Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we thank you for coming boldly before the Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and there is no other name by which we can be saved, and we rejoice that you have prayed in His worthy name as it is written in John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.

We agree with your heart that the truth shall make you free as Jesus said in John 8:32, and that blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled in Matthew 5:6. Your burden for the team you mentioned and for their lawyers and legal representatives is a Christlike burden, for we are commanded to pray for all people and even to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us in Matthew 5:44. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood alone but against spiritual forces, and we understand your discernment that those who are bound by lies need the saving grace of Christ to be set free from the power of Satan who is the father of lies in John 8:44.

We also affirm your humility in acknowledging that education and knowledge of the law does not make a person righteous, for it is written that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God in Romans 3:23, and that God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise in 1 Corinthians 1:27. True righteousness and compassion do not come from studying law, but from a new heart given by God. We are reminded of your citation of Psalm 51:17 that the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise, and of the promise in Ezekiel 36:26 that God will give a new heart and put a new spirit within us and remove the heart of stone.

We share your grief over the disregard for human life and honest communication, for the Lord loves justice and hates dishonesty. He has shown us what is good, to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God in Micah 6:8, and to learn to do well, seek justice, relieve the oppressed in Isaiah 1:17. When those entrusted with the law pervert justice, it grieves the heart of God, and it should grieve ours, yet we must not boast or look down on them, but pray that they would come to repentance, for God desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth in 1 Timothy 2:4.

We lift this prayer together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we thank You that Your Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings that cannot be uttered in Romans 8:26. We ask that You pour out Your convicting and saving power upon that team and upon every lawyer and legal representative connected to them. Work on their hearts, Lord, break their stony hearts and give them hearts of flesh that recognize sin, hate sin, and turn from it in true repentance. Let Your precious blood cover and protect those who are Yours, Your chosen and Your children, and grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:7 and Your wisdom and understanding. Teach all involved to hunger and thirst for truth and righteousness and not to be satisfied with lies or corruption, and teach us all to be righteous and compassionate as You are compassionate. Forgive sins where there is confession, and restrain evil where there is intent to do what is evil in Your eyes. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven and let Your name be exalted on high. We pray that You will stir this thirst unceasingly and that You will answer according to Your perfect holiness, mercy and justice.

We encourage you to continue steadfastly in prayer without ceasing in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and to not grow weary, for Jesus taught that we ought always to pray and not to faint in Luke 18:1. The Lord hears the relentless prayers of the righteous, and He is faithful to bring truth to light and to establish righteousness. We stand with you trusting that He who began a good work will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ in Philippians 1:6, and we thank Him for His holiness and for the Holy Spirit who is ever interceding for us and for them, in Jesus name, amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying as you pray for this team and their lawyers. It is painful to watch people who know the law use it in ways that feel dishonest and disregarding of human life, and we are thankful you are bringing them before the Lord rather than holding onto bitterness. You named it honestly, you do not want to boast or look down on them, you simply want God to do a deep work in their hearts.

What you are asking for, an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, is at its heart a work only God can do. Feeling sorry for a moment is not the same as a real change of mind that leads to a different way of living. That kind of honest, broken heart that begins to hate what is evil and love what is right comes as God softens and teaches us, and it is right to keep asking Him for it for others as well as for ourselves.

One small way to stay steady in this relentless prayer is to keep it focused and sustainable. Choose a brief time each day to lift one or two names specifically to Jesus, asking that they would come to love truth and act with compassion, and then entrust the outcome to Him as you continue to walk truthfully in the places He has put you.

Father, we bring this team and their representatives before You in Jesus' name. Work gently in their hearts to show them what is true, give them a love for righteousness and compassion, and cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding. Do Your will, and keep our friend close to You as he waits on You. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a right and needful prayer, and we join with you in it before the throne of grace. It is well that you have asked not for outward reformation only, but for that inward work upon the heart which God alone can work.

You have quoted rightly that a broken and a contrite heart God will not despise. The Lord does not delight in mere sacrifice or outward show, but in a heart bruised and broken on account of sin. True repentance is not a short lived sorrow which turns away from sin for a time and then goes back to it with greater gusto, but a real change of mind with regard to sin, wrought by the Spirit of God. It gives glory to the omniscience of God, confessing that He sees all, and it gives glory to the righteousness of His law, acknowledging that the law is holy and just and good, and that the fault lies in ourselves, for we are carnal, sold under sin.

Such repentance is inseparable from faith. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Jesus Christ, and no faith is true but that which is linked with a hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. To leave the sins we loved before, and to show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more, this is the practical fruit. Does it last, does it yield works meet for repentance, does it lead a man to choose righteousness though there were no reward for it, this is the test.

Therefore we pray with you that the Lord would grant to those of whom you speak, and to ourselves also, not a fleeting regret but that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of. May He lead them to hate the sin they once loved, to turn from every evil way, and to look to Jesus who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood. For there is remission only in His name, and where there is true repentance there is full and free forgiveness, a pardon bought with Jesus blood, even for crimes of deepest dye.

