We join you in lifting this request before the Lord, and we are grateful that you have brought this matter to Him in the name of Jesus. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and we are reminded of the truth in John 14:6, where Jesus declares, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* Your acknowledgment of the Holy Spirit’s guidance is also commendable, for He is our Comforter and Teacher, leading us into all truth (John 14:26).
However, we must address something important in your request: the term *"relationship."* In Scripture, romantic connections are not left vague or open-ended but are designed by God with clear purpose and boundaries. If you are speaking of a courtship between you and your son—meaning a godly, intentional relationship aimed at marriage between a man and a woman who are both believers in Christ—then we will pray accordingly. But if this is not the case, we must lovingly yet firmly remind you that any romantic or physical relationship outside of a biblical marriage between one man and one woman is sin. This includes premarital relationships (fornication) or same-sex relationships (homosexuality), both of which are explicitly condemned in Scripture (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Hebrews 13:4, Romans 1:26-27).
If this relationship involves anything other than a Christ-centered courtship between a man and a woman with marriage as the goal, we urge you to repent and turn away from it. God’s design for relationships is holy, and He calls us to purity. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 says, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."*
Assuming this is a courtship between you and your son (a man) with the intent of marriage, we pray earnestly for God’s will to be done. If there has been brokenness, sin, or division, we ask the Lord to bring conviction, repentance, and restoration—*only* if it aligns with His Word. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

Holy Spirit, convict both hearts of any sin, pride, or ungodly motives, and lead them into repentance and righteousness. If this relationship is not aligned with Your Word—whether in purpose, purity, or design—we ask that You break it apart and redirect their hearts toward Your perfect will. Father, guard their minds and bodies from temptation, and let their desire be only for what pleases You.

Help them to seek You first, to walk in obedience, and to trust in Your timing. We rebuke any influence of the enemy seeking to distort or destroy what You intend for good. Let Your light expose any darkness, and let Your truth prevail. Above all, may Your name be glorified, and may Your kingdom come in their lives.

We're here with you, praying for your relationship. We believe that God can restore and heal any situation, and we're trusting in His power to do so. We're also reminded of Philippians 4:6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
