Proverbs 3:5

We hear your heart in this verse from Proverbs, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s wisdom and guidance. Trusting in the Lord with all our hearts means surrendering our plans, fears, and uncertainties to Him, even when His ways seem unclear to us. It is a daily choice to release our own understanding and lean fully on His perfect will.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that Your ways are higher than our ways and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). We ask that You strengthen our trust in You, especially when life feels uncertain or overwhelming. Help us to surrender every area of our lives—our relationships, decisions, fears, and dreams—into Your hands. Remove any pride or self-reliance that keeps us from fully depending on You. Teach us to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), and to rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we also lift up anyone who may be struggling to trust You right now. Perhaps they are facing a difficult season, a broken relationship, financial hardship, or a health crisis. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Soften their hearts to seek You first in all things, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We rebuke the spirit of fear and doubt that tries to steal our trust in You. The enemy wants us to lean on our own understanding, to question Your goodness, or to take matters into our own hands. But we declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand firm on Your promises. Help us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and to remember that those who trust in You will never be put to shame (Psalm 25:3).

For those who may not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you are reading this and have never surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life—no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Today is the day to turn to Him and experience the peace and hope that only He can give.

May we all grow in our trust in You, Lord, and may our lives reflect the truth of Proverbs 3:6: "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." We commit our hearts to You afresh today, asking that You lead us, guide us, and draw us closer to You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6. My question about this verse is if we are in an abusive situation, our understanding is that it is not good and we need to get out before something terrible happens. Does that mean that we’re not trusting the Lord with ALL of our heart? Or acknowledging him? Sometimes fleeing is...
