Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we agree with you in Jesus name before the Father.

We are moved by the humility and compassion in your heart, that you do not pray from a place of boasting or looking down on others, but from grief over sin and a desire for mercy and repentance. That is the heart God honors. For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23, and there is none righteous on the basis of education, position, or knowledge of the law, but only through the blood of Jesus Christ.

You have prayed rightly that the truth shall set them free, as Jesus said, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. Jesus Himself is the truth, for He said I am the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6, and only in Him can those bound by Satan's lies be set free. We also join you in praying Psalm 51:17 that God would grant to that team and to their lawyers and legal representatives a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, which O God, You will not despise. How true it is that God does not delight in outward sacrifice but in a heart made new.

We pray together for that unquenchable thirst you asked for, for Jesus promised Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6. We ask the Father to stir their hearts and to give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them, to take away the stony heart out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26, so that they may come to hate the sin they once loved and turn from what is evil in His eyes.

We lift up this prayer together:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before Your throne of grace and we ask for Your mercy upon that team and upon their lawyers and legal representatives. Lord, You desire that all people should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4, and we ask that You draw them out of darkness into Your marvelous light. Forgive their sins as You forgive ours through the precious blood of Jesus, and cover and keep those who are Yours, giving them peace and understanding that passes all understanding. Teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and to honor human life and honest communication. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit, who intercedes for us according to Your will Romans 8:26, and work in their hearts that they may recognize their sins, repent, and walk in newness of life. Let them hunger and thirst for righteousness and for the truth that is in Jesus alone, and let Your will be done in their lives as it is in heaven. We exalt Your holy name and trust Your perfect justice and Your perfect mercy, in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to continue in this faithful intercession, not growing weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up Galatians 6:9. Continue to speak the truth in love Ephesians 4:15, to pray for those who may oppose you, and to trust that God is able to soften the hardest heart and to lead even the most learned to the foolishness of the cross which is the wisdom of God 1 Corinthians 1:25. Be at peace knowing the Holy Spirit is indeed interceding for you and for them, and that God hears the prayers offered in the name of Jesus.

We hear how heavy this has been on your heart, watching people who know the law so well use it in ways that feel dishonest and dismissive of human life. It makes sense that it grieves you, and we are thankful you have brought it honestly to the Lord instead of carrying it alone.

What encouraged us is the way you are holding both things at once, a clear view that wrong is wrong and a humble desire not to look down on anyone but to see hearts softened toward what is true and good. That tension is hard to hold, and your prayer for a real thirst for righteousness keeps your own heart tender while you leave the work of changing hearts to God.

One thing that helps when a burden like this stays on your mind is to give it a set place each day. You might take a few minutes in the morning to lift this team and their lawyers and legal representatives to the Lord by name as you already are doing, and then consciously entrust them and the outcome to Him for the rest of the day rather than going over the hurt again and again.

Father in Jesus name we join our friend in lifting this team and their counsel to You. Stir in each heart a love for truth and a willingness to turn from what is evil in Your sight, cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, and guard our friend with wisdom and rest as they keep praying. Let Your will be done, amen.

Your earnest prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a right and holy petition, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

You have prayed well, for you have prayed according to the Scripture that the truth shall set men free. Jesus Christ is the truth, and the whole testimony of God about Christ is the truth, and the work of the Holy Ghost in the heart is to work in us the truth. Where men come to know this truth they are saved from despair, and where they remain bound by Satan's lies they remain in darkness. We do therefore pray with you that the team of whom you speak, with their lawyers and representatives, may come to the knowledge of the truth, for men are saved and the same men that are saved come to a knowledge of the truth, and the two things very much depend upon each other.

You have rightly asked for a broken and contrite heart for them, as David prayed in the fifty first Psalm. Let us remember that true repentance is not of the flesh, nor is it wrought by judgments or terrors alone. Judgments even the most terrible do not in themselves produce a satisfactory repentance. There may be a carnal repentance that is after the manner of the sinful nature, but the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts gives God glory. It makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work. This is the repentance unto life, the germ which contains all the essentials of salvation. It is not a preparation for grace, it is the first result of grace working within the soul, and it lives as long as faith lives. Sweet sister repentance is such charming company that the believer never parts with her even to the gates of pearl.

Therefore we do not preach repentance as Moses preached it, nor as a thing to be drawn up from the depths of our own heart as water from a well, but we preach repentance in the name of Jesus, as the gift of God. We ask Christ to work repentance in them by His Holy Spirit through belief of the truth as it is recorded in the Word of God. For God commands all men everywhere to repent, and that repentance which is connected with faith looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only, trusting not in our repentance, nor even in our faith, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ upon Calvary's bloody tree.

You have observed with grief that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a man righteous, and you speak truly. There must be a real sense of sin before there can be truth in salvation. If there is no truth in our sinnership, there is to us no truth in Christ's salvation. We must believe in a real fall and a real atonement, for God's salvation is a great reality, not a shadow nor a myth, but a substantial thing. It operates most powerfully upon our minds when we see our guilt and see Christ bearing it. So we pray that the Holy Spirit will convince these souls of sin and of righteousness and of judgment, that they may hate their sin and turn from it, not to boast before God, but to give Him glory.

