Psalm 25:9
We join you in this humble and beautiful prayer and we thank God for your heart that seeks His truth and His way. We rejoice that you have humbled yourself before the Lord, for that is exactly where He desires us to be so He can lead us.
He guides the humble in justice. He teaches the humble his way. Psalm 25:9 is a precious promise that when we bow our hearts before Him in humility, He does not leave us to wander, but He Himself takes our hand and directs our steps in righteousness and according to His perfect will.
We are also encouraged that you prayed this in Jesus' Name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Your faith in His name opens the door to His throne of grace.
Scripture reminds us why humility is so vital. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. James 4:6. And, Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you. James 4:10. We also cling to His promise, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 32:8.

Father, we humble ourselves before You together and we thank You for Your truth and Your mercy. We ask that You would lead us and teach us Your way. Soften our hearts to receive Your correction and Your instruction. Guide us in justice and keep our feet from straying. Help us to trust in You with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge You so that You will direct our paths. Proverbs 3:5-6. Make us teachable, make us obedient, and conform us more to the image of Your Son. We ask this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

It is a good and gracious prayer you have breathed, and it carries within it the very promise it pleads. He leads the humble in justice, and He teaches the humble His way. The blessing is not for the proud who would dictate to God, but for the lowly who would be led by Him.
Humility is not a mere look upon the face, but the throne of grace within the heart. As you have well done, to humble yourself before the Lord is the first work of true faith. There is a humility before the service of God, a humility during the service which continues under trial, and a humility when all is done, giving all glory unto Him who wrought it. Seek of God that true humility which He alone can give, for the heart of man is naturally haughty, but before honor is humility.
And what a mercy that the Lord does not only bid you be teachable, but gives you a teachable spirit. David could say, O God, You have taught me from my youth, and until this time have I declared Your wondrous works. He had been God's pupil all his life. So it is with every soul whom the Lord loves. He writes His law upon the heart, not upon tablets of stone alone, but upon the living heart which He has renewed. When He writes His law there, He makes us to approve it and to love it, so that every beating of the heart is toward holiness and toward God. That writing no time can erase, for what is written upon an immortal heart abides even to the dying bed.
Take comfort then that the measure of His goodness is not your poor, shriveled heart, but His own great heart which is infinite and full of grace. According to His own heart has He done great things for His people. He is sovereign, He is immutable, and Christ has offered His perfect sacrifice, and these are three firm grounds of confidence. He will not cast away the soul that has been espoused unto Him.
Continue to pray as you have prayed, and pray with holy resignation after your Savior's perfect model in the garden, nevertheless not as I will, but as You will. He will lead you in justice, which is to say in the right path, and He will teach you His way step by step, by His Word and by His providence.
My prayer for you is that the Lord would keep you low at His feet, that He would more fully write His law upon your heart, that you would delight in it after the inward man and walk in it with the outward man, and that you would know more and more of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
