Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we thank you for coming before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved.

Your heart to intercede even for those who may be acting unjustly reflects the love Christ calls us to, to pray for those who oppose us and to desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. We agree with you that education, position, or knowledge of the law does not make a person righteous, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 and only God can give a new heart and a right spirit.

You rightly quoted that the truth shall set you free, as Jesus said, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. Jesus Himself is the truth, for He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. Apart from Him, even the most learned are blinded, for the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them 2 Cor 4:4. And we are reminded that lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight Prov 12:22, and that blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matt 5:6.

We also echo your prayer from Psalm 51, for You don't delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise Psalm 51:16-17. What God desires is not outward religion but inward repentance, a heart that hates sin and turns from it.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up the team at the organization mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives before Your throne of grace. Lord, You see all things and You desire truth in the innermost being. We ask that You pierce through every lie of the enemy that has bound them, and let Your light shine into darkness. Give them, Father, an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that only Your Holy Spirit can give. Create in them a clean heart and renew a right spirit within them, that they would have broken and contrite hearts before You, recognize their sin, grieve over it, and turn from all that is evil in Your eyes.

Lord, we plead the precious blood of Jesus over those who are Yours, over the chosen and those who already belong to Christ among them, that You would cover them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and grant them wisdom and compassion to act righteously in all their dealings. Teach them to love mercy, to do justly, and to walk humbly with You Micah 6:8. Forgive their sins as only You can, and stir them to regard human life with dignity and to speak with honest communication, for You are a God who loves justice and hates deceit.

Father, we humble ourselves with our brother and sister who prayed, acknowledging that we too fall short of Your glory and we do not boast before You. We ask that Your will be done in this situation, that justice would roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream Amos 5:24, and that Your Holy Spirit would continue to intercede and convict hearts. We thank You, Holy Father, that You hear us when we pray according to Your will, and we exalt the name of Jesus Christ on high, trusting that You who began a good work will be faithful to complete it.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in this intercession, for the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective James 5:16. Keep praying that God would grant them repentance and the knowledge of the truth, for God our Savior desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Tim 2:4. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up Gal 6:9. We stand with you, trusting the Lord to work on every heart involved for His glory and for righteousness to prevail. Amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying in this prayer, and your longing for truth and righteousness to take root is clear. Thank you for bringing this before the Lord with such humility, not wanting to boast or look down on others, but simply asking Him to work in hearts, including your own.

It makes sense that you feel grieved when you see dishonesty and disregard for human life, especially from those you expected to act with integrity. Wanting to see people changed while still feeling that ache is not a contradiction. At times we can make a settled decision to release the need for revenge and to want good for others, even while the hurt, anger and disappointment take longer to quiet. Both can be true, and the emotional side often softens gradually as we keep turning the matter over to God rather than carrying it alone.

It helps to keep your prayer itself simple and sustainable. You might set aside a brief time each day to bring these same people before the Lord by name, asking for softened hearts and a love for what is right, and then leave them in His hands until the next time you pray. It is a way to stay faithful without letting the burden consume you.

Father, we bring this team and their representatives before You and ask for Your mercy on them. Work in each heart to bring conviction, honesty and compassion, and cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding. Give our friend here rest as he trusts You to intercede and to do what is right, and deepen his own thirst for truth and righteousness day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join you in it before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to work that which only He can work in the hearts of men.

Your appeal from Psalm 51 is the right ground to stand upon, for the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is the repentance that the Holy Spirit must work, not a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of sinful nature, which may turn from sin for a time and then return to it with greater appetite, but a holy, healthy, heavenly repentance that hates sin as sin, loathes it and leaves it with purpose of heart.

True repentance gives God glory. It does not boast before Him, nor does it look down upon others as though we ourselves had not fallen short of His glory, but it confesses that we have all sinned and it looks to Jesus. Any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of, for faith and repentance are inseparable. The demand for a change of heart is reasonable and necessary, yet we cannot draw it up from the depths of our own heart as water from a well. It is the gift of God, produced by the Spirit of God through belief of the truth as it is in Christ.

Therefore we pray with you that the Lord would grant to these men and women, lawyers and all who are involved, not a superficial or short lived sorrow that fears only judgment, but a practical repentance that yields works meet for repentance and that lasts. May they see the precious blood of Christ set forth as a propitiation for sin, and may they look to Jesus and live. For He was pierced for men and He lives to make intercession for transgressors, to give to sinners the Holy Spirit to work in them true belief and true repentance. If they will but loathe their sin and turn to Him, there is immediate pardon for the sake of the great atoning Sacrifice, and for all who truly trust Him there is no condemnation.

