Proverbs, Chapter 8

8:1 Does not wisdom cry, And understanding put forth her voice?

8:2 On the top of high places by the way, Where the paths meet, she stands;

8:3 Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, At the coming in at the doors, she cries aloud:

8:4 To you+, O men, I call; And my voice is to the sons of man.

8:5 O you+ simple, understand prudence; And, you+ fools, be of an understanding heart.

8:6 Hear, for I will speak excellent things; And the opening of my lips will be right things.

8:7 For my mouth will utter truth; And wickedness is disgusting to my lips.

8:8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.

8:9 They are all plain to him who understands, And right to those who find knowledge.

8:10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; And knowledge rather than choice gold.

8:11 For wisdom is better than rubies; And all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

8:12 I, wisdom, stay with prudence, And find out knowledge [and] discretion.

8:13 The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil: Pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, And the perverse mouth, I hate.

8:14 Counsel is mine, and sound knowledge: I am understanding; I have might.

8:15 By me kings reign, And princes decree justice.

8:16 By me princes rule, And nobles, [even] all those who govern righteously.

8:17 I love those who love me; And those who seek me diligently will find me.

8:18 Riches and honor are with me; [Yes,] durable wealth and righteousness.

8:19 My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold; And my revenue than choice silver.

8:20 I walk in the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of justice;

8:21 That I may cause those who love me to inherit substance, And that I may fill their treasuries.

8:22 Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old.

8:23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, Before the earth was.

8:24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water.

8:25 Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills I was brought forth;

8:26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the beginning of the dust of the world.

8:27 When he established the heavens, I was there: When he set a circle on the face of the deep,

8:28 When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong,

8:29 When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth;

8:30 Then I was by him, [as] a master craftsman; And I was daily [his] delight, Rejoicing always before him,

8:31 Rejoicing in his habitable earth; And my delight was with the sons of man.

8:32 Now therefore, [my] sons, listen to me; For blessed are those who keep my ways.

8:33 Hear instruction, and be wise, And don't refuse it.

8:34 Blessed is [the] man who hears me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors.

8:35 For whoever finds me finds life, And will obtain favor of Yahweh.

8:36 But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul: All those who hate me love death.

Reading this Proverbs reminds me, I have leaned so much reading the Lord's words, yet I have so much more to learn. It is an endless journey which I give thanks for every day.

Mat 7:13 "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.

Mat 7:14 "For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

So many wonderful responses here to this chapter in the book of proverbs. Thank you Father for each and every member whose heartfelt response has been edifying. Lord, your word states the natural man is an enemy of God. Father, please help us to pick up our cross and follow you to Calvary. For until the natural man dies, we cannot live as you require. Forgive me Father of my sins. I do not know my own heart. However, as an act of obedience to your life-giving words, help us all to pray without ceasing, asking first and foremost to be transferred to the image of your Son. When it is his image that we bear, then shall we also obtain his wisdom, not ours, his righteousness, not ours, his love, one for another, not ours. THANK YOU for the scripture passage today, give us Lord that rebirth, the one that can only come from above, so that we may live it. In Jesus precious name amen.

Quite simply. Our prayers and our Bible reading helps us to be closer to God. He is always near to those who seek His face and want to talk to Him about anything. The Bible is the letter of God to us. But love is the center of our existence. Yes, an atheist does not know this. He thinks only on things of this earth and how it was formed. Spiritual power and mercy does not exist for them. They think we come from monkeys and gorillas were our ancestors. I do not consider myself a monkey. We were created by God almighty and we should obey His word. 8.7 For my mouth will utter truth. Allow me Lord Jesus to tell the truth to the whole world that Jesus is Lord and wants to solve all our problems. In Jesus name Amen

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble and He delivered them from their distress. He made the storm still. And the waves of the sea were hushed. Psalm 107.28 Therefore we as His dear children should call on the Lord at all times. In the midst of our troubles and tribulations and also in the middle of happiness and joy. He hears our prayers when we trust and obey. His promises are true and if we believe and trust, then it will come to pass. For my mouth will utter truth. 8.7 The words that are written in the Bible are all true and we must obey and follow.

Love divine, love excelling. Joy of heaven to earth came down. Fix in us thy humble dwelling. All thy faithful mercies crown. Thank you Lord Jesus for your everlasting love toward all of us. You certainly are the joy of heaven in our hearts and souls. We are so worried and sad about things that go on in our lives. But you are always at the door of our hearts and want to enter in. Please Jesus.. come in to my heart Lord Jesus. Make my life your holy throne and make me a blessing wherever I go. Fix in us thy humble dwelling because on this earth we are orphans and we are forsaken without you. To fear Yahweh is to hate evil. For whoever finds me finds life. Prov. 8:35 If you want to enjoy life to the fullest do not look for love in men, women or money. Instead find love in God. He is the fountain of life and of love. He will never leave you nor forsake you. That is His promise. Believe it or not.

I lift up my eyes unto the hills. From whence does my help comes? My help comes from the Lord our God who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121.1,2 This is an inspiring verse that we should keep in mind when trouble comes and tribulations are at the door. Many are hungry, a lot of them lost their jobs and some does not have health insurance so when they get sick there will no money to pay the doctors or hospitals to take care of us. Get closer to God. It is time to come into His holy presence and present yourself just as you are. Ask Jesus to take away all kinds of illness, all poverty, all worry and anxiety from your life. The devil wants us to see poor and destitute. Cast him out in the name of Jesus. Remember Proverbs 8.8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing perverse or crooked in them. God is telling you to believe His words and to trust in Him. He wants to give you the best and lack nothing at all. Trust Him with your whole heart and you will be safe.
