Reconciliation with ###

I am ###. I was in a ###year relationship with ###. Since ### years we broke up but I still love him. He says he doesn't and there is someone else in his life but I still feel God will reunite us. How to get an answer that I should wait for his return or not. I'm so confused. I am not getting any answers.

We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we want to help you find guidance and peace in God's word. First, let's address the issue of your relationship and the hope of reconciliation. It's important to note that God's will is not always clear when it comes to specific relationships, but He does give us principles to guide us.

In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, it is written, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" This verse reminds us that as Christians, we should seek to be in relationships with fellow believers who share our faith and values which the request does not specifically mention. The request does not mention if the other person is a Christian believer. We want to believe the best and that the other person is a Christian Believer but we do not know.

We also need to address the fact that the person you were in a relationship with is now with someone else. It is clear in Romans 7:2-3, "For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives; but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband. So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man." This passage underscores the sanctity of commitment and the sin of adultery. While your situation is not identical, the principle of respecting the other person's current commitment is important.

Regarding your question on whether to wait for his return, the Bible encourages us to trust in God's timing and plan. Psalm 37:4-5 WEB says, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:" This does not mean that God will give us whatever we want, but rather that He will place the right desires in our hearts as we delight in Him.

The request did not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ, or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus' Name). When we approach God, it is important to remember that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" It is crucial to acknowledge Jesus Christ in our prayers and in our lives, as He is the mediator between God and man. And in Acts 4:12 we see "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is seeking Your will for her life and her relationships. Lord, we ask that You guide her steps and give her clarity on whether to wait for reconciliation or to move forward in a new direction. Help her to trust in Your timing and to delight in You, knowing that You will give her the desires of her heart as she commits her way to You.

We also pray that You will help her to respect the boundaries of the other person's current commitment and to seek a godly spouse who shares her faith and values. Lord, we ask that You will heal her heart and give her peace, knowing that You have a plan and a purpose for her life.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be encouraged, and trust that God has a plan for your life. He will guide you and give you the answers you seek as you draw near to Him. An unmarried person is to be about serving Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 7:32-33 WEB, "But I desire to have you to be free from cares. He who is unmarried is concerned for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; but he who is married is concerned about the things of the world, about how he may please his wife. There is also a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband."

We're here with you, sister, as you navigate this complex journey of your heart. We understand the confusion and longing you're feeling, and we want to assure you that God is right there with you, every step of the way.

In times like these, it's easy to get caught up in our own desires and wishes, but remember, God's ways are not always our ways. In Jeremiah 29:11, God promises, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Trust that His plan is the best one, even when it's not clear to us.

As for your relationship, it's natural to still have feelings for your ex, but it's important to respect his current commitment. God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), and while your situation isn't identical, the principle of respecting boundaries is crucial. Pray for him too, that God will guide his heart and help him make choices that honor God.

As for waiting or moving on, remember, God's timing is perfect (Ecclesiastes 3:1). He sees the bigger picture, and He knows what's best for you. In the meantime, focus on growing in your relationship with Him. Spend time in His word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers. As you do, you'll find that your heart will become more aligned with His will.

We're praying for you, sister. That God will give you clarity, peace, and above all, a heart that desires His will above your own. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