We will continue to pray that the Lord will stir their hearts, that He will give them indeed an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, that they will love truth, speak truth, and do justice with compassion, and that they will come to know that truth which sets free, even Jesus Christ Himself, who is the Truth. May the Lord strengthen every heart that hopes in Him and preserve the faithful, and may His will be done.

We thank God that His Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and we ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your prayer and we join you in it, for it is good and pleasing to God that you ask for what He Himself promises to give.

You have asked rightly for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. As the Lord said, if any man thirst let him come to me and drink, and blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. Those who come to the divine preaching must show the desire of thirsty men for water and kindle that longing in themselves. Christ does not draw us by necessity and constraint, but He calls those who are inflamed with desire. So your prayer that God would stir their hearts to thirst is according to His own invitation. The water He gives is living water, a well springing up within to everlasting life, so that the one who drinks shall never thirst again with the thirst of this world. Pray that they may come and drink.

You have also prayed well that God would work in them a broken and contrite heart. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. That heart is not proud and does not rise up to strike back, but is quiet under reproof and ready to turn from sin. Such a heart is not from ourselves but is God's gift, with sobriety and repentance and compunction, and we must ask Him for it. Continue to ask Him to grant them this gift, that they may recognize their sins, hate their sins, and turn from living in them.

You rightly see that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a person righteous. There was of old a righteousness that was only a figure, an outward cleanness, but the true righteousness is in holiness of truth, when a person is made new and created to be a child of God. Righteousness is also like a breastplate. When it is a life of real virtue fixed in the heart, it cannot be pierced, and the person becomes firm and not easily moved to anger or deceit. Pray that God would clothe them with that breastplate, that they would love honest communication and regard for human life, which comes from a true life with Christ.

You do well not to boast and not to look down on them, but to pray with compassion. Keep praying with humility, giving thanks for all things and remembering that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that His blood covers those who trust in Him. Ask that those who are His would be kept in peace and understanding, and that those who are still bound in lies would hear the word that is near, confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead, and so be saved.

Let us pray together that the Lord will grant to these lawyers and to all who hear this prayer a deep thirst for His living water, a contrite heart that hates evil, and a life clothed in true righteousness, and that His will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for a thirst for truth and righteousness is right and pleasing to God, and it reflects a heart that grieves over sin and longs to see people changed by His grace.

You quoted Psalm 51 well. God does not delight in outward performance or sacrifice for its own sake. What He desires and will not despise is a broken and contrite heart. That is the work only He can do. When He opens eyes to see sin as He sees it, there comes a holy hatred for sin and a turning from it. It is right to ask Him to work in that deep inward way in the hearts of those you mentioned, including those with great education and training in the law, so that they would honestly see themselves in the mirror of His Word and not turn away and forget what they saw.

Scripture teaches that every person carries a spiritual thirst that cannot be satisfied by physical or emotional things. Jesus said, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. David expressed the same when he said his soul thirsted for God, for the living God. This thirst is universal. People try to fill it in many other ways, but only Christ can quench it because He is God come to us. And Jesus also said, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. That promise is the turning point. The hunger itself is a gift from God, and He delights to fill those who truly seek His righteousness.

That righteousness is not something any of us can establish for ourselves, no matter how educated or zealous we may be. Many have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge, being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own. The Bible makes clear that Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness, and that was before any outward sign. To the one who does not trust in his own works but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. This is the righteousness of Christ imparted through faith in Him. God set forth Jesus to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, so that mercy and truth could meet together and righteousness and peace could kiss. Justice demanded the penalty for sin, and mercy desired forgiveness. At the cross both are satisfied because Jesus, who knew no sin, was made to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. He took the curse that we deserved when He hung upon the tree, and now He offers that righteousness as a gift.

For that reason we can pray with confidence and with compassion, not looking down on others as if we were better, for we all fall short of His glory. We do not blame God for the evil, the dishonesty, or the disregard for life that grieves us. Those things come from sin in this fallen world, which itself groans and longs for redemption. Our hope is in His grace that brings salvation, which has appeared to all and is offered now. Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. The Holy Spirit is indeed interceding, and the blood of Jesus is sufficient to cover, cleanse, and give peace and understanding to all who turn to Him in humble faith.

Continue to bring these people before the Father in the name of Jesus. Ask that He would grant them that unquenchable thirst for Him, that He would give them a new heart that loves truth and walks in righteousness, and that they would worship Him in spirit and in truth. And ask that those who already belong to Christ would be kept under His covering, taught to walk in His Word of truth and in the power of God, clothed with the armor of righteousness, and that their lives would create in others a thirst for Christ.
