Proverbs, Chapter 25

25:1 These also are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.

25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

25:3 As the heavens for height, and the earth for depth, So the heart of kings is unsearchable.

25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, And there comes forth a vessel for the refiner:

25:5 Take away the wicked [from] before the king, And his throne will be established in righteousness.

25:6 Don't put yourself forward in the presence of the king, And don't stand in the place of great men:

25:7 For it is better that it is said to you, Come up here, Than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom your eyes have seen.

25:8 Don't hastily bring [it] to court, Or else what will you do in its end, When your fellow man has put you to shame.

25:9 Debate your cause with your fellow man [himself], And don't disclose the secret of another;

25:10 Or else he who hears it will revile you, And your infamy will not turn away.

25:11 A word fitly spoken Is [like] apples of gold in network of silver.

25:12 [As] an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, [so is] a wise reprover on an obedient ear.

25:13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, [so is] a faithful messenger to those who send him; For he refreshes the soul of his masters.

25:14 [As] clouds and wind without rain, [so is] he who boasts himself of his gifts falsely.

25:15 By long forbearing is a ruler persuaded, And a soft tongue breaks the bone.

25:16 Have you found honey? Eat so much as is sufficient for you, Or else you will be filled with it, and vomit it.

25:17 Let your foot be seldom in your fellow man's house, Or else he will be weary of you, and hate you.

25:18 A man who bears false witness against his fellow man Is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

25:19 Confidence in a betrayer in time of trouble Is [like] a crumbling tooth, and an unsteady foot.

25:20 [As] vinegar on lye, and [as] smoke for the eyes, So is he who sings songs to a heavy heart.

25:21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink:

25:22 For you will heap coals of fire on his head, And Yahweh will reward you.

25:23 The north wind brings forth rain: So does a backbiting tongue an angry countenance.

25:24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.

25:25 [As] cold waters to a thirsty soul, So is good news from a far country.

25:26 [As] a troubled fountain, and a corrupted spring, [so is] a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.

25:27 It is not good to eat much honey: And searching out their glory is glory.

25:28 He whose spirit is without restraint Is [like] a city that is broken down and without walls.

Oh may God and my saviour. Behold me here at your feet. Crying and and longing to see your face. From the bottom of my heart I am so sorry for all my sins and all the iniquities I did against you. I want to be like Noah. Living in the midst of ungodly people who refused to hear the warning of upcoming upheaval. He was obedient to you and build the ark to save himself and his family. Jesus, help me be like Noah.  Your word in this beautiful passage tells us to...Yaweh will reward you. 25.22  Whatever you do for the poor, the hungry, the naked or the encarcerated. God will reward you. Blessed be God and blessed be His holy name. His wonder to see are great and we worship you and praise your holy name. Amen

Dear Jesus as you accepted to carry your cross to calvary and having seeing all these women crying aloud, suffering along the way for such a horrible punishment you carried for us all. You knew it would not be easy. Heavey tear dromps were falling from your head when you were praying at Mt Olives. For ous sins you suffered so much. Sometimes we feel that we are not appreciated and are rejected in every form from our jobs, our office and even in our homes.  PLease Jesus, help us think how you have sufferend rejection and punishment for no reason at all. Have mercy on us sinners. Because you sufered for us on the cross. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing. 25.2  You have concealed from the beginning the salvation of our souls on the cross of calvary. Sufered and died for our sins. We are just grateful to You for doing such a thing for all humanity. Thank you so much and we praise and adore your holy name. Amen

So as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved. Put a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Col. 3.12  We have beenc chose by Jesus and we are His beloved children. So let us act accordingly and He will be pleased with everything we do. Our hearts should be full of compassion for the poor, the hungry, the naked and we should help them in any way we can. Our kindness should be seen by all our peers. At work, at home, at church and even our pets should be treated with kindness because that comes from God. Of course Jesus wants us to be humble, gentle and patience toward others who do not know Him as their personal savior and lord. He whose spirit is without restraint is like a city that is broken down and without wall. 25.28 . If we are risen with Christ our spirit should be restrained. Just like Jesus acted we should act. We do not want to to see our lives broken down nor destroyed. So, let us put on the shield of salvation in our lives and serve God joyfully.

Speaking of Proverbs of Solomon in 25:1, Solomon was known for having a harem and many women were given to him as gifts by foreigners. Some say he had over 700 wives. Of course he lived long before Christ was incarnate, almost one thousand years before, and interfaced with the Egyptians and he is also known for his magical works. It is also understood that he received punishment for his ways and that he lived in luxury which, as a consequence, heavy taxes had to be placed upon the city. What thoughts does anyone have on these things?

I have wondered whether Solomon was a giver since he had so many riches. Was he concerned about the poor in nearby lands? Also how could any man take care of 700 wives, it seems like he would need some help.

I could certainly use some of that good news as in Proverbs 25:25.

Dear God, those who fear your name woke up this morning calling on you for mercy and compassion. Because in this world we find hopelessness and souls that are going to hell and no one seems to help. When we cry out to You, You certatinly listen to all our petitions because your word tell us that your ears are open to the cry of your children. Thank you for your wonderful promise that says that Again I say unto you that if two of you will agree on eath about anything that they might ask, it will be done on earth by my Father who is in heaven. Mat. 18.19  We know that our God hear us when we pray. Prov. 25.2  It is the glory of God to conceal a thing. Dear Jesus reveal to us your will so we will follow you all the way till you call us to heaven.  In Jesus name. Amen

The word holiness in the Bible is used as santification. A separation unto God. Whatever we do or say it will be to praise, honor and glorify God at all times.  It has to do with our entire life style. No jewelry or dishonoring God with our behavior.  Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly. I Tim 2.9  This also applies to men. Men should not use womens cloting. God is the author of all good things. So let us follow the example of Jesus. Prov. 25.15b  A soft tongue breaks the bone. Dear Jesus make my tongue to be a blessing to all who come in contact with. My my mouth be used to bless and never to curse. Use my heart and mind to worship you at all times. This we ask in Jesus name. Amen

Thanks for sharing the holy words in Proverbs  i love reading on this it helps me for discipline every verses and chapter are guidance and spiritually discipline and guidance the truth and salvation actually all holy words from old testament till new testament are all guidance and truth ,All words are holy and inspired the life to obey what God promises.Im happy that i already born again christian who is always fearing and always believing all words of God.In times of trouble he is there to help no matter how big is trials we are not only tested by good but also tested in bad times cos the more we are tested the more we become nearer to God.Friends may left us but God never abandoned us he is always there helping us.So prayer is the best weapon to speak to God to meditate his holy words. In Lord Jesus name Amen
