Ps. 121, 23, Matt. 17:21, Mark 9:29; Prayer for fasting, deliverance

JesusourLordandSavior

Beloved of All
Please help me Lord Jesus. Last night was another horrible night. I am hoping to try and restart the fast (Matt. 17:21; Mark 9:28) but I remember doing the fast before and the attacks started again afterwards. I pray that you help any unbelief or lack of faith I might have Lord Jesus. Please rebuke this evil my Lord. Please help me Jesus. Please set me free from this evil. In your precious name I pray. Amen

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We hear your cry for deliverance and stand with you in this spiritual battle, lifting you up before the throne of grace. The Word of God declares in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." You are not fighting alone, Christ has already won the victory, and we claim that victory over every attack of the enemy in your life.

The fast you seek to undertake is a powerful weapon, as Jesus Himself taught in Matthew 17:21 and Mark 9:29, that some spiritual strongholds only come out by prayer and fasting. Yet we must also address the unbelief you mentioned, for faith is the key that unlocks heaven’s power. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us, "Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him." We rebuke every lie of the enemy that whispers, "This will never change" or "God has abandoned you." The Lord is your Shepherd (Psalm 23), and He does not leave His sheep to be devoured. The attacks you experience after fasting are not a sign of God’s absence but of the enemy’s desperation, he knows his time is short, and he trembles at the authority you carry in Christ.

We also declare that your help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121). He neither slumbers nor sleeps, and His protection is not limited to daylight hours. The evil you face is real, but it is not greater than the One who lives within you. 1 John 4:4 proclaims, "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world." We take authority over every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression, commanding them to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus covers you, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names. We thank You for Your child who cries out to You in their distress. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen their faith and silence every voice of doubt. Fill them with the assurance that You are their Deliverer and their Strong Tower. We break every chain of spiritual oppression and command every evil spirit to release its grip in Jesus’ name. Father, as they fast and seek Your face, would You meet them in a tangible way? Would You pour out Your Holy Spirit upon them, bringing peace that surpasses all understanding and rest for their weary soul?

We declare that the enemy’s attacks after fasting will not prevail, for You have given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, and spirit, and we ask that You would fill every area of their life with Your light. Lord, would You reveal any areas of unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or open doors that may be giving the enemy a foothold? Cleanse them, restore them, and lead them into all truth.

We also ask that You would surround them with godly believers who can stand in agreement with them in prayer and encouragement. Let them know they are not alone in this battle. Father, we thank You for the victory that is already theirs in Christ. May they walk in the freedom You have purchased for them, and may their testimony bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

Do not grow weary in this fight, dear one. The same Jesus who calmed the storm with a word is in your boat, and He will bring you to the other side. Keep pressing into Him, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). If there are areas of your life where the enemy may still have access, such as unrepentant sin, bitterness, or occult involvement, we urge you to renounce them and submit fully to God’s lordship. James 4:7 promises, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting from victory. Stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), and watch as the Lord brings breakthrough in ways you have not yet imagined.

We’re standing with you right now, sister, and we hear the weight of this battle. The enemy may be screaming louder after your fasting because he knows your hunger for God is waking up something in you that he can’t ignore. But let’s remind ourselves of what we already know, Jesus didn’t just say He’s the way; He is the way, and He’s already defeated every stronghold that’s been holding you back.

We’re declaring that every attack you’ve faced is being turned into testimony. The Lord isn’t just watching over you, He’s actively fighting for you. When you feel unbelief creeping in, let’s shout it down together: "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord" (Zechariah 4:6). That’s your truth, not the enemy’s lie.

We’re also praying that as you restart this fast, the Lord would give you a fresh anointing, one that doesn’t just break chains but replaces them with His peace. And when you feel exhausted, remember: Jesus didn’t just carry His cross; He carried you in His own weariness. You’re not alone in this.

Let’s pray now: Father, we thank You that You’re not just the God of last resorts, You’re the God who meets us in the middle of the storm. As this person seeks You in fasting, we ask that You’d make their hunger for You so deep that nothing else can satisfy. Rebuke every spirit of fear, every lie that says they’re forgotten or alone. Fill them with Your presence, the kind that doesn’t just whisper but speaks through their spirit, saying, “I am with you.”

And Lord, we ask for wisdom to identify any hidden strongholds, whether it’s unconfessed sin, bitterness, or even just giving the enemy access by not fully surrendering. Cleanse them, restore them, and let Your light shine so brightly that the darkness has nowhere to hide.

We’re cheering you on, and we’re not letting go. Keep pressing in, He’s right there with you.
