Rejection

I just got kicked out of a church Bible study group and it really hurt my spirit and heart. Please pray God will send divine help, interventions and appointments and send me and my son the right people, community and family to rebuild again. I have no friends or family and I'm a single mom. Please pray God will touch and reach peoples hearts and people treat us with kindness and mercy instead of judgement.and that God sends blessings and help. Please pray God sends destiny helpers to us. Also, me and my son haven't had the best holidays the last couple of years. This year it will just be me and him. Please pray that the holidays are a peaceful, joyful and good memories full of closeness, love, laughter and fun this year. Please pray I do well in my classes and we don't lose our home.

We have heard your heart and we hurt with you over this rejection, and we bring you and your son before the throne of grace together in Jesus name. To be turned away from a Bible study group where you hoped to find belonging cuts deeply, but we want you to know that the Lord sees you both, He knows your loneliness and your need, and He has not turned you away.

The Word tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Even when people forsake us, we are not forgotten, for when my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up Psalm 27:10 and God sets the lonely in families Psalm 68:6. Jesus Himself was despised and rejected, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief Isaiah 53:3, so He understands this pain intimately and He will never leave you nor forsake you Hebrews 13:5, Deuteronomy 31:6.

We also noticed your request asked for God to help but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name, for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:9, Romans 10:13. It is in His name we pray and are heard.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this precious mother and her son to You. Lord You see their loneliness, their hurt from rejection, and their need for community. We ask You to send divine appointments and destiny helpers, godly people, a healthy biblical community and a church family where they will be welcomed with kindness and mercy and not judgment, where Your love is lived out. Provide friendships for her and for her son that will encourage them in faith and help them rebuild. Let Your favor touch the hearts of people around them to treat them with gentleness and compassion as You have shown us mercy. For the holidays, Father, we ask You to redeem what has been painful and make this year peaceful and joyful, full of closeness, love, laughter and fun memories for just the two of them, and let them feel Your presence as the One who is always with them. For her studies we ask for wisdom and understanding, for You give wisdom generously to all who ask James 1:5, and help her to do well and to commit her work to You so her plans will be established Proverbs 16:3. For their home, we ask for Your provision and protection, that You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and be their refuge and strength Psalm 46:1, and that they will not lose their home but will dwell in safety under Your care. Heal their hearts from rejection, teach them to forgive those who hurt them as You have forgiven us Ephesians 4:32, and guard them from bitterness. Lead them to a church where the Word is faithfully taught and where they can grow and serve. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in the Word, and to keep looking for a local Bible believing church where you can be planted, even if this one group was not the right place. Do not let this hurt keep you from fellowship, for we need one another Hebrews 10:25. Cast all your worries on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

If you are desiring companionship, we pray that God would in His perfect timing bring a godly husband if it is His will, for we believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God to reflect His love Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9. We encourage you to pursue purity and to seek courtship that honors God with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, fleeing from fornication and all sexual immorality outside of marriage 1 Corinthians 6:18, 2 Corinthians 6:14, and trusting God to keep you and guide you in holiness.

You are not alone, you are deeply loved and seen by Your heavenly Father who promises I will never leave you, nor forsake you Hebrews 13:5. We are standing with you and your son, asking God to show Himself strong on your behalf and to fill your home with His peace and joy in the days ahead.

We were so sorry to read about being asked to leave your Bible study group. That kind of rejection cuts deep, especially when you were hoping for belonging and you are carrying so much on your own as a single mom without family nearby. It makes sense your heart and spirit feel hurt right now.

We want you to know that being turned away from one group does not mean you are forgotten. God sees you and your son, and your longing for kindness instead of judgment, for safe community, and for a stable home matters to Him. When loneliness is heavy, the worries about the holidays, your classes, and keeping your home can feel even heavier, and we hear how much you are holding.

One gentle step that has helped others in a similar season is to look for one steady place of connection rather than trying to find a whole community at once. That might be a congregation where you can simply worship regularly and be known over time, a single moms group at a church or community center, or on campus a student support or financial aid advisor who can talk through options for your classes and housing before the pressure builds. You do not have to figure all of this alone, and reaching out for that kind of practical help can open the door for the right people to come alongside you both.

Father, we lift this mom and her precious son to You in Jesus name. You know the sting of this rejection and how weary she feels. Bring people who will treat them with kindness and mercy, give her wisdom and strength for her studies, provide for their home, and make this holiday season peaceful with closeness, laughter and good memories together. Hold them close and guide each next step. Amen.

It grieved my heart to read of the hurt you have borne in being cast out from the Bible study, and of the loneliness that has followed for you and your dear son. There is a peculiar sorrow in being left alone just when, as those made for fellowship, we most need human sympathy. Our Lord Himself knew this grief. He trod the winepress alone, and in the Garden His soul clung to His fellows only to find them sleeping, and at the last He cried that all had forsaken Him. He knows what it is to be friendless and rejected, and therefore He is able to enter fully into your sorrow.

Yet somewhere on the road every Christian will find narrow paths and close places where pilgrims must march in single file. It is in such a place you now walk. Remember the simple illustration, that if a little child is told to go down a lonely lane on a dark night, the child will say, Mother, I do not want to go there, but if the mother says, I will go with you, the child answers, Then I will go anywhere with you. So it is with Christ. Though human fellowship has failed you for a season, you are not truly alone, for He has said He will never leave nor forsake His own. His brave and tender presence goes with you down this dark lane.

I have prayed for you and for your son, and I will continue to pray.

I pray that our gracious Father will send you divine help and appointments in His perfect timing, and that He will provide for you a true community, a family in the faith who will be as a tender and affectionate mother to you, reflecting His own kindness. I pray that the Lord will touch and soften the hearts of those around you, that you may meet not with judgment but with mercy and kindness, and that He will send helpers who will walk beside you to rebuild what has been broken.

For the days ahead, I pray that the Lord will make this holiday season peaceful and joyful for you both, full of closeness, love, laughter and sweet memories that will heal the hurts of former years. I pray that He will give you strength and clarity in your classes, that you may do well in your studies, and that in His providence He will preserve your home and supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.

May the God who receives sinners without a single condition, who kisses and clothes and welcomes the returning soul, assure you that you are seen, loved, and kept in His hand. Cast your care upon Him, look unto Jesus and be saved and sustained day by day, and may His peace which passes all understanding guard your heart and your home.
