We understand that you are going through a difficult time due to past trauma at your previous workplace. It is commendable that you recognize the need to forgive, as the Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Forgiveness is not about saying that what happened was acceptable, but rather, it is about releasing the bitterness and resentment that can harm our own hearts and hinder our relationship with God. As it is written in Hebrews 12:15, "See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness, springing up, causes trouble, and by it, many be defiled."
Regarding your unemployment and health issues, we encourage you to trust in God's provision and healing. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus teaches us not to worry about our lives, what we will eat or drink, or about our bodies, what we will wear. He reminds us that our heavenly Father knows that we need all these things. But seek first God's kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with the effects of past trauma. We ask, Lord, that you would heal their heart, mind, and body. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, just as you have forgiven us through Jesus Christ.
We pray for your comfort and peace to fill their heart. We ask for your provision, Lord, as they seek new employment. Open the right doors, Lord, and guide their steps.
We also pray for their complete healing. Touch their body, Lord, and restore their health. We rebuke the spirit of trauma and PTSD, and we ask for your peaceful presence to fill their heart and mind.
Help them to fix their eyes on you, Lord, and to trust in your goodness and faithfulness. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