We do not boast, for we also fall short of the glory of God, and we know that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. We ask that the goodness of God which spares life and grants space for reflection may lead such souls to repentance, that they may thirst indeed after righteousness, and that thirst may be satisfied in Christ, the Sun of righteousness, in whom there is everlasting strength and mercy.

May the Holy Spirit intercede and work this gracious breaking and bruising of the heart, that sweetness may come forth, and that they and we may worship God in spirit and in truth, sorrowful for pardoned sin at the feet of Jesus. We commend this burden to the Lord, that His will be done, and that Christ may be exalted as Saviour and Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is good and right before God, and we join you in it. Christ himself stood and cried, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink, and he promised that blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. He does not draw by constraint, but calls those who are inflamed with desire, who come as thirsty men come to water, eager to drink and to retain what is given.

You have prayed well in asking not for outward show but for the heart to be changed. God does not delight in sacrifice for its own sake, but the sacrifice acceptable to him is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which he will not despise. Such a heart does not rise up or seek vengeance, but is quiet, ready to be humbled, ready to repent and to be taught. It is God himself who gives this contrite and sober heart, full of repentance and compunction, and we need it greatly, for our wrestling is not only against flesh but against spiritual wickedness.

So we pray with you that the Lord Jesus would save and have mercy. The truth that sets free is not mere knowledge of the law, but the truth that is in Christ. There was a righteousness of figures and outward cleanness, but the true righteousness and holiness is of truth, created anew in Christ, given in baptism and received by faith. The word is near, in the mouth and in the heart, that if we confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in the heart that God raised him from the dead, we shall be saved. There is no other way of salvation, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.

We ask the Father in Jesus name to work on the hearts of the team and their lawyers and representatives of whom you speak. May he convict them where they have sinned and disregarded human life and honest communication, and grant them to hate their sin and turn from it, to receive forgiveness through his precious blood. May he cover those who are his with peace and understanding, and teach all to put on the breastplate of righteousness, which is a life of universal virtue that no enemy can cut through. May he give them, and give us all, that living water which becomes within a well springing up into everlasting life, so that those who drink shall never thirst again.

We thank God that his Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and we ask him to stir in these souls and in our own a steady and holy thirst, not for a moment but without quenching, until we are filled with his righteousness and walk in holiness and compassion before him. Let us continue in relentless prayer, with humility and without boasting, not looking down on others who fall short of the glory of God, for we all fall short, but committing all to his will and his mercy.

May the Lord grant what is according to his will, and make us faithful to hunger for what is right and true, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is deeply biblical and it is right to bring it before the Lord so persistently. God honors that hunger. Jesus said blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. That hunger does not come from willpower or education. It comes when we see ourselves honestly in the light of who God is, and then we see Him as the ideal and long to be like Him. That is the watershed moment where God begins to fill a heart with His own righteousness.

You quoted Psalm 51 well. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone. What He will not despise is a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart. That is what to pray for on behalf of those you mentioned, that God would work on their hearts to bring that brokenness, that they would recognize sin for what it is, hate it, and turn from it. We cannot snow God. He knows the truth of every heart, and yet His mercy is real. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin, and He was manifested to take away our sins and to destroy the works of the devil that lead people into sin.

It is true, as you observed, that education and knowledge of the law do not make a person righteous. Scripture says there is a zeal for God that is not according to knowledge, when people are ignorant of God's righteousness and try to establish their own. True righteousness is not earned. Christ became a curse for us, for cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree, so that through faith in Him we might receive the gift of righteousness. God imputes faith for righteousness and accounts us righteous through Christ. He is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. There is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, who said I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through me. It is that truth that sets free.

God is full of grace and compassion, and He is also holy and just and a God of truth. His wrath is revealed against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of those who suppress the truth. Righteousness and peace kiss each other, truth springs out of the earth and righteousness looks down from heaven. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth to those who keep His covenant. So we can pray with confidence as the psalmist did, teach me Your way, O Lord, I will walk in Your truth, unite my heart to fear Your name. Pray that God would give them an undivided heart, a heart only for Him, and that He would lead them to walk in His truth.

It grieves the heart to see disregard for human life and for honest communication, and it is right to grieve over sin. Guard your own heart from bitterness in this. Death and injustice came by sin, not because God is unkind. By one man sin entered the world and death by sin. God is the redeemer who gave His Son to bear judgment for our sin so that by believing in Him we are declared innocent, justified by faith, and given abundant grace.

So we join you in prayer. Father, in the name of Jesus we ask for Your mercy on each person involved in this situation, including those in legal responsibility. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding. For those who do not yet know You, we ask for salvation. Grant them a broken and contrite heart, open their eyes to see their sin, give them a holy hatred for it, and create in them a true and unquenchable hunger and thirst for Your truth and Your righteousness. Teach them Your way that they may walk in Your truth. Unite their hearts to fear Your name. Draw them to Jesus, who alone is the way and the truth, that they may receive the gift of righteousness by faith and be filled. We trust Your hand to lead and guide, for the steps of the righteous are ordered by You and You delight in that way. As we acknowledge You in all our ways, direct our paths. Let Your will be done. Amen.
