Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we agree with you before the Father in Jesus name.

We are encouraged by your humility and your heart that does not boast and does not look down on others but recognizes that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God as it is written in Rom 3:23. It is true that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a heart righteous, for righteousness comes only from God. We also share your grief over dishonesty and the disregarding of human life and honest communication, for the Lord hates lying lips and delights in those who deal truly.

We stand with you in praying for the team you mentioned and for their lawyers and legal representatives. God calls us to pray for all people, even those who oppose us or who may be bound in deception. As it is written in 1 Tim 2:1 we exhort that petitions, prayers, intercessions and givings of thanks be made for all men, and in Matt 5:44 we are told to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness, and we know that Satan is the father of lies.

We rejoice that you have come to the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only by that name that we have access to God and it is only by that name that anyone can be saved. As it is written in John 14:6 Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved.

We cling to the promises you have prayed. Jesus said in John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. And He promised in Matt 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. We ask the Lord to create that very hunger and thirst in these hearts. We pray that He will give them a new heart as He promised in Ezek 36:26 I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And we pray with you from Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this team and their lawyers and all who advise them. We ask that You expose every lie and let Your truth shine. Remove the veil that Satan has placed over their eyes and set them free by Your truth. We ask that You cover those who are Yours with the precious blood of Jesus, grant them peace that passes understanding and wisdom to walk in righteousness and compassion. For those who are still bound in sin, we ask for Your mercy. If we confess our sins, You are faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness as You promise in 1 John 1:9. Grant them a broken and contrite heart, that they may recognize their sin, hate their sin, and turn from it and do what is good and right in Your eyes. Teach them to love justice, to value human life, and to speak honestly. Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that will not be satisfied until they are filled by You. We thank You that Your Holy Spirit helps our weaknesses and intercedes for us as it is written in Rom 8:26, and we trust Your will to be done.

We encourage you to remain relentless in prayer and not grow weary, for as it is written in Gal 6:9 Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up. The Lord hears the prayers of the righteous and He delights in truth in the inward parts. We will continue to seek Him with you for justice, mercy and salvation for all involved, trusting that He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We appreciate you bringing this burden before the Lord so honestly. We hear both your grief over dishonesty and disregard for life, and your humble desire not to look down on others but to see God soften hearts toward truth and compassion.

It can be especially disheartening when people with training and influence still choose what is wrong, and it is understandable that this would weigh on you. What stood out to us is your humility in acknowledging that education alone does not make a person righteous, and your desire for their good rather than for retaliation. Praying for others in this way does not excuse wrongdoing, it simply places both justice and mercy in God's hands.

Carrying this kind of intercession can become heavy if it stays on your mind all day. One steady practice that helps many of us is to keep a simple rhythm of prayer for them at a set time, as you are doing, and then intentionally entrust them to the Lord afterward, allowing His Spirit to continue the work only He can do in a heart.

Father, we lift this team and their representatives to You in Jesus name. Work in their hearts to love truth and to turn from what is evil in Your sight. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, and teach us all to walk in righteousness and compassion. Let Your will be done. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a right and holy petition, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ.

You have done well to turn to Psalm 51, for there the Lord shows what sacrifice He will not despise. You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it, you are not pleased with burnt offering. My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is the repentance which God Himself works by His Spirit, not a poor and short lived sorrow which turns from sin for a time and then returns to it with greater gusto, but a true change of mind which gives glory to God.

True repentance gives glory to the omniscience of God, confessing that He sees all, and it gives glory to the righteousness of God in His law, saying with the penitent, Your law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. And as it is written in the children's hymn, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. Such repentance is inseparable from faith, for no faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Christ who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood.

We therefore pray with you that the Lord, in His great goodness which leads sinners to repentance, would work upon the hearts of those of whom you speak, the team and their lawyers and representatives. That He would convince them of sin, stir their consciences, and grant them that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of, a sorrow not for unpardoned sin only, but that sweet and exquisite sorrow for pardoned sin at the feet of Jesus. May they be led to hate the sin they once loved, to thirst after righteousness as the thirsty pant for water, and to seek truth not as a policy but as a principle wrought in the heart by the Holy Spirit. For where there is real sorrow for sin, and an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, there is the full and free forgiveness of all sins through Jesus Christ, a pardon bought with Jesus blood, even for the most horrible and oft repeated offenses, if the sinner has truly repented and believed.

We ask the Lord to cover His own chosen ones with the precious blood of Christ, to give them peace and understanding, and to teach them to be righteous and compassionate as He is. And for those yet bound in lies and disregard for human life and honest communication, we pray that they may look to Jesus and live, for to look to Him is to find both repentance and remission. May the Sun of Righteousness arise upon them with healing in His wings, that they may no longer boast nor trust in education or station, but come as broken sinners to Him who came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

We commend this burden to Him who intercedes for us, and we pray that He would grant you also a deeper thirst, and to all of us a practical repentance which yields works meet for repentance and endures, not for a day or a month, but for a life, to the glory of His holy name. Let His will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord Jesus Christ.

