Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.

We join you in this fervent prayer, lifting up the team at , their lawyers, and legal representatives before the throne of grace. We recognize the power of truth as Jesus declared, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." (John 8:32) The enemy seeks to bind God's children in deception, but we stand firm in the victory of Christ, who came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).

We pray that the precious blood of Jesus would cover every believer involved in this situation, shielding them from spiritual attacks and filling them with divine peace. May they walk in the righteousness that comes from faith, for "the righteous shall live by faith." (Romans 1:17) We ask that God would grant them wisdom and compassion as they navigate these challenges, remembering that "the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." (James 3:17)

It is true that even those in positions of authority and education can fall into grievous sin, as Scripture warns: "Let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn't fall." (1 Corinthians 10:12) We do not judge or condemn, for "all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), but we earnestly pray for repentance and transformation. May their hearts be broken over sin, for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6)

We rebuke the spirit of deception and call for a revival of truth in this situation. May those involved develop an insatiable hunger for righteousness, as Jesus promised: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled." (Matthew 5:6) We pray that their hearts would be stirred to value human life and honest communication, for "the Lord hates... a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers." (Proverbs 6:16, 19)

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your holiness and for the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26). We exalt the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We surrender this situation to Your perfect will, trusting that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we pray that every person involved would come to know You personally if they don't already. May they experience the life-changing power of the gospel: "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9) For those who already know You, we pray for spiritual growth and maturity, that they would "no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine... but speaking truth in love, may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ." (Ephesians 4:14-15)

We pray for a supernatural thirst for Your Word, that they would meditate on it day and night (Psalm 1:2) and that it would be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). May they develop an unshakable commitment to truth, for "the sum of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous ordinances endures forever." (Psalm 119:160)

In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all. Amen.

We are grateful for this prayer you've shared, and we stand with you in asking the Lord to work deeply in those you've named. It is no small thing to bring people who seem hardened before the throne of grace, yet that is exactly where they need to be. We have seen again and again that God can soften hearts no argument could reach. So we simply join you, trusting His mercy, not our own ability to persuade.

One thing that helps us when we pray for others like this is to examine our own hearts quietly before the Lord, not to pretend their wrongs don't grieve us, but to let go of any anger or contempt that might creep in. That way our intercession stays clean, coming from a place of genuine compassion rather than frustration. We can ask Him to give them what we ourselves need daily: eyes that see the truth and the courage to walk in it. Perhaps you might set a regular, short time each week to lift them before the Lord, not rehashing their actions but simply asking the Holy Spirit to stir what no earthly voice can.

Let's pray:

Lord Jesus, we bring this team before You. You see where they are bound and where truth has been traded for convenience. Have mercy on them. Stir an ache for righteousness they cannot shake, a thirst no lie can satisfy. Guard the Christians among them, steady their hearts with Your peace, and give them wisdom to carry Your light gently but firmly. Do what only You can do: turn hearts from sin and into the freedom of true repentance. We ask this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

You have asked for the unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness to be kindled in others, and this is a petition well-pleasing to our God, for it is written, "Buy the truth, and sell it not" (Proverbs 23:23). And what is truth? Our Lord Jesus declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). The thirst for righteousness is a thirst for Him, the Sun of Righteousness, who alone can scatter the darkness of sin and self-deceit. Let us set our faces to this prayer with holy resolve.

You mention those bound by Satan's lies, even among the learned lawyers. Do not marvel at this; for the plea of self-righteousness is the most damning chain of all, it is a claim of comparative goodness, a partial righteousness that admits imperfection, yet still dares to stand before God. A perfect righteousness you must have, or else you shall never be admitted to that wedding feast. These educated minds may trust in their study of law, but the law can only condemn; it cannot bring peace. Their boasted righteousness is a burning heap of rubbish, pouring forth thick smoke most obnoxious to the nostrils of a holy God. Pray that the better light of judgment drives out the darkness of their self-righteousness, for if any soul has any righteousness of its own, it is a graceless soul.

Yet see the mercy! The Lord our Righteousness, Jehovah Tsidkenu, has been manifested. Christ Jesus, by His life and sacrificial death, has brought in an everlasting righteousness. God has set Him forth to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins. What a grand truth! The death of Jesus Christ is a resplendent manifestation of divine righteousness, clearing God’s moral government so that He might be just and the justifier of him who believes. This is the granite rock beneath the soil of justification by faith, the imputed righteousness of Christ. To him that works not, but believes on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Let your prayer be that these lawyers see not their own filthy rags, but His spotless robe; that they cease from their own works and rest in Him alone.

You cry, "Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness." This is exactly the work of the Holy Spirit. Buy experimental truth, truth within, real and felt; and buy practical truth, truth in the life, a straightforward and consistent walk. But remember, you cannot have the branches without the root, which is Christ, the center and King of all truth. He is the center of the Church; no bishop, no priest, no legal mind can be that sun. Pray that these souls look to Him, for to spread righteousness and save sinners is His one purpose, and nothing shall tempt Him from it. The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. May it please the Spirit to break their hearts with a sight of the crucified One, and then to bind them up with the glorious truth, "The Lord our Righteousness." In this great name we hope, and for His glory we pray.

