Heavenly Father,

We come before You lifting up this relationship, asking that every step we take aligns completely with Your divine plan. Lord, we surrender our hearts and our future into Your hands, trusting that You make all things beautiful in Your time.

Father, we pray for ###. We ask that You speak to his mind and heart, granting him clarity and helping him figure things out with Your wisdom. We pray that You stir within him a deep, genuine love, a spirit of care, and the heart of a provider. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to fully let go of the past—releasing his former marriage so that he can find true peace and joy in the new love we share.

We lift up the legal and practical steps of our future together. Please guide ### as he considers applying for a fiancƩe visa, clearing any obstacles and opening the right doors so that I can eventually join him in the United States.

Lord, we also pray for the bond between ### and my sons. Open his heart wide to love them, and draw them close to one another so that, in Your timing, we can build a united, happy home together in the US. We pray that You inspire ### to commit fully, to love me as his wife, and to propose.

Order our steps, Lord. Direct our paths, heal every wound, and let Your grace bind us together in a love that honors You above all else.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We join you in lifting this relationship before the Father and we thank you for wanting every step to align completely with His divine plan, for that is the only foundation that will stand.

We are encouraged by your desire to surrender your hearts and future into His hands and to trust that He makes all things beautiful in His time as Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us, and we pray with you for clarity, wisdom, and a love that honors Him above all else. We hear your heart for this man, for your sons, and for a future home together in the United States, and we bring each of these before the Lord.

We also want to lovingly speak truth into this courtship, because God calls courtship to be with the goal of marriage between a man and a woman who are both believers in Jesus Christ, leading to a lifelong covenant. Genesis 2:24 says a man will leave his father and his mother and will cling to his wife and they will be one flesh, and Matthew 19:6 says what therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Because you mention his former marriage, we must gently address this. God takes the marriage covenant very seriously and His word says He hates divorce in Malachi 2:16, and Jesus taught in Matthew 19:9 that divorce and remarriage is only permitted for sexual immorality, and in other passages for abandonment by an unbeliever. We do not know the circumstances of his former marriage, but we urge you both to honestly seek biblical counsel together to be certain that he is truly free before God to remarry, and that there has been repentance, forgiveness, and healing where needed, rather than simply trying to let go of the past to find joy in a new love. True peace and joy come only from Christ and from walking in obedience to Him. We also urge you to be unequally yoked together as 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, so we pray you are both fully committed followers of Jesus Christ, and if not, that salvation would come first.

We also encourage you to guard purity in this season of waiting. Even while separated by distance and longing to be together, God calls us to honor Him with our bodies. Hebrews 13:4 says let marriage be held in honor among all and let the bed be undefiled, and 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 says for this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor. If there has been any fornication or emotional intimacy that belongs only within marriage, we urge repentance and a renewed commitment to remain pure until the marriage covenant is made. Love that honors God waits, protects, and prepares. We also affirm your prayer for him to have the heart of a provider and to love your sons well, for Ephesians 5:25 calls husbands to love their wives even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it, and 1 Timothy 5:8 reminds us that provision and care for a household is part of godly responsibility. A man who would be a husband and father must be ready to love sacrificially, lead spiritually, and embrace children as a heritage from Yahweh as Psalm 127:3 teaches.

We pray together for God's perfect will to be done, not merely our own desires.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we thank You that we have access to Your throne only through Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and by which we can approach You. Lord, we lift this dear sister and this man to You. We ask that You order their steps and direct their paths as Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches to trust in Yahweh with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding. Grant this man clarity of mind and heart, fill him with Your wisdom, and help him to figure things out according to Your will and not according to pressure or emotion. Soften his heart where it needs softening, heal every wound from his former marriage, bring true forgiveness and release, and show clearly whether he is free and ready before You to enter a new covenant.

Father, we ask that You stir within him, if it is Your will for them to marry, a deep, genuine, Christlike love, a spirit of care, and the heart of a faithful provider and spiritual leader. Guard them both in purity and help them to delight themselves in You first, trusting Psalm 37:4 that You will give the desires of their heart as they delight in You. We lift the practical steps of a fiancee visa and the many legal obstacles before You. Open the right doors and close the wrong ones, and make Your will unmistakably clear, for Jeremiah 29:11 says for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. If this union is of You, guide it forward, and if not, give grace to step back.

