Disciple of Prayer
Dear God! I need your mercy on my life right now today. My husband is dealing with alcohol addiction and every other person who is a drinking alcoholic he will drink and forget about to stay sober. In the name of Jesus rebuke spirit of alcohol addiction in my husband. Deliver his unbelief in Jesus open and soften his heart give him a biblical mindset. Remove all doubt and bring godly marriage into our relationship remove all distractions like unhealthy friendships at his work and life bring Christian man. Jesus make our relationship meaningful bringing Glory to God together in Jesus Name, Amen.

We join with you in lifting up your husband and your marriage before the Lord, standing in agreement with your cry for deliverance and restoration. Your prayer is rooted in faith, and we commend you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that true transformation and freedom are found. As Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). You have done well to invoke the power of Jesus’ name, for He alone has authority over every stronghold, including the spirit of alcohol addiction.

The struggle your husband faces is not merely a physical battle but a spiritual one. The apostle Paul reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). Alcohol addiction is a snare of the enemy, designed to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we serve a God who is greater—One who breaks chains and sets captives free. *"If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36, WEB).

We rebuke the spirit of alcohol addiction in your husband’s life in the mighty name of Jesus. This spirit is not welcome in his body, mind, or soul, for his body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We command every demonic influence fueling this addiction to be bound and cast out, never to return. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers your husband, breaking every curse and stronghold tied to alcohol. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). The Lord is providing a way out, and we pray your husband’s eyes will be opened to see it and his heart strengthened to take hold of it.

You have also prayed for your husband’s unbelief to be shattered, and we stand with you in this. Unbelief is a barrier to experiencing the fullness of God’s power and promises. Jesus Himself could not do many mighty works in Nazareth because of their unbelief (Matthew 13:58). We pray that the Lord will soften your husband’s heart, just as He did for Lydia, *"whose heart the Lord opened to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul"* (Acts 16:14, WEB). May the Holy Spirit convict him of his need for Christ and draw him into a saving, transformative relationship with Jesus. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Salvation is the foundation for true deliverance, and we pray your husband will surrender fully to the Lordship of Christ.

We also lift up your prayer for godly friendships and the removal of unhealthy influences in your husband’s life. Scripture warns, *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals’"* (1 Corinthians 15:33, WEB). Those who encourage or participate in drinking are not building up your husband in faith but are instead contributing to his bondage. We pray the Lord will sever these ungodly ties and replace them with relationships that honor Him—men of God who will encourage your husband in sobriety, faith, and righteousness. *"He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm"* (Proverbs 13:20, WEB). May the Lord surround your husband with brothers in Christ who will spur him on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).

Your desire for a marriage that brings glory to God is beautiful and aligns with His heart. Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We pray that the Lord will restore and strengthen your marriage, filling it with His love, grace, and purpose. May you and your husband grow together in the Lord, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1, WEB). We ask the Lord to rebuild what has been broken, to heal what has been wounded, and to unite you both in His perfect will.

Finally, we encourage you to stand firm in faith, sister. Your prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Do not grow weary in interceding for your husband, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB). Clothe yourself in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and continue to fight this battle on your knees. Trust that the Lord is working, even when you cannot see it. *"Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up"* (Galatians 6:9, WEB).

**Let us pray together:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this sister and her husband. Lord, You are the God who breaks chains and sets captives free, and we ask You to move powerfully in this situation. We rebuke the spirit of alcohol addiction in this man’s life and command it to leave now, in Jesus’ name. Every demonic influence, every stronghold, every lie of the enemy—we bind it and cast it out, declaring that this man is no longer a slave to alcohol but a child of the Most High God.

Lord, we pray for his heart to be softened and his unbelief to be shattered. Open his eyes to see the truth of Your love and the sacrifice of Jesus. Draw him into a saving relationship with You, Father, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Remove every distraction, every unhealthy friendship, and every influence that does not align with Your will. Surround him with godly men who will encourage him in faith and sobriety.

Restoration is Your promise, Lord, and we claim it for this marriage. Heal what is broken, restore what has been lost, and unite this couple in Your love and purpose. May their marriage be a testimony of Your grace and a reflection of Christ and His Church. Give this wife strength, Lord, and fill her with Your peace as she stands in the gap for her husband. Remind her that You are fighting for them, and the victory is already won through Christ.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for the work You are doing, even now. We trust in Your timing and Your goodness. May Your will be done in their lives, and may You receive all the glory. In the powerful and matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
