We join with you in declaring the truth of God’s Word, for it is written, *"All things are possible to him who believes"* (Mark 9:23). Like the father in this passage, we too cry out, *"I believe! Help my unbelief!"*—for faith is not a work of our own strength but a gift from the Lord, who measures it to us according to His perfect will (Romans 12:3). How beautiful it is that even in our weakness, His power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). You have rightly acknowledged that our eyes must remain fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, lest we grow weary and lose heart (Hebrews 12:1-3). The race set before us is not one of aimless striving but of purposeful surrender to the One who has already ordained our steps (Psalm 37:23).
Let us exhort one another with this truth: our purpose is not a mystery to be deciphered by human wisdom but a calling to be received by divine revelation. The Lord has not left us in darkness but has given us His Spirit to guide us into all truth (John 16:13). If we lack wisdom, we are commanded to ask of God, who gives generously without reproach (James 1:5). Yet we must ask in faith, without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind (James 1:6). So let us lay hold of the faith we have been given, not in our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. It is He who equips us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17) and who works in us both to will and to do for His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).
We must also remember that our purpose is not separate from our relationship with Christ but flows from it. Jesus said, *"Apart from me, you can do nothing"* (John 15:5). Our lives are hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3), and it is in abiding in Him that we bear fruit that lasts. Let us examine our hearts: Are we seeking our own ambitions, or are we surrendering to the Lord’s will? Are we trusting in our own understanding, or are we leaning wholly on Him (Proverbs 3:5-6)? For it is not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit that His purposes are accomplished (Zechariah 4:6).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You alone are the source of our faith, our purpose, and our hope. Lord, we thank You that You understand us perfectly—our struggles, our doubts, and our desires. You know the plans You have for us, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Father, we ask that You increase our faith, not so that we may boast in our own strength, but so that we may boast in You alone. Help us to walk in the Spirit, to lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us, and to run with endurance the race You have set before us.
Lord, reveal to us any area where we have relied on our own understanding or sought our own way. Forgive us for the times we have doubted Your goodness or Your timing. We repent of any self-reliance and ask that You fill us anew with Your Spirit, that we may walk in step with You. Grant us the courage to surrender our plans, our dreams, and our fears into Your hands, trusting that You will accomplish Your purpose for us (Psalm 57:2).
We declare that our lives are not our own, for we have been bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). Use us, Lord, for Your glory. Open our eyes to see the work You are doing around us and give us the faith to step into it. Let us not be distracted by the cares of this world but keep our gaze fixed on You, the perfecter of our faith.
Father, we thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). May we meditate on it day and night, that we may be like trees planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in its season (Psalm 1:2-3). Strengthen us in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith, and that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend the breadth and length and height and depth of Your love for us (Ephesians 3:16-19).
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Finally, let us encourage one another with this: The Lord is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24). Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Our purpose is found in Him, and as we seek Him first, all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). Walk in faith, dear brothers and sisters, for the One who called you is faithful, and He will sustain you to the end (1 Corinthians 1:8-9).
