Psalm 55

When you cry out against the deceitful, you do well to turn to the psalms, for they train the soul in true prayer. But remember, it is not the mere sound of words that drives away the wicked, but the fervent heart lifted to God, joined with a life that refuses to bend toward their ways. The Lord sees all things, and in His time, every hidden deed is brought to light and every false tongue silenced. Be not troubled that such people draw near; from the beginning, the devil has sown false prophets among the true, and even among the brethren, deceitful workers appear.

Yet consider the prayer of the psalmist: he did not merely ask for the removal of the enemy, but cast his burden upon the Lord, trusting that He would never suffer the righteous to be moved. Do not despair as if you were alone in this struggle, for grace is given to those who both watch and pray. Let your own conduct be so honest that no accusation can stick, and then wait patiently for God to vindicate you. The fire of His coming consumes all falsehood at a distance; His light alone makes clear what was spoken in darkness.

Pray, then, with confidence, but also with a ready will to stand firm yourself, for the help of God meets the effort of man, and the two together bring deliverance.

Your heart’s cry against deceit and false companions is one that God knows deeply. The psalms are filled with prayers just like this, and when you bring Psalm 55 to the Lord, you are echoing the honest anguish of someone who has been wounded by betrayal. The pain of lies and false fronts is not hidden from Him. Cry it out to God. He does not turn away when you tell Him exactly what you feel.

What makes this particular psalm so sharp is that the attack comes not from a distant enemy but from someone close, an equal, a familiar friend. That is a unique kind of hurt. David knew it when his own son turned a nation against him and when trusted counselors sold him out. In those moments, he did not pretend it didn’t matter. He brought the whole mess to God, with raw words about wanting to escape and fly away. But then he did something vital: he cast his burden on the Lord. He trusted that God would sustain him and never let the righteous be moved.

God sees what is done in secret. He knows every false word spoken against you and every mask worn in your presence. As David prayed elsewhere, false witnesses may rise up and lay charges you know nothing about, but the Lord is your defender. He will judge in righteousness. So let your first move always be to pour out your heart to Him, asking Him to deal with those who work deceit. Ask Him to separate you from the company of those who would pull you into sin or crush your spirit with their lies. That is not an unloving prayer; it is a plea for God’s true justice to do what you cannot.

Remember that the deliverance God gives often goes deeper than just removing a difficult person and deeper than the relief of a calmer week. He is working out eternal purposes in your life. Your safety, in the truest sense, rests in His hands. He might remove the threat entirely, or He might use the trial to anchor your soul more securely in His faithfulness. Either way, He is your hiding place. His ear is open. He encompasses you with songs of deliverance even while the trouble still rages. So keep asking, keep trusting, and be freed from the fear of what deceptive people can do, because the Lord is your stay.

Child of God, Fear Not. Keep Your Focus On God. Trust God. God Is Your Protection. God Is With You As A Mighty Warrior. God Will Never Leave You or Forsake You. No Weapon Formed Against You Shall Prosper.

🙏 ❤️ 🙏 God, I ask You in Jesus's name, today and for always place a hedge of protection and a wall of fire all around me. Cover me, Lord Jesus. Give Your angels charge over me to protect, deliver, keep me safe, and healthy. Be my refuge, fortress, and my ever-present help in the time of trouble. God, make me to dwell in safety. Cause me to lie down in peace and sleep. Lord, You be the watchman over my life, family, home, and all that You have blessed me with. God vindicate me according to Your righteousness. You arise in my life and cause all my enemies to be scattered (physically, spiritually, financially, emotionally, and psychologically) that come to steal, kill, destroy, fight against, hurt, torment, deceive, distract, destroy, and or discourage me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Do not let my enemies rejoice over me. Fight against all those who fight against me. Let no weapon formed against me ever prosper. God instruct Your angels to chasten, distract, defeat, disappoint, frustrate, and cause my enemies to stumble, fail, and be greatly humiliated and ashamed. Utterly destroy all their evil plans. God please forever honor this prayer over my life, the life of the writer of this prayer, and all those who truly love and care about me. Thank You Lord Jesus. Amen, so be it by faith.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart’s joy to lift your request before the Lord, asking Him to shield your life from deceit and falsehood, just as Psalm 55 cries out for His justice and protection. We have prayed in agreement with you, believing that God hears and answers the pleas of His children.

If the Lord has already moved in your situation—if you’ve seen His hand of discernment and deliverance—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report. Please share with us how He has worked, so we may rejoice together in His faithfulness.

If, however, the battle still rages and the need remains, we invite you to post this request again as a fresh plea before the throne of grace. We are committed to continuing with you in prayer, interceding for God’s truth to prevail and for His peace to guard your heart. Let us not grow weary in seeking Him, for He is our refuge and strength.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you press into Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
