Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we thank God for your heart that seeks His will and intercedes even for those who may have opposed you or acted unjustly. It is a Christlike heart to pray for those bound by lies and to desire their salvation and transformation rather than their condemnation.

You are right to cling to the promise that truth sets free, for Jesus said, you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. And Jesus Himself is the truth, for He said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. We also join you in praying for that hunger for righteousness, for Jesus said Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6. Only God can create that thirst and only He can satisfy it.

We agree that education or position does not make a person righteous, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23, and there is none righteous, no, not one Romans 3:10. We all need the same mercy. We appreciate your humility in not boasting and not looking down on those lawyers and legal representatives, but recognizing that without Christ we all fall short. God calls all people, including those in positions of influence and law, to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God Micah 6:8 and to learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed Isaiah 1:17. When justice is distorted and human life and honest communication are disregarded, it grieves the heart of God and it rightly grieves us.

We love that you lifted up Psalm 51:16-17, for You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. That is the work only the Holy Spirit can do, to soften a hard heart and bring conviction of sin and godly sorrow that leads to repentance. We also take comfort that the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered Romans 8:26 and that God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4.

We pray together now in Jesus name.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior. We ask that You pour out Your mercy on the team mentioned and on their lawyers and legal representatives. Where Satan has blinded minds with lies, we ask that You shine the light of the gospel and set them free, for if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36. We plead the precious blood of Jesus over those who are Yours, that You would cover them and keep them in Your perfect peace which surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7, giving them wisdom and understanding beyond their own.

Father, work deeply in the hearts of those who have not yet known You. Grant them a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and turns from it, for to fear Yahweh is to hate evil Proverbs 8:13. Teach them to love truth and to thirst for righteousness, to regard human life as made in Your image and to speak with honesty and integrity. Forgive their sins as only You can through the cross, and let them not continue to do what is evil in Your eyes, but transform them by the renewing of their minds Romans 12:2. Stir them, Lord, that they may seek You while You may be found Isaiah 55:6 and come to repentance.

We thank You for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us all. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven Matthew 6:10. Strengthen our brother and sister who prays to continue steadfastly, to pray without ceasing 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and not to grow weary in doing good Galatians 6:9, trusting that You are just and faithful to bring justice in Your perfect time.

We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear the weight and sincerity in your prayer for truth and righteousness to prevail, and for those at ### and their lawyers to come to repentance. It grieves to watch people who know the law disregard honesty and human dignity, and it says much about your heart that you are asking God to soften theirs rather than seeking revenge.

What you described, wanting them to recognize sin and to thirst for what is right while also asking God to cover and teach those who are His, reflects a decision to release the debt you feel owed and to want their good before God. That decision matters, even when the ache and frustration still rise up. The deeper quieting of resentment and the growing of compassion often takes longer, especially when you continue to see the injustice. It helps to notice the gap between how you long for things to be made right and how they are now, and to keep handing that gap to the Lord each time it surfaces.

One simple way we have found helpful is to keep your intercession brief and steady, a short daily entrustment of these people and this situation to God, rather than carrying it all day in thought.

Father, we bring these lawyers and this team before You in Jesus' name. Work in their hearts to love truth and to turn from what is evil in Your sight. Guard and give peace to those who belong to You, and guard the heart of the one praying, that bitterness would not take root but peace would grow. Let Your will be done. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer is one that the Spirit of God Himself must have wrought in your heart, for to desire truth and righteousness in others, and to carry them before the throne of grace rather than to cherish bitterness against them, is itself an evidence of grace.

I join my supplications with yours for these souls of whom you speak, that the Lord in His infinite mercy would give them that repentance which is not a poor and short lived sorrow that turns for a time and then returns to sin with greater gusto, but a true and lasting work of the Holy Ghost. True repentance gives glory to God. It confesses that His eye has seen all, that His Law is holy and just and good, and that the fault lies not with the Law but with our own carnal hearts sold under sin. It is the sacrifice which God will not despise, a broken and a contrite heart, bruised and broken before Him, as you have well quoted from Psalm 51.

You have rightly observed that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a man righteous. The heart must be changed. Repentance, as we have often said, is to leave the sins we loved before and to show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. It is inseparable from faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. We cannot therefore pray that God would merely make these persons more moral or more careful in their dealings. We must pray that He would bring them to look to Jesus, who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin, and who alone can give remission.

And what encouragement we have to pray thus. The goodness of God is meant to lead men to repentance. He spares, He forbears, He sends light and truth and many tokens of His kindness, not that men should presume upon His patience, but that they should turn unto Him. Where there is honest sorrow for sin, where there is a complete change of mind with regard to sin and a determination by His grace to cease from it, that repentance is His gift, and where it is found there is also full and free forgiveness, pardon for crimes of deepest dye, pardon bought with Jesus blood. For Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it, and shed His precious blood not for the righteous but for sinners.

