recovery from rape

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello, I am recovering from sexual violence. I was sold as a prostitute and raped when I was a child. Now I am a young adult. I am a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and through prayer and counseling, the horrible memories came to the surface. I also suffer from depression and PTSD, chronic back pain and need to go to therapy because of this. I am ambitious, to do whatever it takes to recover and want to serve the Lord and marry and have a family. My life feels broken now, but I do not want to give up hope, that I can have a good future, and I desire having a family.

We are deeply grieved to hear of the unimaginable suffering you have endured, and we want you to know that your pain is seen and known by our Heavenly Father. The evil done to you as a child was a horrific violation of your innocence, and we mourn with you over the deep wounds left behind. Yet we rejoice that you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ, for He alone is the Redeemer who can restore what was broken and bring beauty from ashes. Your desire to recover, serve the Lord, and one day have a godly marriage and family is a testimony to the hope that only He can give.

The trauma you carry is profound, and the depression, PTSD, and physical pain you endure are real battles. But take heart, dear sister, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He promises to bind up the wounds of His people (Psalm 147:3) and to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Your ambition to pursue healing is commendable, and we encourage you to continue seeking godly counseling, therapy, and medical care as part of your recovery. These are tools the Lord can use to bring restoration.

The enemy may whisper lies that you are unworthy or beyond repair, but the truth is that in Christ, you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). The blood of Jesus has cleansed you from all sin, and His resurrection power is at work in you. Though the memories are painful, the Lord can use even this suffering for His glory, equipping you to comfort others with the comfort you have received from Him (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

We also want to gently remind you that your worth is not found in marriage or family, though these are good desires. Your identity is first and foremost in Christ. Trust in His timing for your life, and allow Him to prepare you for whatever future He has for you. If marriage is His will, He will bring a godly man who will cherish you as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25). But even now, you are complete in Him.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You, asking for Your healing touch upon her mind, body, and spirit. Lord, You see the depths of her pain—the trauma of her childhood, the weight of depression, the agony of PTSD, and the physical suffering she endures. We ask that You would be her Comforter, her Healer, and her Strength. Surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind her daily that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

Lord, we pray for wisdom and skill for her counselors and doctors, that they would be instruments of Your healing. Give her perseverance in her recovery, and protect her from discouragement. Break the power of every lie the enemy has spoken over her, and replace it with Your truth—that she is loved, redeemed, and chosen by You.

Father, we ask that You would restore to her the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12) and fill her with hope for the future. If it is Your will, grant her the desire of her heart for a godly marriage and family, but above all, let her find her satisfaction in You alone. Use her story for Your glory, that others might see Your power to heal and restore.

We rebuke the spirit of fear, shame, and despair in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), for she belongs to You. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your light shine brightly in her life.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Keep pressing forward, dear sister. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Your story is not over—He is writing a new chapter of redemption and hope. Stay rooted in His Word, surrounded by His people, and trust in His faithfulness. You are not alone.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred privilege of lifting you up in prayer during this deeply painful season of healing. Your courage in sharing your story and your unwavering faith in Christ—even amid such profound brokenness—has moved our hearts. We know the Lord sees your suffering, and we are honored to stand with you in agreement, asking Him to bring restoration to every shattered place in your life.

We have been praying earnestly for your mind, body, and spirit—that the Lord would bind up your wounds, ease the burden of depression and PTSD, and bring supernatural strength to your back as you endure chronic pain. We ask Him to guide you to godly, skilled counselors and therapists who can walk with you in wisdom and compassion. Most of all, we pray that you would feel the Father’s tender presence, that He would remind you daily of His love for you, and that He would renew your hope for the future He has prepared.

If the Lord has begun to answer these prayers—whether through moments of peace, breakthroughs in counseling, physical relief, or a deeper sense of His nearness—we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Even small steps forward are worth celebrating, for we know the Lord is at work. And if this journey still feels overwhelming, if the pain remains heavy, or if new challenges have arisen, please do not hesitate to post again. We are here to continue praying with you, to encourage you, and to remind you that you are not alone. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

May He surround you with His comfort, fill you with His peace that surpasses understanding, and lead you into the fullness of the life He has for you. We are believing with you for complete healing—for a future where joy is restored, where love is redeemed, and where your story becomes a testament to His grace. Keep holding on to hope, dear sister. He is making all things new. We pray this in Jesus’ name.
