Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you with a burdened and hopeful heart in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we thank you for coming boldly before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God.

We are encouraged by the humility in your prayer, that you do not boast and you do not look down on others, but you recognize that education and position cannot make a person righteous. As it is written, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23, and there is none righteous on our own. True righteousness and true truth come only from Christ, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. You rightly prayed that the truth shall set them free, as Jesus promised You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32.

We share your grief over those who disregard human life and honest communication, including lawyers and legal representatives who may use their knowledge for evil rather than for justice. The Lord sees and He is not mocked, yet His desire is not to condemn but to save and transform. God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4. We also cling to the promise you quoted, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise Psalm 51:17, and we pray with you that God would give them that brokenness over sin. We are reminded that God has promised I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you Ezekiel 36:26, and we ask Him to do that very work in the hearts of the team and the lawyers you mentioned, and in all who are bound by Satan's lies.

We also pray for those who are already chosen and who know Christ, that the precious blood of Jesus would cover them and keep them in perfect peace, and that they would grow in wisdom and compassion and continue to hunger and thirst for what is right. Jesus said Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6, and we ask the Lord to deepen that hunger in all of us.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up the team and their lawyers and legal representatives to You. Lord, You know the lies that have bound them and the sins that have grieved Your heart. We ask that You would shine Your light into darkness and expose every lie, and that by Your Holy Spirit You would bring conviction that leads to repentance. Give them a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and turns from evil. Create in them clean hearts and renew a right spirit within them. Stir in them an unquenchable thirst for truth and for righteousness, that they would love what You love and hate what You hate. We plead the blood of Jesus over our brothers and sisters in Christ who are involved, cover them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds, and teach them to walk in righteousness and compassion even when surrounded by deceit. Help us all not to trust in human wisdom or education, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds Romans 12:2, so that we may discern what is good and acceptable and perfect in Your sight. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and let Your Holy Spirit continue to intercede for us all. We thank You that You hear us when we pray according to Your will, and we exalt the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our salvation. Amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying as you have been praying for this team and their lawyers. It is painful to watch people who know the law use it without honesty or regard for life, and to feel like truth is being disregarded. Your longing for God to give them a real thirst for what is right is a good and loving prayer, even for those who have caused hurt.

We were struck by what you said about education not making someone righteous. That is true. Real change does not come from knowledge or pressure alone, but from a heart that is softened to see wrong clearly and to want to turn from it. Only God can do that deep work, and your prayer that He would stir their hearts toward honesty and compassion is exactly where that begins.

It can be wearying to carry this kind of intercession over time. One small practice that helps many is to bring these same names before the Lord at a set time each day, pray briefly for that broken and willing heart you described, and then consciously place the outcome in His hands again so the burden does not stay on you all day.

Father, we bring this team and their counsel before You and ask You to work in their hearts, to give them a true love for truth and a desire to do what is right. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and keep them close to You. Guard our friend who is praying from weariness and discouragement, and let Your will be done. In Jesus name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and it is a right and good thing to bring before the throne of grace. To ask that God would give to any man an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is to ask for that which He delights to give, for our Lord Himself has said, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.

You do well to pray not for a mere outward reformation but for a work within the heart. There is a repentance which is not better than the vomit of a dog, a superficial sorrow which comes of the flesh and is flesh. God abhors it and He is not mocked by it. The true repentance which the Spirit of God works is of another sort. It hates sin as sin and turns from it with purpose of heart. It loathes the sweetness of sin when it has found the deadly poison that lies within it. Wherever there is real sorrow for sin, wherever there is an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, wherever there is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, that repentance has been produced by the Spirit of God and it is as much a gift of His grace as pardon itself.

You have rightly quoted the Psalmist, for the Lord does not delight in sacrifice else we would give it, but the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. Very closely allied to great sorrow is one of the greatest spiritual blessings, namely a spiritually broken heart, broken on account of sin. Such brokenness the Lord Himself binds up, for He has chosen One whose own heart was broken that He might heal the broken hearted. He knows your temptations as well as your sorrows, and the temptations which are peculiar to your sorrow and which very often cause great sin. Best of all, He knows the hearts of those for whom you pray.

To hunger and thirst after righteousness is to have fellowship with Christ in His own heart's desire. He would live for righteousness and die for righteousness, and on the cross He said I thirst, and that thirst of His lips was but the index of the deeper thirst of His soul that righteousness might reign by His death. When a man is made to hunger and thirst in this way, the old hungers for gold, for pride, for lust, are expelled by the new affection. Trifles become trifles and the essential truth of God becomes his only care. This is the thirst you seek for these souls, that they might no longer disregard human life and honest communication, but might love that which God loves and hate that which slew Christ.

And this can only come through the Lord Jesus Christ. We think the cure for sin is to give something out from ourselves and to do some good thing, but in truth the cure for sin is to take. Take your dear Lord's wounds and trust them. Take His griefs and rest in them. Take His death and believe in it. Take Himself and love Him. By His stripes we are healed. Righteousness shall be imputed to him who believes, even the righteousness of the Lord Jesus, who is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes. If any man's heart is turned away from sin to hate sin because it slew Christ and because God is so good that we ought not to sin against Him, that is the sure and infallible token of pardon, for repentance and remission of sins go together in Christ's own words.

