Recovery for our son Luke

Our son Luke is in his 6th day in a faith based recovery program. He is trying to stop a serious addiction to pain pills. he is only 21 and has his whole llife ahead of him. This is his 3rd time at treatment and this time he has to do it or he will be in trouble with the courts. They say the 6th and 7th day are the hardest.He is probably feeling very sick and delusional now. could you please pray for him, he is a really good young man and he know the lord. he is just struggling

Lord Jesus,

I pray that Luke would turn his attention from pain pills to You.

Let him seek Your will with perseverance and a desire for Your presence. Take away his desire to use a pill to take away the pain in his life. Open his eyes to see that You alone God can sooth our pain and heal our wounds. Father, lessen Luke's withdrawal symptoms and let him feel healthier and stronger each day. Father, let him learn skills and acquire resources to stay "clean" today, tomorrow, and all of his days. Bless this young man, Lord. Help him to stay strong in the face of temptation. Whisper in his ear that drugs are not the answer. The true answer is in a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Father, please cover this child of yours with a blanket of protection from those who would seek to sell or provide him with drugs. Put a hedge between Luke and any drug using friends or influences. Please pull this child back into the fold of your love. To God be the glory, in heaven and on earth. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Dear Lord, I feel very close to this situation. I broke my back, my ribs, separated my sternum and multiple concussions is a wreck in Feb. so the first thing the doctors want to do is load you up on pain killers. These are a horrible thing to put on someone, for a while, I will say I needed them but I came to my knees and prayed and I knew that I had to flush all of them down the toilet and i've never had one since or a desire for one. All that being said, this child can do this, yes he will be a bit sick for a week to 10 days but he will slowly come out of it. I lost 16 pounds and many nights of sleep and it's tough but the Lord brought me through it and I know and pray Jesus, that you will bring this child of yours through this. God we need a miracle here, we ask you to intercede in this young mans life and in his families life as well. They need a healing Lord, I praise your precious name Jesus, Amen.