Your prayer for those lawyers is a holy longing, and the cry from Psalm 51 is the very altar upon which God looks with favor. A broken and contrite heart He will not despise. This is the sacrifice that matters, not the outward show of knowledge or the status of their profession. For a man may master every statute of men and yet be utterly ignorant of the righteousness that is of truth, the righteousness that renders the soul impenetrable like a breastplate. You ask that they be given an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. So be it, but understand this thirst: it does not come by force. Christ stands and cries, “If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink.” He compels no one. He invites. So pray that the Spirit would stir their hearts to feel the scorching heat of their own sin, that they would become weary of the false water of worldly gain and begin to hunger and thirst after righteousness with all desire. That is a divine appetite, a transference of the soul’s greed from gold to God. And such thirst shall indeed be filled.

But look closely at the condition of the men you name. If they have received the knowledge of the truth and yet sin wilfully, trampling on honest communication and disregarding human life, then what remains for them? Not a gentle tap, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation that devours the adversaries. The fire is unquenchable. Just as the bush burned and was not consumed, so that fire burns eternally and never exhausts its fuel. Your prayer must therefore wrestle with holy fear, not only asking for mercy but also confessing the justice of God should they refuse to turn. For there is no sacrifice remaining for deliberate sins after enlightenment, only the dreadful prospect of that flame. So plead that they would not be like trees that receive all the care of the gardener and yet yield no fruit, fit only to be rooted up and cast into the fire.

Yet, because you pray in the name of Jesus, remember what His blood does. It covers the chosen and imparts peace, not a peace that soothes sin but a peace that kills enmity and creates a new man in righteousness and holiness of truth. This is no figure, no shadow, but the reality wrought in Baptism: a son is created who hungers for the will of the Father. Ask, then, that the Holy Spirit would convict them not only to hate their sins but to see the beauty of true righteousness, which is a life of universal virtue, unassailable by the devil himself. A soul fixed in such deeds is like a breastplate; many may wound, but none can cut through.

Beware also of the mask of truth. Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, and his ministers as ministers of righteousness. Do you not see how lawyers can clothe injustice in technical words, calling evil good and good evil, all while maintaining a pious front? Know them by their works. So pray that the Lord would tear away every disguise, that their secret counsels would be exposed to their own eyes and they would see themselves as they are, stripped of every pretense. That is the beginning of a broken spirit: the horror of recognizing that one has used God’s gift of intellect for Satan’s service.

Do not cease in this relentless prayer, but add to it the fruit of your own righteousness. As you plead for their souls, let your alms ascend, let your own thirst for righteousness become deeper. For the one who scatters abroad and gives to the poor, his righteousness endures forever, and God will multiply the seed for sowing. Perhaps by your mercy toward the needy, you will obtain mercy for these blind guides. And let your prayer be joined with fasting, that you may learn to hunger not for bread but for the conversion of sinners. Be not weary; the Lord’s arm is not shortened. Only remember that the thirst you ask for them must be kindled by their own will, ignited by the sight of His goodness and the terror of His judgment. Pray, therefore, that they would at last cry out with a contrite heart, and that God, who wills all men to be saved, would not despise that cry.

I hear the cry in your prayer, this longing for people who seem trapped in sin to discover an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. That very longing is a reflection of God’s own heart, and it aligns perfectly with the way He works.

Jesus said plainly that the deepest need in every human being is not for more knowledge or success, but for God himself. We all carry thirsts, physical thirsts, emotional thirsts, a hunger for love and meaning, but beneath them is a spiritual thirst that only the living God can satisfy. You can drink at the wells this world offers, whether education, reputation, or legal expertise, and you will thirst again. That is exactly what Jesus told the woman drawing water: even the best the world can give leaves us empty again. So when you pray for these lawyers to be stirred, for their hearts to be broken over sin and awakened to righteousness, you are praying for the only thing that will truly satisfy them.

It is easy to imagine that people who study and uphold the law would naturally be righteous. But the Scriptures show us a different picture. There are those who pursue righteousness through their own efforts, through careful rule-keeping or intellectual prowess, yet never attain the righteousness of God. Why? Because they are ignorant of the righteousness that comes only by faith in Jesus Christ. They go about establishing their own version of what is right, and in doing so never submit themselves to the real thing. True righteousness is not something we achieve; it is given to us as a gift when we believe. It is imputed to us by a God who makes us right with himself through the finished work of Christ.

That is why the prayer you offered for a broken spirit and a contrite heart is so powerful. A person who sees themselves as self-sufficient, who trusts in their training or their arguments, will never hunger for what God alone can give. But when the Spirit brings conviction, when they glimpse their own poverty, then a holy thirst is born: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” That hunger drives a person to Jesus, the only one who quenches the thirst of the soul. He said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” Not to a system, not to a program, not to a set of ethics, but to a Person who is truth and righteousness in the flesh.

So I encourage you to keep praying relentlessly, as you have been. Pray that the God who once used famines to turn hearts back to himself would stir a famine of soul in these individuals, a holy dissatisfaction with sin and with self-righteousness. Pray that their smarts and their schooling would no longer be a shield against their need, but that they would discover the righteousness that Christ gives freely to all who believe. And as you pray for them to find that living water, let your own heart drink deeply too. Your grief over dishonesty and disregard for life is itself evidence that your own thirst for God’s truth and righteousness is real. He will fill you even as you intercede, and who knows how He might work in the lives of those you are lifting up?