Let us then ask the Lord to stir these hearts indeed, to give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, such as only He can satisfy. May He teach them to hate the sin they once loved, to speak truthfully, to regard human life as made in His image, and to act with compassion and uprightness not from constraint but from a new nature. And may He cover with His precious blood all who are His chosen, giving them peace and understanding in the midst of trial.

Continue steadfast in prayer. Look to Jesus yourself, for He is the Sun of Righteousness and the fountain from which both repentance and remission flow. He who intercedes for us by His Spirit will surely hear the cry that His own will be done, and His will is that none should perish but that all should come to repentance through faith in His Son alone.

May the Lord hear your cry and answer it for His glory and for the good of those very souls for whom you plead.

Amen.

We join you in bringing this request before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, and we thank God for the burden He has placed on your heart for truth and righteousness.

Your prayer is right to ask for an unquenchable thirst. As Christ Himself cried on the great day of the feast, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink. He does not draw us by constraint, but calls those who are inflamed with desire to come and drink deeply. Like a thirsty man who eagerly drains the bowl, so we are to kindle within ourselves a longing for what God says, and to retain it carefully. Jesus promised, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. That hunger is not casual, but earnest, pursuing righteousness with all desire, even as others pursue gain.

We join you in praying for the team at that place and for their lawyers and representatives, that God in His mercy would save them through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which we are saved, and only His precious blood can cover sin and bring peace and understanding. We pray as you have prayed, that God would teach them what true righteousness is, not a mere outward form or legal knowledge, but righteousness and holiness of truth, a new life made to be a son of God.

We agree that education or position does not make a person righteous, for all have fallen short of the glory of God. We do not boast before Him, and we do not look down on others, knowing we also need His mercy. What God desires is not outward sacrifice, but as you quoted from Psalm 51, a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. So we pray that God would work in their hearts to convict them, to give them sight to recognize sin, to hate it and turn from it, not to continue living in it.

True repentance is more than tears or words of regret. It is a turning from sin to walk in a new way. We pray that God would grant them that true repentance, and that He would clothe them with the breastplate of righteousness, a life of universal virtue that guards the heart and cannot be easily pierced by temptation or the schemes of the enemy. We pray that He would stir them to love honest communication, to regard human life with compassion, and to hunger and thirst for what is right in His eyes.

We thank God that His Holy Spirit intercedes for us and for them, and we trust that His will is perfect and good. We will continue to pray with you that God would plant in them and in all of us an enduring thirst for truth and for the righteousness that comes through faith in Christ, and that He would satisfy that thirst as we come to Him and drink.

May the Lord grant peace to you as you wait on Him, and may He answer according to His wisdom and mercy. Let His will be done, in Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer reflects a heart that is aligned with what God desires, a longing to see others know truth and walk in righteousness. That hunger itself is a work of God. Jesus said blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. That promise shows that the thirst you are praying for is not natural to us, it is planted by God and only God can satisfy it.

It is right to pray as you have, with compassion and without looking down on others. Scripture reminds us that God does not look as man looks. Man looks on the outward appearance, on education or status or accomplishment, but God looks on the heart. A person may be highly trained in the law and still be far from righteousness, because true righteousness does not come from knowledge or from keeping a code. Many have zeal without knowledge, trying to establish their own righteousness by works, while being ignorant of the righteousness God provides through faith in Jesus Christ. With the heart man believes unto righteousness, and that righteousness is the righteousness of Christ imparted to us when we put our faith in Him.

That is why your reference to Psalm 51 is so fitting. God does not delight in outward performance alone. The sacrifice He will not despise is a broken and contrite heart. To pray that God would work on hearts so that sin is recognized and hated is to pray according to His will. Only when the heart is softened can a person turn from living for the moment and begin to live for what is eternal.

We can also take comfort that God's judgment is according to truth. He knows what is in every heart, and He has not given us the place of judging others. Our calling is to keep our own hearts with diligence, to examine our motives, and to intercede with mercy for those who are still bound in darkness. Every person, no matter how accomplished or how hardened the exterior may seem, has a deep thirst inside that only God can satisfy. People try to fill it with many things, but they thirst again. Jesus still invites, if anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He alone can quench the spiritual thirst for God because He is God.

So continue to pray as you are praying, that those you mentioned would come to know Jesus Christ as Savior, that they would receive the forgiveness that comes only through His shed blood, that they would be given a new heart that loves truth and hates what is evil in God's sight, and that they would learn to act with righteousness and compassion. Pray that the Holy Spirit would bear witness to the truth in them and draw them to worship the Father in spirit and in truth.

Heavenly Father, we bring these people before You in the name of Jesus. You know each heart. We ask that You would grant them a broken and contrite spirit and a true hunger and thirst for righteousness that only You can fill. Forgive sin through the blood of Christ, open eyes to see the truth, and teach them to walk in Your way. Cover those who are Yours with peace and understanding, and let Your lovingkindness and truth preserve them. Let Your will be done, and may Your name be exalted through changed lives. Amen.
