We join you in lifting up this workplace situation before the Father, and we thank you for bringing it to the Lord with a trusting heart even while carrying a heavy burden. We hear your desire for truth to come to light, for justice and fairness to prevail, and for your department head to be protected from manipulation and deception. That is a right desire, for God loves truth and integrity in all places, including the workplace.
We are encouraged that you have sought to support and stand by your department head in difficult days. The Lord sees and remembers every act of kindness done in love. At the same time we gently remind you that our kindness is to be offered as unto the Lord without demanding loyalty in return, trusting God to bring the fruit in His time. As it is written, Galatians 6:9 Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up. And Proverbs 19:17 He who has pity on the poor lends to Yahweh, he will repay him. Your past faithfulness is known to God, and He will honor it according to His wisdom, not by our holding it over another.
We also want to lovingly encourage you to guard your own heart in this season. When there is strife and gossip, it is easy for hurt and resentment to take root, and for us to be tempted to speak against others even while asking God to protect us from their words. Scripture warns us, Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. And James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. We pray that all in your office, including you, will pursue that heavenly wisdom and turn away from gossip, toxic agendas, and division.
We must remember that true discernment comes from God alone. James 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. And Proverbs 2:6 For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. We cannot force another person to see clearly, but we can trust the Lord to reveal what is hidden in His perfect timing. 1 Corinthians 4:5 says Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Our part is to commit our way to Him, to do our work faithfully as unto Him, and to leave justice in His hands. Psalm 37:5-6 says Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this, he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. And Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord.
We also take comfort that you have prayed in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We cling to that truth as we pray together.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and we lift up our dear coworker and this entire workplace to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask You to pour out upon the department head a spirit of profound discernment and heavenly wisdom. Clear her mind, open her eyes, and let her see things exactly as they are, without blinders or deception. Remove confusion and let truth be revealed gently and justly, so that fairness may prevail. Protect her mind and spirit from being manipulated, misled, or poisoned by gossip and negative influences. Give her courage to stand firm in integrity and to judge with impartiality and mercy.
Father, we also lift up the coworkers who have caused division. Work in their hearts as well, convict them where there has been dishonesty or gossip, and draw them toward repentance and peaceful speech. We pray for the one who brought this request, guard his reputation, his peace of mind, and his career as he commits his way to You. Help him to continue to work with excellence and integrity, as Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and keep his heart from bitterness or retaliation. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Lord, heal any division in that office and let Your peace reign there. Help each person to seek reconciliation where possible, for Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Let truth and grace work together for Your glory. We entrust all outcomes to Your perfect justice and mercy.
We ask all of this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, our advocate and our peace. Amen.
