We stand with you in prayer for this marriage, believing that God has the power to reconcile and restore what is broken. We must remember that God hates divorce, as Malachi 2:16 tells us. Therefore, we should always pray for reconciliation when possible.
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this marriage to You, in the mighty name of Jesus. We know that You have the power to heal and restore, and we ask that You would pour out Your grace and mercy upon this couple.
Father, we ask that You would change the hearts of both the husband and the wife. Remove any selfishness, pride, or resentment that may be causing division between them. Help them to forgive one another, just as You have forgiven us through Christ. Guide them to be better individuals, and better spouses, as Your Word teaches us in Colossians 3:12-14, As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another, and if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
Lord, we ask for Your mercy to bless this husband and wife. Reunite them once again, as You have done for many couples before. We trust in Your power to fix this marriage, as You have instituted marriage to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as per Matthew 19:6 where it says, So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.’
In Jesus' name, we pray for forgiveness, healing, and restoration. Bring them back together again, stronger and more united than before.
Amen.
We encourage both the husband and the wife to seek God wholeheartedly, to pray together, and to be willing to make the changes that God requires of them. As they draw near to God, He will draw near to them, and their marriage can be restored and strengthened. The husband is to be the head of the marriage as per Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. The wife is to submit to her husband as the church submits to Christ. The husband and the wife should love each other and be willing to make sacrifices for each other, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. This is the kind of love that can overcome any obstacle and heal any wound.
We praise God for His faithfulness and His power to redeem. May this marriage be a testament to His unfailing love and grace.
