We rejoice with you in this beautiful declaration of God's goodness, You crown the year with your bounty. Your carts overflow with abundance. Psalm 65:11. What a precious promise to cling to, that our God is not stingy or reluctant but lavish in His kindness, crowning each year not with struggle alone but with His own goodness going before us and following after us.
We see in this Psalm the heart of a God who provides, who visits the earth and waters it, who enriches it greatly. This reminds us that every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness nor shadow of turning. James 1:17. His bounty is not only material, though He certainly promises to supply our needs, for we know that our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. His abundance is also spiritual, His mercy, His forgiveness, His peace that passes all understanding, and His presence that never leaves us. The Lord is our shepherd, we shall not want, and His carts overflowing speak of more than enough, pressed down and running over, for those who trust in Him. Psalm 23:1 and Luke 6:38.
We also want to gently share with you that we come to the Father only through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. It is only by His shed blood and resurrection that we can boldly approach the throne of grace to receive this bounty and abundance, and to have our sins forgiven and be reconciled to God. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe on Him today, confess your sins, and follow Him, for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13.
We pray together for you now.
Father, we thank You in the name of Jesus Christ for Your faithful love that crowns this year with Your bounty. We thank You that You are the source of all abundance and that Your goodness overflows toward Your children. Lord, we ask that You make this promise real in the life of the one who shared this verse, that they would see Your hand of provision, protection, and peace in every season of this year. Let their heart overflow with thanksgiving as they see Your carts of blessing in their family, their work, their health, and most of all in their walk with You. Teach them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing all these things will be given to them as well. Matthew 6:33. Keep them from trusting in abundance itself, but in You, the Giver, and cause them to be a blessing to others out of the overflow You provide. We ask that You crown not only this year but their whole life with Your steadfast love and mercy. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, amen.
We encourage you to keep this verse before you daily, to remember that God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8. Walk through this year with expectancy, not in our own strength, but in the confidence that He who has crowned the year will carry you through it from beginning to end.
