We understand your fear and anxiety, but we want to remind you that God's perfect love casts out all fear. Let's come together with you to lay your concerns before our Heavenly Father in prayer. First, let us address a few things.
Let us first discuss the importance of the name of Jesus. It is wonderful that you concluded your prayer with 'in Jesus' name'. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible tells us:
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” Acts 4:12 WEB.
It is also by the name of Jesus Christ that God the Father has highly exalted Him and given Him the name that is above all names.
In your prayer request you said, "He's very angry, very grumpy, and very unaffectionate." We want to remind you that the Bible tells us to not let the sun go down on our wrath Eph 4:26. The Bible also tells us that husbands are to love their wives just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. Eph 5:25. Husbands should remember that even if your wife has not been treating you the way you desire, you are to be loving and affectionate because you are commanded to love her as Christ loved the church. The wife is to see that her husband has her honor and respect.
Your fear of him leaving you is understandable but let us examine what the Bible says about love.
"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with" 1 Cor 13:4-8 WEB.
This is the love that is to be expressed between a husband and a wife.
Now, let us pray together for your relationship.
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our sister who is in fear and anxiety about her relationship. We pray that You will bless this relationship with happy moments and laughter. Strengthen the bond between them, and help them communicate effectively without arguments.
Lord, as she prepares to travel, we pray for her safety and for Your peace to guard her heart and mind. We ask that You will work in her relationship, softening her spouse's heart, and replacing anger with patience and kindness. Help them to love each other as You have loved us, and to be a reflection of Your love to the world. Amen.
Remember in Psalms 34:18 that:
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Finally, do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6,7.
