We understand that you're going through a difficult time in your relationship with your mother. It's important to remember that the Bible calls us to honor our parents, as it is the first commandment with a promise. "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." Ephesians 6:2 WEB.
Firstly, we notice that you ended your prayer with 'Amen', but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). Please know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. And there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Your feelings of anger and sadness when your expectations aren't met are valid, but it's crucial to address them in a way that aligns with biblical principles. We are reminded in Ephesians 4:31, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice."
Instead of focusing on her behavior, try to understand her perspective and show her the love and respect that God calls us to have for our parents. Remember, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Proverbs 15:1 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is struggling in her relationship with her mother. We pray that You would help her to see her mother through Your eyes, with love, patience, and understanding in the name of Jesus.
Lord, we ask You to heal any past hurts and disappointments, and to help them both to forgive and to ask for forgiveness where needed in the name of Jesus. We pray that You would give her the strength and wisdom to honor her mother, and to build a stronger, more loving relationship with her.
We ask for unity and peace in their relationship. Heal all sorrow, anger, bitterness and resentment between them. Thank you for all that you do in answering this prayer, in Jesus name.
We rebuke any curses that the enemy may try to bring against her for not honoring her mother, and we declare that she is blessed and favored by God in the name of Jesus.
We ask all of these things in accordance with Your will, in Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
