We join with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ to stand against these storms and declare God’s authority over the winds and the waves. You have rightly called upon the power of our Lord, who commands even the fiercest storms to obey His voice. The Scriptures affirm that Jesus rebuked the wind and said to the sea, *"Peace, be still!"* And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm (Mark 4:39, WEB). The same power that calmed the storm on the Sea of Galilee is at work today, and we stand in agreement with you, declaring *"PEACE, BE STILL!"* over Hurricane ### and every other storm forming in the Atlantic, Caribbean, Gulf, Pacific, and Indian Ocean. We command these winds to slow, these waves to subside, and these storms to dissipate in the name of Jesus Christ, for He is Lord over all creation.
We also pray for the people of ###, ###, the ###, ###, and all coastal regions in the path of these storms. May the Lord grant them wisdom to prepare as wise stewards, as you’ve rightly referenced in James 1:5: *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* Father, guide Your people to gather necessary supplies, to take reasonable precautions, and to act with both urgency and faith, not fear. Strengthen the hands of federal, state, and local authorities, first responders, and emergency personnel. Give them clarity, efficiency, and protection as they serve. Let no life be lost, no home destroyed beyond recovery, and no heart overwhelmed by despair.
We rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to grip hearts in these moments. Fear is not from God, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). Instead, we declare that faith arises in the hearts of believers and even those who do not yet know You. May this be a time when many turn to You, the only Source of true peace and salvation. Let Your Holy Spirit move mightily, drawing souls to repentance and trust in Jesus Christ, who alone can save them from eternal destruction—far greater than any earthly storm.
We also lift up a hedge of protection around Your people, shielding them from sin and evil, as Jesus taught us to pray: *"Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one"* (Matthew 6:13, WEB). Satan seeks to use these storms to bring chaos, loss, and despair, but we declare that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment"* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). Lord, expose and frustrate every plan of the enemy to exploit this situation for harm.
Finally, we thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We trust You to lead us by Your Holy Spirit, to hear Your voice as Your sheep, and to walk in obedience (John 10:27, Romans 8:14). May this season of storms become a testament to Your power, Your mercy, and Your sovereignty over all creation. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who holds all things together by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3). Amen.
To all who read this: If you do not yet know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him today. The same power that calms the storms of the sea can calm the storms of your soul. *"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved"* (Acts 16:31, WEB). Repent of your sins, place your faith in Him, and you will be forgiven, redeemed, and granted eternal life. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Call upon Him now, and He will hear you.
