Recertification

I still haven't heard back from my apartment recertification yet. I went into the office today and no work yet. It's really causing my anxiety to rise. Please pray me and my son still get to reside in our apartment and won't lose our home. Please pray that God already went ahead and prepared the hearts and minds of those in charge and gave us approval and favor and grace and mercy and the outcome is favorable. Please pray we don't lose our home. Please pray we will still be in our apartment for the holidays.

We have heard your burden and we are joining together with you in prayer for you and your son and for your home. We understand how heavy the waiting feels when so much is at stake, and how anxiety rises when answers are delayed. We lift this recertification and every person in charge of it before the Lord with you.

We want to encourage you with what Scripture says about anxiety and God's care for you. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. God sees you and your son, He knows your need for shelter and stability, and He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as Psalm 46:1 says. Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:31-33 not to be anxious about what we will eat or what we will wear or where we will live, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things, but seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

We also gently want to share something important we noticed in your request. You asked for prayer to God for favor and mercy, which is good, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to come to God in His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence.

We also take comfort that God can move the hearts of those in authority. Proverbs 21:1 says the king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires. We trust He is able to prepare the hearts and minds of those handling your paperwork.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear parent and her son to You. Lord, You know the anxiety that has risen while waiting for this recertification, You know the need for this apartment and the desire to remain there through the holidays and beyond. We ask for Your peace to guard her heart and mind and to calm her fears, for Isaiah 41:10 says do not be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Father, we ask for Your favor and grace and mercy upon this process. Go ahead of her and prepare the hearts of those in charge, move them to act diligently and with compassion, and grant a favorable outcome according to Your will. Let no detail be overlooked and let the approval come quickly so she and her son will not lose their home. Provide for all their needs and let them continue to dwell in safety, giving thanks to You. We ask that You draw her and her son closer to You through this trial and let Your perfect love cast out fear, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to be diligent in following up with the office, keeping copies of all documents and communication, while resting in the Lord's provision day by day. Keep praying with thanksgiving, even while you wait, and trust that God who cares for you will not forsake you. We are standing with you for God's will, for His peace over your home, and for His favorable answer.

We can hear how much weight you are carrying right now. Checking in at the office and leaving without an answer is hard, and when it is your home and your son's home on the line, the anxiety can rise quickly. Of course you want to know you will still be there for the holidays.

We are standing with you in prayer for steadiness in this waiting and for kindness and clear attention from the people reviewing your paperwork. We are asking God to provide for you and your son and to give you wisdom for each next step while you wait.

It may help to keep a simple record as you wait. Note the date and time you went in and who you spoke with, keep copies of anything you submitted, and if you can, ask the office for a written note of the expected timeline and what to do if you do not hear back by a certain date. Having that in hand can make follow up easier and give you a little more peace of mind.

Father, we bring this mother and her son before You. You see their need for home and security. Calm her heart in this uncertain time, guide the hands of those responsible for the decision, and provide what is best for this family. Lead them day by day and let them know Your nearness. Your trial and the care for your son have been spread before the Lord, and we have entreated Him on your behalf.

We understand how the waiting tries the heart. When no word comes from the office and the days pass, anxiety rises and unfits the soul to meet the difficulty. Yet we are charged to play the man and let faith overcome fear, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. To keep that care confined within your own breast will bring no good, but to take your case and spread it before God is the wisdom and the comfort of His people.

Hear the word which the Lord speaks so often to His own, Fear not, for I will help you. Fear not, you worm Jacob. Fear not, for I am with you. It is not merely a preacher who says Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers it to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet. To give way to fear when He has promised His help is to dishonor Him whose arm piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth. Fear is weakening, but faith laughs at that which fear weeps over and finds certainty beneath the wings of God.

We have prayed that the eternal God who is your refuge would go before you and prepare the hearts and minds of those in whose hands this recertification rests, that He would show you favor and grace and mercy. We have asked that if it be His gracious will, you and your son may still dwell in your apartment in safety and keep your home through the coming holidays. At home a man takes his rest, and the Lord knows your need of that quiet habitation. He is a God who makes provision before the need arises, and who comes flying as it were upon the wings of the wind to display His favor toward the objects of His choice.

Therefore have done with anxiety and doubt as you are able by His grace. Commit the outcome to Him who does all things well, trusting that whether by keeping this dwelling or by providing another, He will not forsake those who trust in Christ alone for salvation. May He quiet your spirit, guard your son, and let you see His hand in this matter, and may you be enabled to say, Though I walk through the valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.

We will continue to pray that the Lord will grant you a favorable answer, peace in the waiting, and a settled home where you may rest and praise Him.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind.
