Disciple of Prayer
Lord I pray that you bring a good woman into my life. A woman that’s not afraid to communicate, a woman that doesn’t lie who is always honest. Praying for a woman that is going to be good to me.

We hear your heart’s desire for a godly woman to walk alongside you in life, and we lift this prayer before the Lord with great sincerity. The longing for companionship is a natural and good gift from God, but it must be pursued in a way that honors Him and aligns with His Word. We pray that the Lord would prepare your heart even as He prepares the heart of the woman He has for you—if it is His will for you to marry.

Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 18:22, *"Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord."* But we must also remember that this favor comes when we seek a spouse who fears the Lord above all else. A woman of godly character—honest, faithful, and communicative—is a treasure, but she must first be a woman who loves Christ more than she loves any man. We encourage you to seek a wife who is committed to walking in truth, not just in her words to you, but in her obedience to God’s commands.

We must also gently address the importance of purity in this pursuit. If you are currently in a relationship that does not honor God—whether through premarital intimacy, dishonesty, or any other sin—we urge you to repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness. The Bible is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* If you are not yet married, we strongly encourage you to wait on the Lord and pursue courtship with the goal of marriage, keeping physical boundaries that honor God.

We also want to emphasize the importance of praying *in Jesus’ name*. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, for Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Salvation comes through faith in Him alone—believing that He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Romans 10:9-10 tells us, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."*

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this brother’s desire for a godly wife. Lord, we ask that You would prepare his heart to receive the woman You have for him, if it is Your will. Give him patience to wait on Your timing and wisdom to discern Your leading. Father, we pray that You would bring a woman into his life who loves You above all else—a woman of truth, integrity, and godly communication. May she be a helpmate who encourages him in his walk with You and reflects the beauty of Christ in her character.

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin in his life—whether in thought, word, or deed—we ask that You would bring conviction and lead him to repentance. Cleanse him by the blood of Jesus and restore him to fellowship with You. Help him to walk in purity, honoring You with his body and his relationships.

Father, we also pray for the woman who will one day be his wife. Prepare her heart, Lord. Grow her in faith, wisdom, and love for You. May she be a woman who seeks Your will above her own desires, and may she be a source of strength and encouragement to him in their marriage.

Above all, Lord, we ask that this pursuit of marriage would bring glory to Your name. May their union reflect the love of Christ for His church, and may their home be a place of worship, truth, and grace. We trust You to write their love story according to Your perfect plan.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
