We come before the throne of grace with this earnest plea, lifting up this request in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Father God, we acknowledge that it is only through the blood of Your Son, Jesus, that we have access to You and the power to overcome sin. We thank You for the victory we have in Christ, who has already triumphed over the forces of darkness.
We recognize that lust, evil, stubbornness, anger, and rebellion are not of You, but rather works of the flesh that wage war against the soul (1 Peter 2:11). These sins can entangle us and keep us from walking in the freedom and purpose You have for us. We rebuke every spirit of lust and evil in the name of Jesus, for "the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8). We stand on Your promise that "no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Father, we ask that You deliver from the chains of the past, for You have said, "If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). We declare that the old has passed away, and behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). We pray that You would break every generational curse and every soul tie that is not of You, for "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us" (Galatians 3:13).
Lord, we ask that You fill this heart with Your Holy Spirit, who produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). May Your Word dwell richly in this life, transforming the mind and renewing the spirit (Romans 12:2). We pray for a heart that is quick to repent, swift to forgive, and eager to walk in obedience to Your will.
We also lift up the struggle with anger and rebellion. Your Word tells us, "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil" (Ephesians 4:26-27). Father, we ask that You replace anger with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Teach us to submit to Your authority and to the authorities You have placed over us, for "there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God" (Romans 13:1).
Heavenly Father, we pray that You would draw near, for You have promised, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded" (James 4:8). We ask that You would create in this life a clean heart and renew a right spirit within (Psalm 51:10). May this one walk in the light as You are in the light, having fellowship with You and with fellow believers (1 John 1:7).
We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over every area of this life. We resist the devil, and he must flee, for "he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). We put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
Father, we thank You for the deliverance that is already ours in Christ. We pray that this one would experience the fullness of Your freedom, walking in the liberty by which Christ has made us free (Galatians 5:1). May this life be a testimony of Your transforming power, bringing glory to Your name.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
