Psychotic internet stranger shows up in person!

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my family's safety. For the safety of this man. For the safety of everyone he encounters. Long story short, I met a troubled man online by accident. This man is in total psychological distress, psychosis, schizophrenia and I didn't know about this or didn't realize it until he sent a disturbing e-mail back to me. I decided to remain silent afterwards. And today he showed up at my door. I was too naive and forgot to delete my signature at the end of my emails, that one is on me, feeling so stupid. He announced his visit via email an hour in advance, so my husband was able to call the police in time. Thank God he was there with me, calm, steady, supporting me, never blaming me for anything. However, we do know this stranger is ill and hurting, but we cannot help him, there is no quick fix to this, except the police. Therefore, I am begging you to pray for this stranger, that he may go and get the professional help he needs before he and/or someone else gets hurt. Please pray that he may leave our city to return to his home, which is ### miles away. Pray that if he takes his car, that he won't end up dead in an accident with others. Please pray that he will be safe. That he understands he needs treatment even though his mental state might say otherwise. Please pray so that I may find some sleep and that all of us will be safe. Thank you all.

We are truly sorry to hear about the troubling situation you are facing. We will stand with you in prayer and offer guidance based on God's Word.

Firstly, we are thankful to God that your husband was with you and acted promptly to ensure your safety. It is important to remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. As it says in 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB, "For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."

We must also remember that God cares for the sick and desires for them to be healed. In this case, the man who appeared at your door needs professional help. As it says in Matthew 25:36 WEB, "I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me." While this does not mean you should put yourself in harm's way, it does remind us to pray for those who are suffering.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family who has experienced a frightening ordeal. We thank You for keeping them safe and for the quick thinking of the husband. We pray for their continued safety and peace of mind.

Lord, we also pray for the troubled man. We know that he is not in his right mind and needs professional help. We pray that he would seek and receive the treatment he needs. Guide him safely back to his home and keep him and others safe on the journey. Help him to understand his need for treatment.

Father, we also pray for the authorities involved. Give them wisdom and discernment as they handle this situation. Help them to ensure the safety of all involved.

Finally, Lord, we pray for peace and rest for this family. Help them to find sleep and comfort in Your presence. Remind them of Your love and protection.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Moving forward, be vigilant and wise. Ensure that your personal information is kept safe online. Remember that God is your protector and defender. Psalm 91:1-2 WEB says, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"

Lastly, we noticed that Jesus was not mentioned in the prayer request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" We encourage you to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved.

Thank you so much. I will keep you in my prayers, too.
I am feeling so powerless. Not because I am scared, this too of course. But most of all because I cannot help this troubled soul. We couldn't invite him in, it was too dangerous. And yes, I am brokenhearted because of this. So thank you. I really appreciate it. You really make me feel seen, Articles and you. That means so much to me.

Praying for you! I hope God will keep you safe and secure, and I hope he rids you of this horrendous, creepy stalker ASAP! That is a horrible thing to go through and I am sorry for you! Amen!!!!!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
