Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

We have heard your prayer and we join with you in asking the Lord to answer it according to His mercy and truth.

Your desire for an unquenchable thirst for righteousness is itself pleasing to God. As our Lord said, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink, and again, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. God does not draw us by force, but He calls those who are inflamed with desire for Him. To come to His word as a thirsty man comes to water, to eagerly receive and retain what He says, this is the hunger He blesses. Pray that this thirst would be kindled and sustained both in you and in those for whom you intercede.

We agree with you in praying for the team and for their lawyers and representatives. It is right to pray that God would save them, that He would uncover the lies that bind them and bring them to the truth that is in Christ alone. There is a righteousness that is only outward, a form of law and learning, and there is a righteousness and holiness of truth that comes from being made new in Christ. The first is a shadow, the second is the reality worked in us when we are born anew. What they need, as we all do, is not only legal knowledge but a new heart.

You prayed well from Psalm 51. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but in a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. This is the beginning of true change. We pray with you that God would work on their hearts to convict them of sin, to make them hate sin and turn from it, to regard human life with reverence and to love honest communication. For righteousness is like a breastplate. When a life is fixed in righteous deeds before God, it stands firm and cannot be easily pierced by the enemy. That is the life we ask God to form in them.

We also pray that their sorrow, if God grants it, would be true repentance. Scripture warns us that Esau sought the blessing with tears yet found no place of repentance, because his grief was not a true turning from sin. Tears alone do not save. Renewal comes through true repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ, whose blood alone covers sin and brings peace and understanding to those who are His. We ask that God would grant them that true repentance, that they would crucify the old life and not continue in what is evil in His sight.

We commend your humility, that you do not boast and do not look down on those who fall short of the glory of God, for all have sinned. Continue in this relentless prayer. Ask that the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us would stir in them and in you a deeper love for truth, for compassion, and for holiness. May the Lord cover His people with the precious blood of Christ, keep them in peace, and teach all of us to walk in righteousness with hunger that does not grow weary until we are filled by Him.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, that the Father's will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness honors God, and He hears that kind of prayer. Jesus said blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. That promise shows that the desire itself is from God and that He is the one who satisfies it.

Scripture teaches that every person carries a deep spiritual thirst. We know physical thirst and emotional thirst for love, meaning and security, but beneath those is a thirst of the spirit for God. David expressed it when he said as the deer pants after the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, O God. Jesus spoke to that same thirst when He stood and cried, if any man thirst, let him come to me and drink. He was not speaking of water for the body, but of the need of the heart for God. We often try to fill that thirst with other things, with ambitions, accomplishments, learning or success, yet Jesus said if you drink of that water you will thirst again. Only He can quench the thirst for God because He is God, and only He can give living water that truly satisfies.

You have prayed rightly for those who are caught in lies and sin, that God would work in their hearts. Education, position or knowledge of the law does not make a person righteous. The Bible says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. There are many who have zeal but not according to knowledge, who try to establish their own righteousness by works and have not submitted to the righteousness which God provides. True righteousness is not earned. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness, and that was before any outward sign. To the one who does not trust in his own works but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. The righteousness of Christ is given to us through faith in Jesus Christ, and that is the only righteousness that will stand before God.

That is why your prayer from Psalm 51 is so fitting. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone. What He desires and will not despise is a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart that recognizes sin, hates it, and turns from it. When a heart is broken in that way, God can teach truth, grant understanding, and create compassion and honest dealing. The truth that sets free is not an idea but a Person. Jesus is the truth, and to know Him is to be set free from the power of lies.

It is right that you do not boast and do not look down on others, but humbly acknowledge that we all need mercy. We should not blame God for the evil, dishonesty and disregard for life that we see in this world. God is good, His mercy endures forever and His truth endures to all generations. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne, and when He reigns He will judge the earth in righteousness and truth. He preserves the souls of His saints and delivers them, and light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart.

Continue to bring these people before the Father in Jesus name, asking that the blood of Christ shed for redemption would be applied to all who will believe, that the Holy Spirit would stir their hearts to see their sin, to thirst for what is right, and to come to Jesus to drink. Pray that God would cover those who are His with peace and understanding, and that your own life would continue to create a thirst in others for Christ. God has planted this thirst and He is faithful to fill all who truly hunger and thirst for Him.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift up your relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness before our Heavenly Father in Jesus Name.

We have been praying with you that the team you mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives who are bound by the lies of the enemy would encounter the truth that sets us free as promised in John 8:32 and that the Lord would draw them to salvation. We have also been praying that those who are chosen and are in Christ would be covered by His precious blood and given peace and understanding and taught to walk in righteousness and compassion. We continue to ask the Lord to work on hearts as you prayed, to grant a broken and contrite heart which God will not despise as written in Psalm 51:17, to bring conviction of sin and a hatred for what is evil in His eyes, and to stir a deep hunger and thirst for righteousness according to Matt 5:6 and for honest communication and regard for human life.

We are trusting that our Heavenly Father hears us and that His Holy Spirit is interceding. If your request was answered and you have seen God move in these hearts or bring peace and a greater thirst for truth, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name Amen.
