Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we stand in agreement with you before the throne of grace in Jesus' name.

We are moved by the humility and burden in your prayer. You are not boasting, you are not looking down on others, but you are grieving over sin and dishonesty and longing to see God work in hearts that are bound by lies. That is the heart God desires. As you quoted, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:32. And Jesus Himself said, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6. Your prayer for that holy hunger is exactly according to the will of God.

You rightly discern that education and position do not make a person righteous. The lawyers and legal representatives you mention, like all of us, need the same grace. For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23. There is none righteous by his own learning or works, but only through the blood of Jesus Christ. It is good that you ask for His precious blood to cover those who are chosen and for peace and understanding for them, and at the same time you pray for the salvation and transformation of those who oppose the truth. This reflects the command of our Lord to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44.

We also affirm the scripture you lifted from Psalm 51:16-17, For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is the work only God can do, to break the hardness of heart and give a new heart that hates sin and loves what is good. We cannot convict hearts ourselves, but the Holy Spirit can, who also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. Romans 8:26.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who is the way, the truth, and the life. We thank You for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us continually. Lord, we lift up the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives before You. We ask that You would save those who do not yet know You, that You would open their eyes that have been blinded by the god of this world. 2 Corinthians 4:4. Remove the veil of Satan's lies and let the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ shine upon them. Work on their hearts, Father, grant them a broken and contrite spirit, that they may recognize their sin, confess it, and turn from it with godly sorrow. Give them, as our brother and sister has prayed, an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, that they would no longer disregard human life and honest communication, but would love mercy, do justly, and walk humbly with You. Micah 6:8.

For those who are Yours, who are chosen in Christ, we ask You to cover them with the blood of Jesus, to guard them with Your perfect peace which surpasses all understanding. Philippians 4:7. Teach them to be righteous and compassionate as You are, and to rest in the knowledge that You are a God of justice who sees all things. Let Your will be done in this situation as it is in heaven. We trust not in the wisdom of man or in the law of man, but in Your righteous judgment and Your unfailing mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.

We hear how heavy this has been on you in prayer. It is painful to watch people who know the law use it in ways that feel dishonest and disregarding of life, and we understand why your heart grieves and why you are asking God so persistently for truth and righteousness to break through.

What you described, a broken and humble heart that turns from sin, is exactly what only God can work in a person from the inside. Feeling sorry for a moment does not change a direction, but when God stirs the heart, a person begins to see clearly, to want what is right, and to walk differently. That is why your prayer for an unquenchable thirst matters. You are asking for the deeper work, not just better behavior.

We want to keep praying alongside you, both for those lawyers and the team at ### that God would open eyes and soften hearts, and for you and other believers to be kept in peace and clarity as you wait on Him. When the grief feels heavy, it can help to turn it into brief, honest prayers through the day and to ask God to keep your own heart tender and free from bitterness, even as you stand for what is true.

Father in Jesus name, we lift this team and their representatives to You. Work in their hearts, give them a love for truth and for doing what is right, and bring conviction where it is needed. Cover Your people with Your peace and wisdom, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your earnest prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is itself a sign of grace at work, for none hunger and thirst after righteousness until the Spirit of God has first quickened the soul. Blessed are they which do so, for our Lord has promised they shall be filled.

It is well that you have taken the team at that place, with their lawyers and legal representatives, before the throne of grace. You have prayed wisely, not that God would merely prosper them in their course, but that He would save them, for there is no salvation but through Jesus Christ alone, and no freedom but by the truth as it is in Him. As it is written, the truth shall make you free, and that truth is not a notion or a system, but the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom alone sinners are saved from false confidences and from despair.

You do well to remember that education cannot make a man righteous, nor can knowledge of the law cleanse the heart. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, whether learned or unlearned, and the most instructed mind may yet engage itself in horrible sins when the heart is unrenewed. Therefore your prayer strikes at the true need, that God would work upon their hearts.

May the Lord grant them that repentance which gives Him glory. Beware, as we have often said, of that superficial repentance which is not better than the flesh, for that which is born of the flesh is flesh. True repentance hates sin as sin, because it has found a deadly poison in its sweetness, and therefore loathes it and leaves it with purpose of heart. It is not a passing regret, but a broken and a contrite heart, which, as you have quoted from the fifty first Psalm, O God, Thou wilt not despise. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. He delights not in outward form, but in a heart humbled before Him.

Remember also that Jesus Christ lives to give repentance and remission of sins. He lives to make intercession for the transgressors, and to give to sinners the Holy Spirit to work in them true belief and true repentance. He is mighty to save, to do for them what they cannot do for themselves. It is His blood alone which can cover the chosen and give peace and understanding, and it is His finished work upon the cross which makes forgiveness possible. Let us therefore pray that they may come to a true knowledge of their sinnership, for where there is truth in the confession of sin, there is truth in Christ's salvation to meet it, and where there is a real atonement trusted in, the soul knows the truth of God's salvation indeed.

We join you in asking that the Lord would stir their hearts according to His holy will, that they would be taught to be righteous and compassionate, to regard human life as sacred before God and to love honest communication, hating every false way. May He grant them to loathe evil and to thirst no more for the deceits of Satan, but to thirst for that righteousness which is found only in Christ, and for that truth which sanctifies and saves. And for those who are already in Christ, may the precious blood be their covering, and may the Holy Spirit, who ever intercedes for us, keep them in peace and make them faithful witnesses to the truth.