You have prayed well, for this is the very thirst to which Christ calls us. As it is written, blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. The Lord Himself stood and cried, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink. He does not draw us by necessity and constraint, but He calls those who are inflamed with desire, who come as thirsty men come to water and eagerly receive what is given. This is the thirst you ask for, not only for these lawyers and their representatives, but for all of us, that out of our hearts may flow rivers of living water. Material water leaves a man thirsty again, but the water Christ gives becomes in him a well springing up into everlasting life.

We join you in praying for the team at that place and for those who represent them, that God would have mercy and save them through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which we are saved, and no other way to true righteousness. The righteousness we need is not a figure or an outward show, but righteousness and holiness of truth, which comes when a person is made new in Christ. We pray that God would give them what only He can give, a broken and contrite heart. As you quoted from Psalm 51, God does not delight in outward sacrifice, but a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. Such a heart does not rise up or seek to strike back, it is quiet under insult and does not seek vengeance, it is ready to acknowledge sin and hate it and turn from it. We ask the Lord to work this in them, to grant compunction and repentance and humility, that they may see their sin truly and turn from what is evil in His eyes.

You are right to note that education and knowledge of the law do not make a person righteous. Righteousness is like a breastplate, an inward life of virtue fixed in the heart, and without it a man is vulnerable even if he is learned. Many may wound him, but the one clothed in true righteousness stands firm. We pray that God would teach these men and women to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and honest communication and to regard human life as He does.

We also pray for you, that the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us would keep you from boasting and from looking down on others, and would keep you sober and watchful and full of prayer. The gifts we most need are a contrite and humbled heart, self possessed and full of repentance, for our wrestling is against spiritual wickedness and we need His strength to stand.

So we pray with you: Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy on these souls. Forgive their sins, cover those who are Yours with the precious blood of Christ and give them peace and understanding. Stir the hearts of those who do not yet know You, grant them to confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus and to believe in the heart that You raised Him from the dead, that they may be saved. Give to all of us an unquenchable thirst for Your truth and Your righteousness, and make us to drink deeply of the living water. Let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness reflects a heart that longs for what God Himself promises to satisfy. Jesus said blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled, and that promise points to a thirst that only He can answer. There is in every person a deep thirst for God, like a deer panting for water, and we try to fill it with many other things, but it is God who planted that thirst and only a living relationship with Him through Christ can quench it. When Jesus invites anyone who thirsts to come to Him and drink, He is speaking of that spiritual thirst being met in Himself.

Your reference to Psalm 51 is right at the center of this. God does not delight in outward religious performance for its own sake, but in a broken and contrite heart. That is the sacrifice He will not despise. To pray that God would work on hearts so that sin is not only recognized but hated and turned from is to pray according to His will. True conviction leads not to self justification but to humility before Him.

Scripture is also clear that the righteousness we need is not a righteousness we establish by our own effort or education or careful keeping of rules. Many have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge, being ignorant of the righteousness God has provided and going about to establish their own. The law shows us we fall short, but God imputes righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ. His righteousness is imparted to us when we believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess Him with our mouths. No one can be good enough on their own, whether learned or unlearned, and that keeps us from boasting or looking down on others. As it is written, out of the heart are the issues of life, and what matters is the motivation and condition of the heart before God, not outward appearance. Man looks on the outward, God looks on the heart.

It is right to grieve over disregard for human life and dishonest communication, and to pray for those who are entangled in lies to be set free by the truth. Jesus said the truth shall set you free, and that freedom comes as the Spirit bears witness to the truth of Christ in the heart. At the same time God reserves judgment to Himself and His judgment is according to truth, because He alone knows what is in the heart. We are not given the place of judging the inner motives of others, but we are called to keep our own hearts with diligence, to examine our own loves lest idols take the place that belongs to God alone, and to leave the judgment of others to Him while we intercede for them.

So we can pray with you that God would draw that team and their legal representatives to Himself, that those who do not yet know Christ would be saved through faith in Him alone, and that those who do know Him would be covered, given peace and understanding, and taught to walk in righteousness, mercy and compassion. We pray that God would stir in each of them a genuine thirst for truth and for His righteousness, that He would grant repentance and a broken spirit where there has been hardness, and that they would turn from what is evil in His eyes and learn to do what is right. We pray that the Holy Spirit, who intercedes for us, would work in them to reveal sin, to create a hatred for it, and to lead them to the only One who can forgive and make new.

May the Lord continue to give you compassion without self righteousness, and a steady hunger for His truth that keeps you coming to Jesus to be filled.
