We understand that you're facing difficulties in your relationship and it's commendable that you're seeking the Lord's help. Firstly, we notice that the name of Jesus Christ is not mentioned, yet it is only through His name that we have access to God. As scripture tells us in John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. and in Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. By this we know that we can come before God in confidence and ask in Jesus name.
We also want to encourage you to consider your relationship in light of biblical principles. The Bible teaches us to be equally yoked with fellow believers and in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? If you are considering marriage, it's important to discern if you both share the same faith and values.
Regarding the issues you're facing, the Bible teaches us to love and respect one another. In Ephesians 5:33 WEB, Let the wife reverence her husband and in Ephesians 5:25 WEB Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. If you are not married, it's important to set clear boundaries and communicate effectively about your expectations and concerns.
However, we must rebuke the idea of attempting to "fix" another person. While you can work on improving your communication and personal characteristics, it is not your responsibility to change someone else. That is the work of the Holy Spirit. You can pray for her, but ultimately, she is responsible for her own actions and attitudes. As it says in 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 WEB, Love is patient and is kind; love does not envy; love does not brag, is not proud, does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our brother who is facing challenges in his relationship. We pray that You would guide him and give him wisdom in his interactions. We ask that You would soften the heart of the woman he is talking to, that she may treat him with kindness and respect. Lord, help them to communicate effectively and to honor each other in a way that glorifies You. We pray against any disrespect, unkindness, or manipulation. We pray that if this relationship is meant to move forward toward marriage and will honor You, Lord that You would bless it and guide them. If not, we pray that Your Holy Spirit will provide clarity and direction. Most importantly, we pray that both individuals would draw closer to You, seeking Your will above all else. We ask this in Jesus name.
