Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you wholeheartedly in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we are deeply encouraged by your humility and compassion in praying even for those who may have opposed you.

Your heart reflects what our Lord taught us, to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us, as it is written in Matt 5:44, and to hunger and thirst for what is right before God. Jesus said in Matt 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. And again in John 8:32, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. It is only the truth of Christ that can break the chains of Satan's lies, for Satan is the father of lies and blinds the minds of those who do not yet know the Lord. We agree with you that education and position, even studying and practicing law, does not make a person righteous, for it is written in Rom 3:10, There is no one righteous, no, not one, and in 1 Cor 1:27, God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise.

We also join you in praying from Psalm 51:16-17, For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. How we need that broken and contrite heart in ourselves and in those we pray for, that God would grant repentance and a new heart as He promised in Ezek 36:26, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. We pray too that we would not boast or look down on others, remembering that we all fall short of the glory of God and that it is only by grace through faith in Jesus that any of us are saved.

We now pray together with you. Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We thank You for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to Your will, as it is written in Rom 8:26. Lord, we lift up the team you have placed on our brother's and sister's heart, together with their lawyers and legal representatives. We ask that You shine Your light into any darkness and expose every lie, and that You set them free by the truth of Jesus Christ. We plead the blood of Jesus over those who are Yours, Your chosen ones and all who belong to Christ, and we ask that You cover them with Your peace that passes all understanding and grant them wisdom and understanding. Teach us all to be righteous and compassionate as You are compassionate. Stir the hearts of those who are disregarding human life and honest communication, convict them by Your Spirit, grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and cause them to hate sin and turn from what is evil in Your sight. Give them, and give us, an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that only You can satisfy. Forgive sins, Lord, as You are faithful and just to forgive, and help all involved to walk in integrity and truth. We do not ask for vengeance, for vengeance belongs to You, but we ask for mercy, justice, and salvation, for You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth as it is written in 1 Tim 2:4. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ, in whose name we have access to You and in whose name alone we are saved, and we pray that You will be glorified in all these things. Amen.

We were grateful to read your prayer and we want to stand with you in it. The way you are carrying this burden matters, you are not wanting to look down on anyone, yet you are deeply grieved by dishonesty and disregard for others, and you are asking God to do what only He can do in hearts.

That thirst for truth and righteousness you are praying for is something God Himself creates. We hear your desire not just for outward change but for an inward turning, where people come to see wrong for what it is and want to walk a different way. That kind of change is slow, often unseen work of the Spirit, and your steady intercession is part of how God works.

We join you in continuing to lift the team at ### and their lawyers and representatives before the Lord, asking for mercy, for clarity, and for hearts that become tender toward what is right and compassionate. And we also pray for you as you carry this, that you would know peace and not grow weary in praying.

It can help to keep a simple rhythm, bringing the same names before God regularly and then resting the outcome with Him, trusting the Holy Spirit who is already interceding.

Father, we bring these lawyers and this team to You in Jesus name. Work gently in their hearts, turn them toward truth and toward mercy, and cover Your people with peace and understanding. Give our friend here rest as he prays, and let Your will be done. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a right and needful prayer, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone salvation is found.

You have well observed that learning and station do not preserve men from sin, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The lawyer and the unlearned alike stand in need of the same mercy. You do well not to boast, nor to look down with contempt, but to plead that the Lord will work upon their hearts. This is according to the mind of God, who delights not in outward sacrifice, but in a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. As it is written, my sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, such O God, You will not despise.

Take comfort in knowing what true repentance is, for many mistake it. It is not a short lived sorrow which turns from sin for a time and then returns to it with greater gusto. True repentance, which is the work of the Spirit of God, gives glory to God. It confesses His omniscience, that He sees all, and it justifies His holy law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. As the children's hymn rightly says, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. It yields works meet for repentance, not in word only but in deed, and it lasts, not for a day or a month, but it continues as a hatred of sin and a thirsting after righteousness.

Faith and repentance are inseparable. No faith can be genuine but such as is consistent with hearty repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Christ. Any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ needs itself to be repented of. We are to look to Jesus, for He was nailed to the cross for sin, and He is set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood. Repentance and remission of sins are to be preached in His name, and where there is real sorrow for sin and a complete change of mind wrought by the Spirit, there is the full and free forgiveness of all sins through His precious blood, even for crimes of deepest dye, for that blood was shed with special view to the redemption of His people.

Remember also that it is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance. He spares and He waits, He gives time and opportunity, not that men should presume, but that they should turn to Him. Your grief over the disregard for human life and honest communication is a Christlike grief, and your prayer that He would stir their hearts is the very means God often uses to bring sinners to Himself. He can give that unquenchable thirst of which our Lord spoke, blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. He can make the hard heart tender and make the soul to hate sin and to love truth.

We will pray with you to this end. Heavenly Father, we come in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, and plead His precious blood. Work by Thy Holy Spirit upon those for whom this prayer is offered, and upon all who are bound in lies and sin. Grant them not a fleeting regret, but godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of. Break and bruise the heart where it is hard, and then pour in Thy sweetness. Give them to see their sin as Thou seest it, to hate it and to forsake it, and give them faith to look to Jesus and to trust Him alone for pardon. Teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and to do that which is good in Thy sight. Let Thy will be done, and let Thy name be exalted on high through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in this earnest prayer and thank God for the hunger He has placed in your heart for truth and righteousness. Your request is good and according to Scripture, for Jesus Himself stood and cried, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink, and He promised that whoever believes in Him will have rivers of living water flowing from within. The Lord also said, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. To pray for such a thirst is to pray for what God delights to give.

We pray with you for the team you mentioned, for their lawyers and all who represent them. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone salvation comes, to have mercy on them, to open their eyes to the truth, and to lead them to repentance. As you quoted from Psalm 51, God does not delight in outward sacrifice but in a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. We ask Him to grant that gift, a heart that is humbled, sober and awakened, that sees sin as He sees it, hates it, and turns from it. For it is God who gives a contrite and humbled heart, full of repentance, and we cannot create it in ourselves.

We also pray that He will clothe those who belong to Him with the breastplate of righteousness, a life of true virtue and holiness in truth, not merely an outward form. Such righteousness guards the heart and cannot be pierced by the enemy. And for those who are still bound by lies, we pray that the Lord will stir them to thirst no more for what cannot satisfy, for earthly water that leaves a person thirsty again, but to come to Christ who alone gives water springing up to eternal life.

It is right that your heart grieves over disregard for human life and for honest communication, for these are precious in the sight of God. Continue to bring this grief to Him in prayer, with thanksgiving and with mercy toward those who have fallen short, remembering that we all fall short of His glory. Do not grow weary in asking. Keep praying that God will teach all involved to love truth, to act with compassion, and to walk in righteousness.

May the Lord hear your prayer, grant peace and understanding to those who trust in Christ, cover them by His blood, and work in every heart so that His will is done and His name is exalted. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
