Let us First Rebuke the use of the word partner in this context. This word is often used to avoid saying husband, wife, boyfriend, or girlfriend. Marriage should be between one man and one woman, with the goal being a lifelong commitment. This word is also used to imply living in fornication and is often used in place of the word spouse. It should be avoided in favor of marriage.
We are instructed to be Holy as our Father in Heaven is Holy. We are to be set apart from the world. We are not to act like the world, or talk like the world. We are to be a peculiar people called out from the World to be like Jesus Christ.
We are encouraged to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
Therefore, let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this individual who desires a strong relationship with you. We pray that you will guide them in your truth and teach them your will. May they be firmly rooted in the teachings of the Bible, seeking you diligently with all their heart and soul.
Lord, we ask that you reveal to them the importance of aligning their relationships with your divine principles. Guide them towards a godly spouse if it is your will, and help them to understand the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman.
Help them to maintain purity in their lives and relationships. We pray for their courtship to be honoring to you, Lord. We ask for forgiveness for any past or present impurity, fornication or adultery. We ask for a hedge of protection around them to avoid future sexual sin. We ask for conviction and repentance so that they may be forgiven and walk in your will if they have sinned in this manner.
We also pray that they will come to know you more deeply, growing in their faith and trust in you. May they find their identity in Christ, being transformed into His likeness. Let them walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which they have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Lord, we ask that you surround them with a community of believers who will support and encourage them in their walk with you. May they be a light to the world, reflecting your love and grace in all their relationships.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to you oh God. For it is written:
Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