Continue relentless in prayer, for the Lord preserves the faithful and He shall strengthen your heart as you hope in Him. Trust, and the work is done, and you shall know the truth of His salvation more and more. May the Lord hear your cry and cause His will to be done, to the praise of His grace and the glory of His name. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and it is good that you bring this burden before the Lord with such persistence. To ask God for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is to ask for what He Himself promises to fill.

Jesus stood and cried, if anyone thirsts let him come to me and drink. He does not drag us by force, but He calls those who are inflamed with desire, those who come as thirsty people come to water and eagerly receive what is given. That is the thirst you are praying for, and Christ says blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. This is not a thirst that is satisfied once and then fades, but like living water it becomes a well within a person springing up into everlasting life, so that he will never thirst in the same way again. Continue to pray that God would kindle this longing in you and in those for whom you intercede.

You prayed rightly from Psalm 51 that God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but in a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. That contrition is not mere sorrow, but a heart that is humbled, quiet, ready to be corrected, not rising up in pride or seeking vengeance, but acknowledging sin and hating it enough to turn from it. It is a gift God gives when we ask, along with a sober and watchful heart that can stand in the conflict against evil. Pray that God would grant such a heart to those lawyers and representatives you mentioned, and to all of us, for we all fall short of His glory and cannot boast before Him.

Scripture teaches that true righteousness is not the outward figure of keeping rules, but righteousness and holiness of truth, created anew in Christ. The righteousness that saves is the righteousness of faith, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. So when you pray for their salvation and for covering by the precious blood of Christ, you pray according to His will, for He desires all to come to repentance and to know the truth that sets free.

We join you in praying that the Lord would work on every heart involved, that He would grant repentance, forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ alone, and a love for honest speech and regard for human life. We pray that He would clothe those who believe with the breastplate of righteousness, which is a life of virtue that no enemy can pierce, and that He would give peace and understanding to those who are His. We also pray that He would keep you from discouragement, and teach you to be both righteous and compassionate, giving thanks in all things and showing mercy as you have received mercy.

Let us continue to ask the Father in Jesus name to do His will, to stir hearts, to grant contrition, and to pour out that living water upon all who thirst. May He answer according to His wisdom and love, and may we all be found faithful in prayer, humility, and hope. Amen.

Your prayer reflects a right burden and a right understanding of what these people most need. To ask God to give an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is to ask for the very thing Jesus promised to fill.

Scripture says blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. That hunger does not begin with trying harder to be good. It begins when a person sees God as He truly is, and in that light sees himself as he truly is. When the heart is broken over its own sin, that is when the thirst for His righteousness begins. This is the watershed moment you are praying for.

You quoted Psalm 51 well. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone. What He will not despise is a broken spirit and a contrite heart. There is a sorrow that is of the world that only brings death, and there is a godly sorrow that works repentance leading to salvation. True repentance is not just feeling sorry, it is a change of mind and direction, turning from sin to hate it and to walk away from it. Peter wept bitterly after he denied the Lord and he never went back to that denial again. That is the work only God can do in a heart, and it is right to ask Him to do it for these lawyers and representatives.

You are also right to note that education and knowledge of the law do not make a person righteous. Many have a zeal but not according to knowledge, being ignorant of God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own. Some believe their good works must outweigh their bad, but God has established righteousness in another way entirely. Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness, and that was before any outward sign. In the same way, our faith in Jesus who was delivered for our offenses and raised for our justification is counted to us as righteousness. We have no righteousness of our own that can stand before a holy God. His righteousness endures forever, and it becomes ours only through faith in Jesus Christ, for there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus who said I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through me. The truth that sets free is not an idea, it is a person.

It is also right that you do not boast or look down on them. All have fallen short of the glory of God, and we must watch against trusting in our own integrity. At the same time, God is full of grace and compassion, and He is also holy and just and a God of truth. In His love He has provided everything needed for salvation and for walking with Him, but if His provision in Christ is rejected, His judgment is certain, for righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

So we can pray with confidence that the Holy Spirit, who guides into all truth and does not speak of Himself but glorifies Christ, would work in them. Jesus prayed that His own would be sanctified through the truth, for the word of God is truth. Pray that the Spirit would open their eyes to see the Lord, to see their sin, to be broken over it, and to thirst for the righteousness that only Christ can give.

Father, in the name of Jesus we bring these people before you. You know the actions that have grieved this heart and disregarded life and honest communication. We ask for your mercy upon them. Grant them a broken and contrite heart, a godly sorrow that leads to true repentance and a turning from what is evil in your sight. Give them a real hunger and thirst for truth and for your righteousness, and fill them as you have promised. Reveal Christ to them as the only way of salvation, and let them believe on Him so that His righteousness may be imputed to them. Cover your own people with your peace and understanding as you continue to intercede for all. Let your will be done, and let your name be exalted. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

We have continued to bring before the Lord the team you mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives, that God would set them free from the lies that bind them and stir their hearts to hunger and thirst for what is true and righteous as promised in Matt 5:6. We have also continued to pray the precious blood of Jesus over those who are His and for peace and understanding for them, and that the Lord would work on every heart involved to bring a broken and contrite spirit which He will not despise according to Psalm 51:17, so that sin would be recognized and hated and not continued in. We are still agreeing with you that the truth shall set them free according to John 8:32 and that the Holy Spirit would intercede and teach all involved to act with righteousness and compassion and not disregard human life and honest communication.

We are glad to stand with you relentlessly in this burden. If your request was answered and you have seen God move in their hearts or bring conviction and a love for truth, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray in Jesus name that the Lord will continue to convict, to forgive, to cleanse and to lead all those involved into His truth and righteousness and that He will cover His people with peace. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
