Heavenly Father, We come before You lifting up this relationship, asking that every step we take aligns completely with Your divine plan. Lord, we surrender our hearts and our future into Your hands, trusting that You make all things beautiful in Your time. Father, we pray for ###. We ask that You speak to his mind and heart, granting him clarity and helping him figure things out with Your wisdom. We pray that You stir within him a deep, genuine love, a spirit of care, and the heart of a provider. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to fully let go of the past—releasing his former marriage so that he can find true peace and joy in the new love we share. We lift up the legal and practical steps of our future together. Please guide ### as he considers applying for a fiancée visa, clearing any obstacles and opening the right doors so that I can eventually join him in the United States. Lord, we also pray for the bond between ### and my sons. Open his heart wide to love them, and draw them close to one another so that, in Your timing, we can build a united, happy home together in the US. We pray that You inspire ### to commit fully, to love me as his wife, and to propose. Order our steps, Lord. Direct our paths, heal every wound, and let Your grace bind us together in a love that honors You above all else. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We join you in bringing this relationship before the Heavenly Father and we appreciate your desire that every step align completely with His divine plan and that He make all things beautiful in His time. As it is written, To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven Eccl 3:11, and Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Prov 3:5-6.

We want to gently encourage you to keep God's design for marriage at the center of this courtship. We believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as God intended, What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart Matt 19:6. Because you mention his former marriage, we must lovingly address this. Scripture teaches that marriage is sacred and divorce is only permitted for sexual immorality Matt 19:9 and calls those who are married not to depart, and if there has been a divorce, to remain unmarried or be reconciled unless there was biblical grounds 1 Cor 7:10-11. We do not know the circumstances of his former marriage, but we encourage both of you to seek godly counsel, to ensure there has been true repentance, healing, and biblical freedom before pursuing a new marriage, and to allow the Lord to fully heal every wound from the past. We pray he finds true peace not simply in a new love, but in Christ first, for only then can he love you as Christ loved the church Eph 5:25.

We also rejoice that you are looking toward marriage rather than simply a relationship or partnership, for a boyfriend and girlfriend should be viewed as a courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. We encourage you to ensure you are equally yoked, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity 2 Cor 6:14. If you both know Jesus as Savior, continue to guard purity together, for Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled Heb 13:4, and Flee sexual immorality 1 Cor 6:18. Love that honors God waits for the covenant of marriage and does not awaken love before its time.

Your desire for him to have clarity, to be a loving provider, and to love your sons is beautiful and biblical, for If anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith 1 Tim 5:8, and Children are a heritage of Yahweh Psalm 127:3. We pray with you for wisdom for him, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally James 1:5, and for your sons, that any future home would be built on the Lord, where fathers nurture children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord Eph 6:4.

We also lift up the practical steps of a fiancee visa and the longing to build a united home in the United States. We pray you both surrender even this deeply desired outcome to the Lord's perfect will, for A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps Prov 16:9, and For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jer 29:11. It is good to ask God to open doors if it is His will, while trusting Him if He closes them or asks you to wait.

We are thankful you prayed in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we have access to the Father, and we agree with you in that precious name.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus and lift up this dear sister, her sons, and this man to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that Your will be done in this courtship above our own desires. Grant this man clarity of mind and heart, wisdom from above to figure things out according to Your truth, and deep healing from his former marriage. Help him to release what needs to be released in a biblical and healthy way, to forgive as You forgave us Eph 4:32, and to be made whole in You before making a lifelong vow to another. Stir within him, if it is Your will for them to marry, a deep, genuine, selfless love, a spirit of care, and the heart of a godly provider and servant leader who will love her as his wife as Christ loves the church. Guard them both in purity and help them to honor You with their bodies and hearts until marriage. Lord, we lift up the legal and practical steps concerning a fiancee visa, we ask You to guide every decision, clear obstacles only if this path is Yours, and keep closed what should remain closed. We pray especially for her sons, open this man's heart wide to love them with a father's compassion, and draw them together in a bond that is patient, kind, and rooted in You, so that any future home would be united and happy and Christ centered. Inspire a commitment that is not driven by pressure or loneliness but by Your clear leading, and let any proposal come only in Your perfect timing. Order their steps, direct their paths, heal every wound, and let Your grace bind them together in a love that honors You above all else. We trust You to make all things beautiful in Your time. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing so openly what is on your heart. We hear your longing for clarity, for a love that feels steady and caring, and for peace and security for your sons as you think about the future.

