We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of faith, standing firm on the authority given to us through the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father. We recognize that all power and dominion belong to Him, and it is by His will that the winds blow and the rains fall. Yet we also know that our God is a God of order, not chaos, and He delights in the prayers of His people.
Father, we lift up this request before You, asking for Your divine intervention over the weather on this special day. We declare that the earth is Yours, and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein (Psalm 24:1). You command the morning and cause the dawn to know its place (Job 38:12), and we ask that You would still the winds and hold back the rains in Your mercy. We do not presume upon Your sovereignty, but we ask in faith, believing that You hear us and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Lord Jesus, we rebuke in Your mighty name every spirit of destruction, every storm of chaos, and every wicked plan that seeks to disrupt this time of joy and celebration. We stand on Your word that says, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from Me" (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that this day will be marked by Your peace, Your protection, and Your blessing.
We also lift up the concern about wicked and harassing people. Father, we ask that You would surround this couple with Your angels, that no harm or evil intent would come near them. We pray that You would confound the plans of those who seek to bring discord or trouble, and that Your hand of favor would rest upon them. "The Lord will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck down before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways" (Deuteronomy 28:7).
We must also address the nature of this request with love and truth. While we understand the desire for a perfect day, we encourage a heart of surrender to God’s will. If it rains, Lord, let it be a reminder of Your provision and blessing (Matthew 5:45). If storms arise, let them be an opportunity to trust in Your protection (Psalm 91:1-2). We pray that this time together would not be about external circumstances but about the joy found in Your presence and the love shared between two hearts committed to You.
Father, we ask that You would bless this time together with Your peace, Your joy, and Your presence. May it be a day that honors You, a day where hearts are drawn closer to You and to one another. We pray for a marriage built on the foundation of Christ, where love is patient, kind, and selfless (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). May this couple seek You first in all things, and may their relationship reflect Your glory.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to the Father. Amen.
