Songs of songs: .....:verse 1:5 solomon Racist comment or not, I think its racist of Jehovah to allow such a comment in the Bible it impllies, that Dark people arent beautiful i think she has to justify her Dark shade in life, I think its dispicable of the Jesus to allow such a coomet...

"even though I am Dark im still beautiful" and so forth.

why does she have to justify her shade hmmmmm

and isnt it how people think today the darker you the less attractive you are, this disgusts me

Father I pray that satan be removed from this and that you are restored in the heart of luiza. Father give her the strength to read your word to get a better understanding and guidance. Show her that we will perish for a lack of knowledge. Show her that you love us all Father. In the name of Jesus. Amen

I am black ... - Dark-hued, as the tents of Kedar with their black goats' hair coverings, rough and weather-stained, "but comely (beautiful) as the rich hangings which adorn the pavilion of Solomon. Kedar was the name of an Arab tribe Genesis 25:13; Psalm 120:5. The word itself signifies "dark" or "black." Possibly "tents of Kedar" stand here poetically for shepherds' tents in general Isaiah 60:7.

I am black, but comely - This is literally true of many of the Asiatic women; though black or brown, they are exquisitely beautiful. Many of the Egyptian women are still fine; but their complexion is much inferior to that of the Palestine females. Though black or swarthy in my complexion, yet am I comely - well proportioned in every part.

As the tents of Kedar - I am tawny, like the tents of the Arabians, and like the pavilions of Solomon, probably covered by a kind of tanned cloth. The daughters of Jerusalem are said to represent the synagogue; the bride, the Church of Christ. It is easy to find spiritual meanings: every creed will furnish them.

Your points are well taken. We all have the same blood inside-we all come from the same place.

The Lord does not judge any person on their physical appearance, but on the integrity of their heart.

"The King's daughters were among thy honorable women..." Psalm 46:9

"The King's daughter is all glorious within.." Psalm 46:13

God is not a man that he should lie, or judge a person based on skin color, income, or education. The world judges based on these things, not your loving Father in heaven who created you in his image.

You are dearly loved and cherished by Jesus; so much so, that he chose to be tortured and crucified for you.

My prayer for you is that you will open your heart to Jesus and allow him to love you as no one else has or ever could.

Luiza - from the posts you have been making it is clear that you are young and immature in your faith. Until you believe that God is a sovereign and loving being, and that the Son and the Holy Spirit complete the perfect trinity I don't know how your faith can have a firm foundation. Your last post about the Holy Spirit being a liar still troubles me deeply, and I believe in God's eyes would be considered blasphemy. My sincere prayers for you are that your eyes would be opened to what is going on. You are being misled and misguided by the attempts of satan to stir dissention and cause doubt. I pray that your heart, mind and spirit might be filled with God's truth and strength to withstand these attacks. The comment in the Song of Solomon is simply a person's interpretation or statement about themselves. If you read on, the passage talks about beauty, both physical and spiritual. I don't mean to sound harsh, but do not fall into the trap so many do of taking bits and pieces of the bible and twisting them out of context. Just like any book, you can only understand their full meaning and intent when taken as a whole as the author intended. I pray for your steadfastness to read and understand God's holy word, its truth and goodness.

Luiza my dear clearly you must be feeling some self hatred and are dealing with racial identity issues as well for you to take offense to that verse. The chapter you are reading is from Songs of Solomon which would tell you these are the ideas and feelings of a person from thousands of years ago not only is the bible the word of GOD but is also serves as a history book furthermore Jesus is a descendant of King David whom is descended from a royal family of dark complexion and Im positive that GOD feels they were beautiful...I lOVE My complexion and I am So proud of My Heritage GOD made the perfect decision when he made me I hope you feel the same

God Bless

i DONT THINK THAT IS WHAT IS IMPLIED HERE. hER DARK SKIN IS SEEN AS BEAUTIFUL IN APPEARANCE AND THE LOVE THAT THEY ARE SHARING. GOD is not racist by any means. HE is the CREATOR of all humanity. JESUS was a dark skined man when HE was on this earth. Too many people take what the bible says to exstremes and dosent understand the meaning of what is being said. GOS and JESUS are ONE, and color is not what HE looks at, it is the heart, which is deceiving and wicked above all things. GOD loves you just as you are.

God bless you. Verse 1:5 does not give you the complete story. you can't just read one verse you must look at the whole picture. It sounds a little cinderella. Here she feals neglected, even rejected. She speaks of her stepbrothers anger towards her and commanding her to work in their vineyard, out in the sun. (perhaps day after day and in the heat of the sun).Soloman overhears her cry for his love & attention in verse 2 & began to assure her with love. She explain the condition she is in. she told soloman not to look at her (low-self-esteem) I am swarthy (dark complexion but staying in the sun and neglecting herself even made her more darker. she has not even kept up her own vineyard. Verse 7 she is asking him for a place even to rest at noon, after speaking of her love for him. yet, she calls herself veiled one straying. verse 8 soloman said if you do not know, "o you fairest among women" verse 10 he says to her, "Your cheeks are comely with ornaments, your neck with strings of jewels. verse 11 we will make for you chains and ornaments of gold, studded with silver. she then speaks to soloman in those verses 12,-17. chp 2 she now calls herself a little rose (humble)or a lilly in the valley (grows in difficult times) verse 2 soloman says "like the lily of the valley among thorns,so are you my love among the daughters

verse 4 of chp 2..He brought me to the banqueting house, his banner over me is love. Soloman had an unique relationship with his love (wife). Love story. He has not express such love among his wives as this one. Yes God allows this. In this when we are in sin and live outside of His majesty, we are in darkness untill He brings us in His banqueting hall and His banner over us is love. We must look at this in the spirit of Jesus and not in the flesh. God bless you, and I love you in Christ.