Let us then continue to pray that the Lord Jesus, who lives to give repentance and remission of sins and lives to pray for sinners, would work upon these hearts. That He would show them the exceeding sinfulness of sin as it is displayed in the griefs unutterable which Jesus bore, when His own soul was made a tempest of grief and His own heart was broken for our sins. When sin is seen there, in the cross, it is condemned in the heart and slain in its power. The heart is then kept for God, chaste for the soul's true Husband, the Lord Jesus.

We will join you in this. We ask the Father in Jesus' name that He would grant to those who are yet bound by Satan's lies a godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of, a full and free forgiveness through the precious blood, and a new life that avoids present sin because of the love of God who died for us. May He cover with that blood all who are His, and give them peace and understanding, and teach them to be righteous and compassionate, not by their own learning or by the law which can only convict, but by the grace which makes a new creature. May His will be done, and may His name be exalted on high in Christ Jesus, through whom alone is salvation.

We join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord Jesus Christ, asking that He would create in many hearts an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. Scripture teaches that blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, and Christ Himself stood and cried, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink. He does not draw by necessity and constraint, but calls those who are inflamed with desire to come and drink deeply. Those who come in this way, like thirsty men who eagerly drain a bowl of water, will retain what they receive and seek more.

We pray as you have prayed, that the team you have mentioned and their lawyers and representatives would be saved through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other way of salvation. We ask that God would work in their hearts and grant them what He will not despise, a broken and contrite spirit, rather than outward sacrifice. May they be brought to recognize their sin, to hate it, and to turn from it in true repentance. True repentance is not words alone or tears alone, but a turning of the whole life to walk in righteousness and holiness of truth, which God creates anew in those who are born again in Christ.

We agree with you that it grieves the heart when human life is disregarded and honest communication is forsaken, and when those who are educated in the law use their knowledge for what is evil in the eyes of the Lord. We pray that the Lord would expose the lies that bind them, stir their hearts, and give them a desire for truth that they would pursue righteousness with all earnestness. As you quoted, God desires truth in the inward being, and He calls us to transfer our strongest desires from gaining more for ourselves to hungering for what is right. When righteousness is put on like a breastplate, it guards the life of universal virtue, and its fruit abides forever.

We also pray for those among them who are in Christ, that the precious blood of Jesus would cover them and keep them, and that God would give them peace and understanding and strength to live with compassion and integrity.

We thank God that His Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and we ask that the will of our Heavenly Father be done, that many would come to know the truth that sets free, which is Christ Himself, and would have rivers of living water flow from within as they believe on Him. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness reflects a desire that God Himself calls blessed. Jesus said that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled, and that promise is a turning point. It shows that the deepest longing in the human heart is not satisfied by knowledge, position, or skill, but by being made right before God.

That thirst you are praying for is ultimately a thirst for God. Every person carries inside a deep need for a real relationship with Him, though many try to fill it with other things that never satisfy. Scripture pictures it like a deer longing for water, and Jesus invites anyone who is thirsty to come to Him and drink. Only He can satisfy the spirit, because He is God. When you pray for these lawyers and others to thirst for truth and righteousness, you are praying for them to recognize that need and to come to Christ.

You are right to note that education and training in the law do not make a person righteous. Many have zeal and great learning, yet miss the righteousness that God provides. The Bible teaches that we cannot establish our own righteousness by keeping the law or by good works. We can never be good enough on our own. True righteousness is given by God and received through faith in Jesus Christ. When we put our trust in Him, God counts that faith as righteousness and clothes us with the righteousness of Christ. That is why the prayer for a broken and contrite heart from Psalm 51 is so fitting. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone. What He desires and will not despise is a broken spirit, a heart that sees its sin honestly, hates it, and turns from it.

It is also right to pray with compassion rather than with a spirit of looking down on others. God sees the heart while we only see the outward appearance, and His judgment is always according to truth because He knows what is in every heart. He has reserved judgment to Himself and calls us to keep our own hearts with diligence, examining our motives, and to pray for others with mercy. Your prayer does that well. You are not asking God to overlook sin, but asking Him to forgive, to stir hearts, to teach compassion and honesty, and to lead them to hate sin and walk away from it. That is a prayer for genuine repentance and new life.

We can continue to bring them before the Lord, asking that the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us would work in their hearts, open their eyes to the truth that sets free, and give them understanding and peace that comes from being made right with God through Jesus. God is able to prompt hearts and to bring that inner conviction that leads to salvation. He can create in them a real hunger for what is right and true, and He has promised to fill those who truly seek it.

May the Lord encourage you as you keep praying. He hears the prayers offered in Jesus name according to His will, and He is faithful to draw those who seek Him with a sincere heart into the righteousness that comes by faith.
