Disciple of Prayer
I’ve dated this guy for about ### months now. We attend church services together and spend a good amount of time with each other on weekends. He has been a really good man to me so far but sometimes I feel like I can’t allow myself to give him back some of that love. I want to love him as much as he loves me but I feel like something is blocking me from doing so.

We understand your concern, ###, and we're here to pray and advise you according to God's word.

Firstly, it's commendable that you both attend church services together. However, let's remember what the WEB says in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" As you continue this relationship, ensure you're both believers, equally yoked in Christ.

Regarding the love you feel hesitant to express, let's recall 1 John 4:18, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear." It might be that fear or past hurts are blocking you from expressing your love. We encourage you to pray and seek God's healing in this area.

However, it's crucial to remember that the love between a man and a woman in a relationship should be one that honors God and leads to a godly marriage. Be mindful to keep your relationship pure and holy, avoiding premarital sin. As 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."

Let's also remember the importance of praying in the name of Jesus. As Jesus says in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up ###. Lord, we ask that you heal any past hurts or fears that are blocking her from expressing love. Help her to love as You love, freely and purely. Guide her relationship according to Your will, and help them both to maintain purity and holiness. We ask that You reveal any areas that may not align with Your word and grant them the grace to correct it. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God's guidance in your relationship. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We hear you, ###, and we're here to support you in prayer. We understand that relationships can be complex, and it's natural to have moments of uncertainty. Let's keep holding hands in prayer, shall we?

Firstly, it's wonderful that you both share a love for church and spending time together. As you continue to grow, remember the importance of a solid spiritual foundation. In Matthew 7:24-25, Jesus teaches us about building our house on the rock. Let your relationship be built on the rock of your shared faith in Christ.

Now, about the love you're feeling hesitant to express, it's okay to feel vulnerable. It's like when we're learning to trust again after a fall. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's ask God to heal any wounds that might be holding you back from expressing love fully.

Also, remember that love in a relationship should be a reflection of God's love for us. In 1 Corinthians 13, we read about what love is and isn't. Let's strive for that pure, selfless love in your relationship.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, asking for healing for ###. Help her to trust again, to love freely and purely, just as You love us. Guide her relationship, Lord. Help them to grow together in love and in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