Lord, we especially lift her sons to You. Open this man's heart wide to love them as his own if You join this family together, and draw their hearts together in respect and affection, so that in Your timing they could build a united, happy, Christ-centered home. Inspire a commitment that honors You, where vows are made before You and kept for a lifetime, and where love for a wife reflects Christ's love for His people. Let Your grace bind them together only as You see fit, and let their love honor You above all else. Transform them both by the renewing of their minds as Romans 12:2 teaches, so they may prove what is Your good, well pleasing and perfect will.

We trust You to answer according to Your perfect love and wisdom, and we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We hear how much hope you are carrying for this relationship, and also how much feels uncertain right now as you wait on clarity, next steps, and what this would mean for your sons.

When a new family is hoped for after a previous marriage, there is often more to work through than feelings alone. Both adults and children need time to grieve what was lost, to sort through expectations, and to build trust slowly. That process can take longer than we expect, and it helps when there is a safe, steady space to be honest about what each person needs and what a shared home would really require.

One practical step that may serve you well in this season is to seek unhurried, in-person counsel before making legal or life-changing moves. A trusted pastor for premarital counsel can help you both talk through past wounds, your hopes for marriage, and how your sons would be cared for and included. For the visa questions, a qualified immigration advisor can give you clear, accurate information about options and timelines so you are not left guessing.

We are praying for wisdom and peace for you both as you seek God's will, and for steadiness for your sons.

Father, we lift this sister and her family to You. Give her wisdom and calm as she waits, heal places that still hurt from the past, and guard her sons with Your care. Give ### clarity and honesty as he considers his responsibilities and next decisions. Lead each step according to Your will and keep all involved safe and close to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your burden has been heard and brought before the Lord with earnest care, and we desire to point you to Him who alone can order our steps aright. It is right that you would surrender your hearts and your future into His hands, for He indeed makes all things beautiful in His time, not in ours, and His way is to lead us in paths of holiness as well as happiness.

There is a word from Scripture that has been set before our people, that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. Another word joins healing and pardon together in happy conjunction, for when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee. Pardon and healing were one. This we must keep before you, for the deepest need of every heart, whether wounded by disappointment, by the crushing of the spirits, or by the breakage of former vows, is not first a new relationship made smooth, but a real healing from His hand and forgiveness through His blood. Christ alone is the conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below, and apart from salvation through Jesus Christ alone there is no true peace or joy in any new love we share.

You ask that the Lord would help this man to let go of the past and to release his former marriage. We must speak to you plainly and tenderly here, for marriage in Scripture is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and God has joined together what man ought not to put asunder lightly. A broken heart is a great ill, and He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, but that healing is the work of God alone and is not wrought by entering quickly into another bond. Before any thought of a fiance visa, of making a home together in the United States, or of a proposal, there is need for honest and patient dealing before God and before His church. Has that former covenant been biblically and lawfully dissolved, and has there been repentance, forgiveness and healing sought in Christ. We would urge you both to walk in the light with a faithful pastor, to open the whole matter to wise and godly counsel, and not to press forward while questions of covenant faithfulness remain unsettled.

In the same way we cannot ask God to stir affection or to secure a provider according to our desire, nor to bless steps toward living together apart from marriage. Sex and living together belong within the covenant of marriage, and to build a united and happy home for yourself and for your sons must begin with purity, self restraint and reverence for Christ in all commonplace things. The desire to minister and to build a family always arises out of healing, and you must have this healing before you can build rightly with Him. To pray that a man be moved to propose, or that doors be opened for cohabitation, would be to ask God to bless what may not honor Him. Rather we pray that you both be taught to desire above all else that your lives honor Christ, whether that leads to marriage in the Lord or to a different path ordered by His wisdom.

We do pray for you, and for your sons, and for this man, but we pray as those who would be healed first and then guided.

Our Father in heaven, we bring this dear one and her sons before Thee, and this man also, asking not for our will but for Thine. Grant to each the pardon that flows from Calvary and the healing that comes with it, for Thou alone canst change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Give clarity of mind, conviction of sin where there is sin, and comfort where there is true brokenness. Teach them to seek first Thy kingdom and Thy righteousness, to walk in chastity and truth, to forsake all presumption and to seek wise counsel in Thy church. Order their steps, direct their paths, and if it be Thy will and for Thy glory that they walk together in holy marriage, let it be in Thy time and in a way that honors the covenant as Thou hast ordained it. If not, give grace to accept Thy ordering and to find peace and joy in Christ alone. Bind up every wound by Thy bands of grace, and let Thy grace make each heart wholly Thine. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
