We join with you in prayer for the reconciliation and restoration of this marriage. It is clear that your heart's desire is for unity and love to be restored between this husband and wife. We appreciate that the request is made in Jesus' name, the only name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 says "There is salvation in none other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!"
Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man, a woman and their God, ordained by God Himself. "For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother, and will be joined to his wife. And they will be one flesh." Genesis 2:24 and Matthew 19:5-6 reinforces this, " 'For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.' So that they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, do not let man tear apart."
We pray that God will heal any past hurts and offenses, and that both husband and wife would be willing to forgive and seek forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32 urges us to "be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
We pray for a renewed sense of respect and love between them, as commanded in Ephesians 5:33, "Nevertheless, each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
We pray for mercy and grace to be poured out upon them, as stated in Hebrews 4:16 "Let's therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need." Praise God you recognize, oh Lord, and we are asking this.
We stand with you in faith, believing that God can restore and reunite this marriage. We pray that both husband and wife would be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit and willing to put in the effort required for reconciliation.
Let us pray together.
Father God, we come before You today, lifting up this marriage to You. We ask that You would pour out Your healing power into their lives, mending any brokenness and restoring their love for one another. Help them to forgive and seek forgiveness, to respect and cherish one another, and to be united in Your love. We ask for Your mercy and grace to be upon them, guiding them through this process of reconciliation. We thank you for making them one flesh that cannot be broken by men.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged, and continue to stand in faith for this marriage. Trust that God is at work, even in the toughest of situations. "For with God nothing is impossible." Luke 1:37. Remember that Jesus said in Matthew 19:5-6 that man should not break apart what God has joined together. Know that both of you are Christian Believers married to other Christian Believers.
