Reconciliation and restoration

Disciple of Prayer
Good day could you please pray for my marriage and God's intervention and to rebuke the devil's hand over my relationship and over my spouses minde and to restore what the devil's trying to destroy please stand with me as I feel like I'm fighting a loosing battle I believe and place my trust in God and the word but I'm struggling and feel like I'm failing

We hear the heaviness in your heart and we stand with you in this battle for your marriage, for we know that God Himself ordained marriage to be a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman and what God has joined together, let no man separate, as it says in Matthew 19:6 and Mark 10:9. We commend you for recognizing that this is not merely a struggle against flesh and blood but a spiritual battle, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, and he desires to deceive minds and divide what God has joined, for your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8.

We also notice that you placed your trust in God and in the Word, yet you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request, and we want to gently and lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved and our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. So we come before the throne of grace boldly in the name of Jesus Christ, our mediator and redeemer, believing that when we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us James 4:7.

We want to encourage you that feeling like you are failing and fighting a losing battle does not mean you are failing in God's eyes. When you feel overwhelmed, God says, Fear not, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. And when your heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I Psalm 61:2. Your willingness to keep standing on the Word even while struggling is precious to the Lord, and we know that God is able to restore what the enemy has tried to destroy, for He promises, I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten Joel 2:25.

We rebuke the hand of the enemy over your relationship and over your spouse's mind in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray that every deception, confusion, and stronghold that has been built up would be torn down, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5. We pray that your spouse's mind would be renewed and guarded by the peace of God, and that your marriage would be strengthened as a threefold cord that is not quickly broken Ecclesiastes 4:12.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one and this marriage to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the pain, the weariness, and the feeling of fighting a losing battle. We ask You to intervene with Your mighty hand and rebuke the work of the devil over this union. We command in Jesus' name that every scheme, lie, and influence of the enemy be broken and cast out. Lord, place a hedge of protection around this marriage, soften and renew the mind and heart of this spouse, remove any blindness or hardness, and draw you both closer to each other and to You. Restore love, trust, communication, forgiveness and unity where the enemy has tried to sow division and hurt. Help our dear friend to not grow weary in well doing, but to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7, and remind them that no temptation has taken them except what is common to man, but You are faithful and will provide the way out 1 Corinthians 10:13. Lord, teach them to love as You love, to be kind, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32, and to love their spouse as Christ loved the church Ephesians 5:25. We trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose Romans 8:28. We thank You that You hate divorce Malachi 2:16 and that You desire reconciliation and restoration. Strengthen their faith, let them feel Your presence, and let Your will be done in this marriage. In the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm on the Word, to pray without ceasing, to speak life over your marriage, and to fast and seek godly counsel from mature believers if possible. Continue to cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. Do not let the enemy convince you that you are failing, for when you are weak, then you are strong through Christ who strengthens you. Keep forgiving, keep loving, keep praying, and trust that God is fighting for you even when you cannot see the victory yet. We are standing with you and believing with you for God's complete restoration.

We are standing with you as you carry this burden for your marriage. Feeling like you are fighting a losing battle and even failing does not mean your faith has failed. It often means you have been carrying this alone for a long time and you are tired, and God sees that weariness.

We hear your desire for God to intervene and to protect your relationship and your spouse. That longing for restoration is good. Reconciliation, when God brings it about, is usually a slow rebuilding of trust and love that involves both people, and it grows best when each person is first being tended to by the Lord. You can be faithful with your part, staying rooted in prayer and in honest community, while trusting God with your spouse's heart and with the outcome.

It helps not to fight this battle in isolation. Would you consider asking one trusted pastor or mature believer of the same sex to meet or talk with you regularly, just to pray with you and walk beside you in the weeks ahead? Having one steady voice to encourage you can keep discouragement from taking over.

Father, we lift this marriage to You and ask for Your mercy and protection over both husband and wife. Give our friend strength for today, wisdom for each conversation, and peace as they trust You with what they cannot control. Lead them to helpful support and guard their home in Jesus' name. Amen.

Your cry for reconciliation and restoration has been heard, and we will stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace.

There is a sure token that mercy is about to be received, and it is this, that the Lord puts it into the heart to pray. The Scripture says, I am the Lord their God, and will hear them. When God teaches a soul to plead for restoration, it is because He means to answer it. You may pray with penitent David, Restore unto me the joy of your salvation, and pray it again and again, for he who has never prayed it has need to begin at once, and he who has prayed it may pray it still.

You speak of feeling as one fighting a losing battle and fearing that you are failing. Take heart, for true prayer is born in that very humility of spirit. Imitate the prayer of Jacob, who after he had done what he thought to be wise, betook himself to prayer. His prayer was highly argumentative, pleading with the Most High, spreading his case before Him and pressing his suit with all the arguments he could muster. You may do the same. Plead the Word itself and say with David, Remember the Word unto Your servant. This is no attempt to change the will of God, but a reminding of your heavenly Father of His promises, for prayer is the shadow of a coming blessing. Tell Him that He is the God of peace who has on His part prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation through Jesus Christ.

You ask that the hand of the evil one would be rebuked over your relationship and over the mind of your spouse. This is a needful prayer, for our Lord taught us to pray, Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One. A man never gets anything out of the devil, even if he conquers him, and we are kept only as the Lord keeps us. Remember how Peter fell when he felt too strong in himself to be driven to special prayer, and his boat unprepared was driven upon a rock. Yet the story is rather Peter's restoration than Peter's fall. That look of Christ severed Peter from the crowd and brought him back with weeping, and afterward the Lord gave him abundant assurance of restoration. So we pray that the Lord will look upon your spouse and upon your home with that same restoring glance, and bring back the wanderer.

Do not restrain prayer before God. Intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for the prayer of Christ Himself is of this character, and there is not a single grain of incense in His censer that is for Himself. It is also exceedingly prevalent. It has stayed plagues and turned captivity, as it is written, The Lord turned again the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. Prayer is a wondrous blender of hearts and it will fit us to be God's instruments. Therefore we will not desert you, but will say with David, Yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities, persevering in importunity till the answer comes.

Know this, that Jacob's prayer was answered, but it was not answered in the way he expected it would be. God may answer beyond your expectation and in His own way, yet He will answer for His glory and your good. There is no road to heaven except by Weeping Cross, but that road leads to perfect restoration.

Let us pray together. O Lord God, have mercy upon this marriage according to Your steadfast love. Remember Your Word unto Your servant. You have promised to hear those who call upon You, and You are the God who reconciles us to Yourself by Jesus Christ, not imputing trespasses unto us. We plead Your covenant mercy. Rebuke the adversary and deliver this household from the Evil One. Quicken both husband and wife in Your way, soften the heart that is hardened, guard the mind that is assailed, and restore what the destroyer has sought to devour. Turn again their captivity and make them to hear joy and gladness, that the bones which You have broken may rejoice. Keep them from evil, unite them in Your peace, and let them know the joy of reconciliation wrought at once by the power of the Holy Spirit. For Jesus Christ's sake, Amen.

We will continue to bear you up before the Lord, asking that He will keep you hopeful in the work of prayer and give you power to persevere.
