faith in Christ, and to bear the marks of those who live for God and for eternity.

Continue in relentless prayer, for our Lord has bidden His apostles to go and preach repentance and remission of sins in His name among all nations, and He says still, Turn from your sin and I will turn from My anger, quit your sin and your sin is forgiven. Leave it, loathe it, and He will grant immediate pardon for the sake of the great atoning sacrifice.

May the Lord grant such repentance as glorifies God, and may His will be done, for Christ's sake. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been received and we join you in bringing these burdens before the Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving for your hunger for truth and righteousness.

It is good and right that you thirst for what is true and right before God. Scripture says blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled, and our Lord Himself stood and cried, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink. He alone is the living water that never fails, and out of those who believe in Him flows rivers of living water. This thirst is not satisfied by human learning or legal skill, but only by coming to Christ in faith, confessing with the mouth the Lord Jesus and believing in the heart that God raised Him from the dead.

We pray with you for the team you named and for their lawyers and legal representatives. We ask the Father in Jesus name to have mercy upon them, to open their eyes to the lies that bind them, and to grant them the gift of a broken and contrite heart. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but He will not despise a broken spirit and a contrite heart that turns from sin and hates sin. We pray that He would grant them repentance that leads to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved, and that He would teach them to love truth, to honor human life, and to speak honestly in all things. May they be clothed with righteousness as with a breastplate, which is a life of true virtue and holiness of truth, not the mere form of righteousness, and may they learn compassion and self control as they walk before God.

We also pray for those who are in Christ, that the precious blood of Jesus would cover them and keep them, and that the Holy Spirit would give them peace and understanding and guard them in this grievous conflict against spiritual wickedness. May He keep them sober, watchful and steadfast, hungering still for righteousness and abounding in prayer, humility, mercy and thanksgiving.

We thank God that His Spirit intercedes for us according to His will, and we encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer, not wearying of asking, seeking and knocking. God hears the prayers offered in the name of Jesus with a humble and contrite heart, and He is able to stir hearts, to convict of sin, and to lead sinners to new life in righteousness and true holiness.

Father, let Your will be done. Grant to all concerned an unquenchable thirst for Your truth and Your righteousness, and draw each one to drink deeply of Christ. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Your prayer reflects a sincere burden for truth and for souls, and it is right to bring that burden to the Father in the name of Jesus. It is deeply grievous to see dishonesty and a disregard for human life, especially from those who are educated and entrusted with the law, and it is good that you do not look down on them with pride but grieve for them and ask God to work in their hearts.

Scripture speaks of a thirst that lives deep inside every person. It is not only a physical thirst or an emotional longing, but a thirst of the spirit for God Himself, for a real and living relationship with Him. People try to fill that thirst with many other things, yet those things do not satisfy. Jesus spoke to that thirst when He said, if anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Only He can quench the thirst for God because He is God, and He alone gives the living water that satisfies the soul. Your request that God would give an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is in line with His promise that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled. That hunger is itself a gift from God, and He delights to fill it.

You are also right to see that education or knowledge of the law does not make a person righteous. Many have zeal but not according to true knowledge, and they try to establish their own righteousness by their works or their standing. The Bible teaches that true righteousness is not earned. It is given by God and credited to us through faith in Jesus Christ. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness, before any outward sign. In the same way, to the one who does not trust in his own works but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. God has provided that righteousness through Jesus, who took the curse for sin upon Himself on the cross, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

This helps us understand how mercy and truth meet together, and how righteousness and peace kiss each other. Justice requires that sin be judged, and mercy desires that the sinner be forgiven. Both are satisfied at the cross, where the penalty was paid by Christ. Through faith in His blood, God can forgive sin and still remain just, and He can give peace to the one who comes to Him.

You quoted Psalm 51 well. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone. What He desires and will not despise is a broken spirit and a contrite heart that recognizes sin, hates it, and turns from it. It is right to pray that God would so work on hearts that they see their sin as He sees it and turn to Him for forgiveness. That work is needed for every person, for all have fallen short of His glory.

Do not blame God for the evil and dishonesty you see. Evil, death, and injustice come from sin in this fallen world, not from the heart of God. God is the one who has made the way of reconciliation through Jesus, and His grace that brings salvation has appeared to all. Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation, and He continues to call people to come while the door is open.

We join you in praying that the Lord will have mercy on those you mentioned, that He will cover and keep those who are His and give them peace and understanding, and that He will draw those who do not yet know Him to see their need, to thirst for Him, and to receive the righteousness that comes only through faith in Jesus. May He teach all of us to walk in truth and compassion, to hunger for what is right in His eyes, and to rest in the forgiveness and new life He gives so freely.

May the Lord hear your prayer, stir hearts toward repentance and faith, and let His will be done as you continue to intercede.