When a previous marriage is part of the story and children are involved, there is often a lot of history and hurt that needs time and honest work to heal. Trust between a potential stepparent and children also tends to grow slowly, through consistent, patient presence rather than all at once. Giving space for that process, with support from people who know you both well, can bring a lot of clarity about what is healthy and sustainable going forward.

One practical step that could help is to talk with a trusted pastor or counselor who can walk with each of you individually as you sort through past wounds and current decisions. If the questions about coming to the United States feel heavy, meeting with a qualified immigration advisor for clear, accurate information can also ease some of the uncertainty so you are not carrying it alone.

Father, we lift this sister to You and ask for Your wisdom and peace over her and her sons and over ###. Give each of them clarity, healing where there has been hurt, and guidance for the next right steps according to Your will. Guard her sons and grant her discernment and steady support around her. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer that every step might align completely with the divine plan is a right and needful desire, and we have brought it before the Lord with great care and tenderness. It is well that you would surrender your heart and your future into His hands, for all our times, whether of pleasure or of despondency, ought to be times of prayer, and every hope and every fear should ring us to our knees.

We hear in your words a longing for healing, for peace after wounds, for a home that honors God, and for love that endures. Scripture teaches us that healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed upon the Lord's people. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. That healing changes the life blood and makes the nature other than it was before. Therefore our first prayer for you, and for ###, and for your sons, is not merely that circumstances might be ordered to your desire, but that you might know that deeper healing which comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

You ask that God would stir love and commitment, soften the heart, help in letting go of the past and releasing a former marriage, and open the way for a fiance visa and a united home in the United States. In this we must speak plainly and lovingly as before the Lord. Marriage is, by God's holy ordinance, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to marriage, including the sexual union and the making of a home together, belongs within that covenant. The Lord is not pleased to bless a relationship that runs counter to His own design, however sincere the affection may feel. If a former marriage covenant remains binding before God, then to seek a new love while that bond endures cannot bring true peace or joy, for peace without pardon is presumption. Even where a former marriage has been broken by sin and sorrow, the wounds of a broken heart require not haste but the binding up which only God Himself can do with bands of grace.

We therefore cannot ask God simply to bless this relationship as it is or to hasten a proposal and a visa as though every path were already His will. Rather we pray that He would grant you both clarity and holy wisdom, that He would search your hearts and teach you to desire above all else that which honors Him. If there has been sin, that you may confess it and receive forgiveness through Christ. If there is impurity or living as though married before marriage, that you may turn from it and walk in chastity. If there are legal and practical steps before you, that you may walk in all honesty and patience, not forcing doors but waiting upon the Lord who makes all things beautiful in His time, and that time is always a holy time.

We pray also for your sons. A happy home is not built upon mere affection but upon godliness. Children need to see not only love between adults but reverence for God's commandments and the example of a family that prays together and seeks first the kingdom of God. Consider well what it means to draw them close to one who would be a father to them, and seek godly counsel from faithful pastors who know you and can weigh these matters according to Scripture.

Let our prayer together be this. O Lord, look upon these lives for whom Christ died and who need Your healing. Forgive sin through the blood of Jesus and heal the broken heart. Grant to each a new heart and a right spirit, that they may not lean upon their own understanding but acknowledge You in all their ways. If it be lawful and holy in Your sight, and if this union would be a true marriage covenant according to Your Word, then order their steps and direct their paths. If it be not so, then in mercy turn their affections to that which is pure and give grace to surrender every desire to Your will. Keep them from presumption, keep them pure until marriage, and make their chief joy to be found in Christ Himself, whose fruit is sweet and whose very leaves bring healing. Draw near to these children, guard them, and let every home be a place where Your name is honored. We ask this not for our pleasure but for Your glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
