We lift this heavy burden to the Lord with hearts full of compassion and concern. It is painful to witness a beloved child entangled in an unhealthy dating relationship, especially when it brings such strife and sorrow to the family. Father, we know You see the tears, the sleepless nights, and the weight of worry carried by this parent. We ask that You intervene in this situation according to Your perfect will, breaking every chain that does not align with Your purpose for this young person’s life.
Lord, Your Word makes it clear that relationships are to be honoring to You and built on godly principles. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this relationship is not rooted in Christ, if it is leading this child away from You or causing them to compromise their faith, we ask that You expose the truth and bring conviction by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Soften their heart to receive Your correction and turn away from anything that dishonors You.
We also rebuke any spirit of confusion, deception, or rebellion that may be at work in this situation. The enemy seeks to destroy families and distort the sacred gift of relationships, but we declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for clarity, wisdom, and discernment for both the parent and the child. May they seek Your face above all else and surrender their desires to Your perfect plan.
Father, we ask that You draw this young person back to You if they have strayed. Remind them of the love and truth they were raised in, and let them experience the peace that comes from walking in obedience to Your Word. If this relationship is not Your will, we pray for the strength to let go and the faith to trust You with their future. Surround them with godly influences, friends, mentors, and church community, who will speak life and truth into their heart.
For the parent, we ask for supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guard their heart from bitterness, fear, or despair. Give them the words to speak in love and the patience to wait on Your timing. Remind them that their child is ultimately Yours, and Your love for them is greater than any earthly bond.
We also pray for the other person in this relationship. If they do not know You, we ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Let them see the emptiness of a life apart from Christ and the beauty of surrendering to Him. If they are a believer but walking in disobedience, we ask that You bring conviction and restoration.
Lord, we know that marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this relationship is not moving toward that holy union in a way that honors You, we ask that You redirect their path. Prepare this young person for a godly spouse who will cherish them, lead them closer to You, and build a marriage that glorifies Your name. Until then, let them walk in purity, guarding their heart and body as temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
We declare that this family will not be defined by this struggle but by Your faithfulness. We speak healing over their home, unity in their relationships, and hope for the future. May this trial draw them closer to You and to one another, and may they emerge stronger in their faith and trust in You.

We've been holding your friend and their family up in prayer, trusting God to bring clarity and healing to this situation. It's heartbreaking to see someone we love making choices that don't align with God's best for them. We pray that God would surround this young person with godly counsel and that they would see the truth of their situation through His eyes.