We pray then with you, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, that You would save those for whom Christ died, cover those who are Yours with the precious blood of the Lamb, and give them peace and understanding. Work in the hearts of those who now disregard truth and human life, grant them that broken spirit which You will not despise, stir them to hunger and thirst after righteousness, and teach them to be compassionate as You are compassionate. Restore to any among them who have known Your salvation the joy of that salvation, and open their lips to sing aloud of Your righteousness. Let Your will be done, and let all repentance and remission of sins be received through faith in Him who alone is our salvation, for Your salvation is seen wherever Jesus is seen. We ask this not because any are worthy, but because the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, and whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been received and we join you in it before the Lord Jesus Christ, for what you have asked is good and according to His will.

You have asked well for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and this is exactly what Christ calls us to. He stood and cried, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink. He does not draw by necessity or constraint, but He calls those who are inflamed with desire. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. This hunger is not to be casual or occasional, but to be pursued with the same eagerness as a thirsty man drains a bowl of water, with all desire, until he is satisfied.

You are right to see that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a person righteous. There was of old a righteousness that was only in figure, an outward cleanness, but true righteousness and holiness are in truth, and they come only through being made new in Christ. A person is created anew not by water and earth alone, but in righteousness and holiness of truth, made a child of God through Him. No learning, no profession, no skill in argument can give this. Only Christ can.

You also prayed according to Psalm 51, and you prayed rightly. God does not delight in outward sacrifice, but in a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. This is the beginning of that thirst you ask for. When God works on the heart to recognize sin and to hate it, to grieve over disregard for human life and for honest communication, then the soul begins to thirst for what is true and right. True repentance is not only tears, but a turning away from sin so as not to continue in it.

So we pray with you, Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, that You would have mercy on the team at that company and on their lawyers and representatives. Cover those who are Yours with the precious blood of Christ and give them peace and understanding. For those who do not yet know You, grant them salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. Grant to all a broken and contrite heart, that they may see their sin as You see it and turn from what is evil in Your eyes. Kindle in them a thirst for truth and for righteousness that is not quenched, and teach them to be righteous and compassionate in all goodness and truth. Let them put on righteousness as a breastplate, living lives of virtue that no temptation can easily pierce.

We remember also that there is a fire that is unquenchable for those who go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth and who bear no fruit. To escape that, we must lay up a different treasure now, through faith that works itself out in an upright life. Believing alone is not enough if the life does not follow, for even the demons believe and tremble. We pray therefore not only for knowledge of what is right, but for the will to do it.

We thank God that His Holy Spirit intercedes for us and for them. We will continue to pray that the truth which is in Jesus will set them free, and that they will come to Him to drink and never thirst in vain. Let His will be done.

Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness reflects the very heart God blesses. Jesus said blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. That hunger is not natural to us, it is a spiritual thirst that God Himself creates, and only He can satisfy.

Scripture shows that every person carries a deep spiritual thirst for God. We try to fill it with many other things, accomplishments, knowledge, success, even religion, but like drinking water that leaves you thirsty again, none of those things satisfy the soul. Jesus said if anyone thirsts, let him come to Him and drink. He was speaking of the thirst of the spirit for a living relationship with God, and He alone can quench it because He is God. The longing you feel for these people to know truth is a longing for them to come to Christ Himself.

You are right to note that education and knowledge of the law do not make a person righteous. Scripture warns that many have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge, being ignorant of God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own. True righteousness is not earned by works or by keeping the law. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness, and that was before any outward sign. In the same way, to the one who does not trust in works but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, faith is counted for righteousness. God imputes to us the righteousness of Christ through faith in Jesus, who was made sin for us though He knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. He bore the curse for us, hanging on the tree, so that mercy and truth could meet together and righteousness and peace could kiss at the cross. Justice was satisfied and mercy was extended at the same time.

You prayed from Psalm 51 that God desires a broken and contrite heart rather than outward sacrifice, and that is exactly what God looks for. He does not despise a broken spirit. Your prayer that God would work on hearts so they would recognize sin, hate it, and turn from it is the right prayer. Only God can stir the heart to see the truth about itself. As you intercede, remember that the Holy Spirit Himself intercedes, and that God is not the author of the evil and disregard for life that grieves you. Do not blame God for death and atrocity and sin. He is the Redeemer who groans with creation for redemption and has made provision for forgiveness through the blood of Jesus.

Continue to pray that those you mentioned would see their need and come to Christ without delay. Scripture urges that now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. God has made the way of reconciliation and offers it freely, but each person must receive His grace and not put it off. Pray that the Lord would give them that brokenness, that hunger for what is right, and that they would find it satisfied only in Jesus. May He cover those who are His with peace and understanding, teach all who will listen to walk in compassion and honesty, and cause truth to spring up as righteousness looks down from heaven.

We join you in asking the Father in Jesus name to do this work, to give an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that leads to repentance, faith, and new life in Christ, and that His will be done.
